Ya. . . . . just have a Xbox Live free account. That's not true about Microsoft. . . . I should know I work for them.

What is going on guys? Hope everything is well. 
I have a question for anybody that has Xbox Live. For Christmas my mom bought me a Kincet and Dance Central 3. 
I then went and bought the other two games in this collection. And of course there is Downloadable content for these games. But here is my thing...
If I got Xbox live I would have to buy a Wireless Connection for my Xbox because my internet is though the phone line. And there is no connection close for me to use a wired connection. If I did get a Xbox Gold, and then I got some downloads, do I have to keep up with my Gold status just to keep using the stuff I downloaded? I just HATE to spend all this money and things not really be worth it in the end. I know Microsoft likes to get you for every cent they can.
But I just want to hear what every one says about this kind of thing. Thanks for any kind of advice that you can give me. I will see you guys around!

You can just have the Xbox Live Silver membership (which is free) and have access to that downloadable content, since the content saves to your hard drive (if you have one.) Gold is basically only beneficial if you like to stream movies and play with others online and be able to use voice chat. I get Gold on and off since I barely play games as much as I used to, well, play online anyway. Hope this helps.
You can play it off or online as long as your hard drive still holds the game your good to go, has nothing to to with online once you purchase it.
It's been a while since I've had XBL myself, but I know you don't need a gold membership to use your downloaded stuff unless it states so with the game and your statement is quite true about Microsoft and that's why I went with a PS3. :P
nope, for the stuff u have downloaded, you don't even need internet to play or use them...unless they stated that the service can only be use by gold menb or something.... ( i am not 100% sure about this tho ) Hope this help you :D :D
