FBI Deputy Director Alvin Kersh: You ever hear of King George the III?
John Doggett: You answer my question!
FBI Deputy Director Alvin Kersh : He was King of England when America declared independence in 1776. King George the III kept a diary. On July 4th he made an entry in it: "Nothing important happened today"
John Doggett: What the hell does that got to do with me?
FBI Deputy Director Alvin Kersh: A revolution started, things that changed the world forever, and even kings can miss them if they are not paying attention.
Happy Independance Day!
Another hero of mine dead. I guess I better get used to it since all of my favorite actors and comedians are old men now.
George you were awesome, and wherever you are now just pray it's not Milwaukee.

I played Ninja Gaiden A LOT. Probably more than you guys ever even knew I did. I'd often turn it on for 15 minutes before I had to leave for school or college, just to see if I could squeeze an extra few points out of the mission mode. Naturally NGII is a BIG deal to me, much the same as the new Star Wars movies were to long time fans of that series.
I just finished playing the demo for a 3rd time and wanted to share a few opinions on what I seen in it. Much like before, I shall present these opinions in an easy to read list of pro's and con's, and yes, I am aware that it's just a demo and not really an insight into how the REAL game will play.
Pros
The action is faster.
Blood, so, so much blood. Honestly I think this is the goriest game since Dead Rising.
The new weapons are fun to use and fit right into the feel of the game.
The new moves are both exciting and hilarious to use, especially the new execution moves.
With the addition of new moves comes more depth and with more depth comes more play time!
The new Black Spider ninjas are really cool looking.
The character models are incredible.
The amazingly bad dialog has returned in full force.
The new Ultimate Techniques are amazing plus...
... It's harder to chain them. In NG and NGB it was incredibly easy to chain ultimate techniques during fights. What you'd do is kill two enemies jump, suck in the essence drops then kill the next few enemies with a new UT. This made your score sky rocket, and pretty much created the idea of "Karma Farming/Running". Basically that means playing NG for score and score only. It made the game rather boring just jumping around pulling off the same move over and over with the same weapons.
Cons
The frame rate sucks. I moved so quickly in this demo that or froze poor Ryu in the air for at least two seconds. Maybe I should learn to play slowly.
The environments are really stale and boring.
The Dragon Sword is exactly the same. No, seriously, EXACTLY the same.
It's harder to chain UT's. This is something that I find myself both liking and disliking. It's nice because it means that I won't be going score crazy by the end of the first week of play but it's also kinda sucky because chaining UT's makes the game easier, and sometimes you need that for the harder sections. I'm dreading the later chapters on Master Ninja in this game without that ability.
My god is it easy or what? I'm not being cocky here people but this game plays like a beginners intro to Ninja Gaiden Black. You heal after every encounter, there are save points around every corner, chests in every room filled with useful crap and the enemies kindly wait their turn before attacking you. Not only that but you CANNOT be hurt whilst charging a UT. This makes the game a little easy, no?
Ah well, I'm done with this for now. I'm buying the real game tomorrow after work so I'll let you all in on what I think of that when I get my hands on it.
Pros-
It's a well made, funny action film.
It has some of the best characters moments in the Indy series.
It deals with the paranoia of the 50s brilliantly.
It presents the 50s in a very realistic way in its fashion and set design.
Neil Flynn has a bit part in it.
The special effects and stunts are amazing.
There are some awesome one-liners.
There are hundreds of little dumb references to previous Indy movies.
Irina Spalko. Deadly and hot. What more could a person want?
Cons-
It's the worst Indy movie.
The humour is much more "in your face" than before.
The X-Files beat them to the plot in the mid nineties, along with about 400 other movies, TV shows and books.
The plot goes from slightly ridiculous to downright stupid.
It would seem Spielberg forgot how to make a GREAT action movie sometime during the making of Schindlers List.
Neil Flynn is not in it for long enough.
Shia LaBouf is STILL a moron even though he's not too bad in this movie.
If Lucas or Spielberg think they can get away with THAT excuse for Marcus Broady and Henry Sr's departure from the series they've lost it totally.
Cate Blanchett is not in it enough. Whenever she is she does nothing but spit out badly pronounced Russian phrases and act all mean. They should have used her talents (nudge nudge) more effectively.
Did I mention that they STOLE the plot from the X-Files? Oh, I did huh? Well in that case I'll put it this way: if you thought the X Files got a little dunderheaded in it's latter seasons WAIT till you see this.
It's still a great movie but I really disliked that plot. Frank Darabont (the guy who wrote and directed Shawshank and The Green Mile!) wrote a spec script that Spielberg loved but Lucas hated. Instead they two compromised on this. I'm not surprised it was Lucas really, I'm fairly positive he's gone completely insane.
Get back to REAL myths Indy and leave the Martians for Fox Mulder.

Hawt!
You ever have one of those days?
I swear all day I've not been able to string two coherant thoughts together all day day all all...
Won't be burning out today, but will definetly be joining you crazy kats tommorow. Need sleep.
