Hey all! Sorry it's been such a long time, but it's been a crazy summer. Let's see what I can remember about the last few months:

  • Got a "new" iPad and it's awesome. I've been playing a BUNCH of games on it, mostly freebies, but some standouts include Infinity Blade, Pocket Planes, Tiny Towers, and SongPop.

  • Continued my Gears of War 3 addiction. Gosh, I don't know why this game as such a hold on me, but I really enjoy it! I am still looking for folks to team up with for the DLC achievements, so add me as a friend on XBLive if you're interested (include that you're adding me for Gears and/or from GameSpot).

  • Bought the Game of the Year edition of Red Dead Redemption (360). Yes, I 100%ed the single player campaign shortly after it came out, but the multiplayer was glitching on me, so I traded it in. I'm going to try to get it to work now...but I was interrupted by the arrival of...

  • A brand used Philips CD-i! That's right, the huge, clunky console best known for its HORRIBLE Zelda games, which I now have all 3 of. Oh yes, Link: Faces of Evil, Zelda: Wand of Gamelon, and Zelda's Adventure, how I have longed for you for YEARS!

I bought the system refurbed and with a new timechip, so it should be all ready for years to come. I also got a boatload of games for it, but would love anyone's recommendation that owns/had one!

While I haven't played either, I would recommend trying "Mystic Midway: Rest in Pieces" and its sequel, "Mystic Midway: Phantom Express".  They look quite interesting.

I really want to hear what you think about the CD-i Zeldas. :P

@Yagr_Zero I've only tried Link: The Faces of Evil.  The controls are responsive, but some are WEIRD.  It's tough, like Zelda II.

You should definitely get Chaos Rings. It's one of the few Square Enix games that hardly gets any attention despite it dripping awesomeness.

I wish I'd gotten a 360 - my PS3 hasn't worked for over half a year.   I have a decent PC now so that takes up the gaming slack.

and there are still plenty of PS2 games I didn't finish.  Philips CD-i !!

Wand of Ganelon is infamous - I've heard so much about it over the years that I would really love to play that game.

I once saw a CD-i for 75 USD but it was made in Belgium - the old PAL - NTSC problem.

Wand of Gamelon is absolutely horrible.  It's right up there with Gears 3.  =P

What kind of glitches were you getting in  RDR? Server problems?

@nutcrackr Yeah.  Not able to connect AT ALL as of late.  I deleted my 2 year old MP save game, refreshed the cache, and I'm hoping it'll work now.  Haven't tried it yet, though - got sucked into single player again.  :)
