I caught my first Shiny Pokemon! I didn't even use the Pokeradar!

It was so amazing and lucky! I was exploring around the Survival Area on Route 226, when I thought I'd go fishing for some Gyarados and Seadra, so I go to the nearest source of water.

The first pokemon I got was a lvl 37 male Seadra (which I caught), then a lvl 32 Seadra. I then reeled in a Gyarados and another Seadra. I then swung out my Super Rod again and guess what I reeled in? A Shiny Seadra! (lvl 32 male) I couldn't believe my luck! I'd only found three of these pokemon before and I hadn't even used the Pokeradar!

I was so happy that my first Shiny happened to be from fishing, I doubt that happens much. Also, I don't really do well with the radar anyway, my highest chain is 25 Ponyta. I suppose I haven't had it that long, but I'm improving. Anyway, I'll go and see if I can find any more beautiful Shinies!

Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy should be arriving today. Brawl is amazing and all, but I think we needed another game to break it up. Also getting another nunchuk today, should allow us to play boxing with two players now, aswell as another option for 4 player Brawls.

WOOHOO!!! I HAVE A WII! + Brawl should be here TODAY!!!

FINALLY!

I now have my Wii, which is sitting snugly by the TV downstairs. We got the Wii Play Bundle that came with the extra remote. That was handy and it saved us money. Plus, more exciting news; Brawl is released in PAL regions today, that means that I should have it by noon. Thing is though, I have a beach party with my friends tonight, and I've got to go and work with mum for a few hours, and go into town to get stuff for the beach. I think Brawl will have to wait for tomorrow. But never mind; there's the whole summer free to play it,and my brother has school for the another month, which will have him out of the way and allow me to unlock stuff faster.

Chapter 6: Friends in Need

Chapter 6: Friends in Need

The grasses leading out of Anvil City's west gate were tall and dense, not allowing travellers access by bicycle. Instead of their usual mode of transport, Matt and Sydney instead put on their hiking boots and started to make their way to the next town on foot. The two had stocked up on supplies and healed their pokemon before they had left the city, so they were well prepared for any tough challenges that lay ahead.

Matt checked on Sydney after about thirty minutes of solid walking. She was looking at the floor, like she always did, and seemed to be pondering over something. "Hey, what's up?" Matt inquired. Sydney looked up, her daydream slipping away. "Oh, I was just wondering about those two trainers we battled," she looked at the floor again. "They left Anvil yesterday, I wonder how they're doing." Matt looked ahead, but all he could see was the dense foliage, even on the horizon. He began to think if there was an actual path at all, or just this stretch of marshland and plains. Sydney, on the other hand, was again lost in her thoughts, that separate world that she continually visited and lived. Matt always thought that she must feel quite lonely, what with not socialising with others and keeping to herself. But, the more he saw her in her far-off state of mind, the more he thought he was the lonely one. She did, after all, seem content and happy. He was the one alone; not speaking with anyone or anything, real or not.

Upon this reverie, Matt frowned and put his head down too. He considered calling on one of his pokemon to talk to, or to scout ahead. He decided it would be best to scout, in an attempt to find a quicker route through the grassland. Matt reached down to his belt and pulled off one of the pokeballs. He threw the sphere into the air and released the pokemon inside. After the white flash had disappeared, a creature with white fur and a large scythe on it's head stood awaiting instruction. "Absol, scout ahead to find a quicker route through this grass. Use cut attack to help too." The Absol nodded and dashed off ahead, cutting a swathe out of the tall vegetation. Sydney approved of her brother's idea and released a pokemon too. Her choice looked like a purple cat, with a forked tail. "Espeon, follow Abol's lead, but search northwards." The Espeon let out a cry of agreement and her eyes flashed white, before leaping off to the north. Matt and Sydney decided to follow Absol's path, stepping over the sliced stems and chopped leaves. Just at that moment, a loud cry of pain could be heard in ahead of them. It sounded human.

Matt glanced at Sydney, before running off in the direction of the shout. Sydney called for Espeon to return, waiting behind until she came back. Matt was listening intently for any more sounds, human or pokemon. He could then make out a growling noise, coming from his right. He turned and pushed his way through the grass, into an area of flattened grass. He saw a couple of men, standing in the centre of the circle, standing over two unconscious teenage boys. Absol was standing by the edge of the circle, growling and leering at the strangers. The two turned around to face Matt.

They wore white and black uniforms, with a large G in the middle of the suit. Their matching hair was turquoise in colour and cut short, in a bowl cut. Matt immediately suspected something. "Hey, what's going on here?" He yelled. He looked back at the two trainers on the ground, he immediately noticed the cowboy hat on one of their heads. No! Robbie and Shock! He looked closer, and saw a lighting bolt tail poking out of the grass. Not Zap too! The man on the left spoke, "look, another foolish trainer." His accomplice looked down at the boys on the floor, then to Absol. "We could take all of them actually, then the boss will be very pleased." The two nodded and picked two pokeballs from their belts. Matt was confused by their words and actions, but they had obviously knocked out Robbie and Shock, and were going to do the same to him. He ordered Absol to take a defensive stance, then picked another pokeball. He threw it into the air and a Blastoise appeared in front of him. The two strangers hesitated, before throwing their pokeballs too.

The two pokemon that appeared both looked like discs of metal with yellow eyes; a pair of Bronzor. Matt chuckled, these two weren't as intimidating as they appeared; Bronzor weren't effective against Absol, and would be weak to his Blastoise too. He ordered his team swiftly, "Blstoise, Bubblebeam! Absol, Dark Pulse!" Blastoise put the pressure on with a harsh blast of bubbles, while Absol released a wave of dark energy straight at the Bronzor. The two attacks hit and weakened the opposition, making them reel backwards. "Now! Water Gun and Shadow Ball!" Blastoise fired a strong jet of water at the Bronzor on the right, while Absol shot an orb of darkness at the other. The attacks hit and the two Bronzor fainted without unleashing a single attack. Astonished, the two strangers scowled at their opponent, before returning their pokemon and running out of the circle of grass.

Matt thanked his pokemon and returned them to their pokeballs. He made his way over to Robbie and Shock, both of which were still out cold. He checked their pulses and shifted them into more comfortable positions. Suddenly, someone burst into the circle from behind him. He turned around, reaching for Blastoise's pokeball, before he saw Sydney and Espeon. She looked exhausted, she must have been searching everywhere for him. She gasped as she saw Robbie and Shock and rushed over to their sides. "Matt, what happened!" She whispered. He looked over to where the two white uniformed strangers had gone. "I followed Absol here, there were two guys standing over them. They'd knocked out these guys." Sydney frowned, unable to believe what she was seeing and hearing. "Where are they now?" She asked. "I beat them in a battle, then they ran off," he explained. "weird thing is, they looked at Zap and Absol and said 'we should take them all', and something about their boss being pleased." Sydney frowned even deeper, before putting her hand to her mouth, "You don't think that they meant to take the pokemon, do you?" Matt shook his head, "no idea, but they certainly aren't friendly." He stood up, "we'd better watch out for them in the future. Never know what they might be up to."

Sydney returned her curious Espeon and reached inside her pack for some potions. She'd never tried any on a human before, but it just might work. She sprayed a little of the potion onto each of the bruised lumps on the trainers' heads, before doing the same to Zap. The two conscious trainers waited patiently, hoping that their friends would wake up. Zap stirred, before jumping up and looking around hurriedly. He saw the two trainers and cheered a happy cry. "Chu! Raichu!" He smiled and crackled his cheeks in welcome. Sydney crouched and patted the Raichu's head, "aw, you're so sweet." Zap smiled again and jumped over to Shock, jolting him into consciousness. The younger teen bolted upright and yelped in pain. "OW!" He then realised the two trainers standing next to him. He stared, confused, up at them, "wh- what happened?"

Chapter 5: A Crash of Waves - Part 2

Isaac leapt from the last stone, confidence flowing in his veins. He landed on the platform and approached the twin leaders. They extended their hands in congratulations and welcome. Isaac shook both and awaited their announcement. Annie spoke first. "Welcome to the Anchor City Gym, are you prepared to fight us on your own?" Isaac nodded once, "I am ready." He then pointed at the pokeballs on his belt. "I'm afraid I have only two pokemon with me today." Aqua looked at his sibling, "Then this will be a two on two battle, in which we will use one pokemon each. The team who KOs both the opponents pokemon will be declared the victor." Annie smiled and picked her pokeball, "You watched us battle yesterday, right?" Isaac nodded, "yeah, I liked your technique, but that won't catch me out." Aqua grinned, "lets begin." The two leaders crossed to their side of the platform, and Issac to his. The platform split in two and made its way to the centre of the gym. Isaac picked his pokemon from the belt and whispered some encouragement to the spheres. The platform stopped and the two large rocks rose from the pool floor. Aqua shouted "Begin!"

Annie threw her pokeball, out of which appeared her Azumarill. Aqua called out his Golduck, which began to swim in around the leaders' platform. Isaac threw his pokeballs, which landed on his platform. Two cat-like pokemon appeared. One was a light blue colour with great, icicle-like appendages. The second was cream coloured, with several leaves sprouting from it's fur; a Glaceon and a Leafeon. Isaac immediately ordered his pokemon to start the battle. "Leafeon, Giga Drain!" Isaac called, "Glaceon, Icy Wind!" Leafeon jumped forward and began draining Azumarill of it's health. Golduck was about to assist, when it was hit hard by a chilly gust from Glaceon. Aqua shouted, "Dive under the water!" The Golduck quickly obeyed and dove beneath the water, before jumping out in front of Glaceon. "Bubblebeam!" Aqua commanded. Golduck opened it's mouth and shot a stream of large bubbles at Glaceon. The bubbles burst and hit Glaceon hard. Leafeon had now drained the Azumarill, who was ordered to perform a Defence Curl. With the Azumarill bracing itself against attack, Isaac put his focus on the Golduck.

"Ok, Bullet Seed, followed by a an Ice fang!" Isaac pointed at the Golduck. Leafeon shot large seeds from it's mouth, stopping Golduck in it's tracks. Glaceon then lunged forward and bit Golduck hard on the arm with glowing teeth. The Golduck cried out, before it was cut short. Golduck's arm began to frost over. The frost moved all the way across it's body and then turned into solid ice; Golduck had been frozen!

Aqua gasped, "no way!" He was stuck and he couldn't use items. Issac grinned at the opportunity in front of him. "Leafeon, Sunny Day!" Leafeon put it's head to the windows to it's right and called on a bright spell of sunshine. "Surf attack!" Annie ordered. The Azumarill got out of it's defense curl and jumped onto it's platform, raising it's arms. The water started to rise. Isaac thought quickly. He needed to take out the Golduck and stop the wave. He grinned again, calling to Glaceon. "Wait for a second." Glaceon thought he knew what Isaac was up to, and held back it's prepared attack. Isaac waited until the wave was up to Golduck, before shouting "Ice Beam!" Glaceon released a bright, blue beam from it's mouth, which hit the approaching water. The wave slowed, before freezing over too. The frozen wave had also trapped Golduck inside aswell.

The sun was still shining brightly through the windows, filling the room with light. Isaac knew it would come in handy. "Now! SolarBeam Golduck and the ice!" Leafeon didn't even have to draw in energy because of it's Sunny Day. It fired a hot, yellow beam at the ice and Golduck inside it. The beam broke through the frozen wave, knocking out Golduck as it hit. the SolarBeam broke all the way through the ice, revealing an awestruck Annie, Aqua and Azumarill. Issac didn't hesitate before commanding a final offensive. "SolarBeam and HyperBeam, Now!"

The two Eeveelutions fired their attacks through the hole in the ice. Annie didn't have time to order Azumarill before it was hit by both attacks. It was knocked out instantaneously. The two Gym leaders stood, mouths agape in astonishment. Aqua returned his Golduck, Annie her Azumarill. The ice was quickly melted by the sun and the platforms moved back to the far end of the Gym. The leaders shook Isaac's hand again and presented him with a Ripple Badge, Aqua Tail TM and 1000 pokedollars. "That was a superb battle, nothing like I've seen before, well done." Aqua grinned. Annie smiled and said she'd never experienced a battle quite like it. Isaac thanked the leaders and returned his pokemon to their pokeballs. He then made his way back to the entrance, where a wide-eyed Emmanuel and Namyr greeted him. Emmanuel gaped at Isaac, before firing questions at him. "How did you do that?", "Can you show me how to do that?", "Where'd you learn those attacks?" Issac began laughing and answering the verbal assaults of his companion. Namyr followed close behind, looking admiringly at their new friend. She wondered how he had come across such powerful pokemon. She then realised how much she wanted one.
