    Xbox One (One Gamer's Perspective)

The reveal is done and bouy... I just plain don't get MS, it seems in the past 4 or so years Microsoft has been trying very hard to be "Trendy" (seriously, they even have a trending menu in a "gaming" console) but hey in the interest of not being a pescimist i'll put on my "me too" hipster glasses, oversized snapback and start with the positive aspects of it first, right sooo... The swaping gimmick is kinda cool ummm... the kinect stuff was interesting hmmm... the intigrated social stuff was ok i could see it bieng useful when watching football and hmmm... seem to be forgeting something.. Oh yeah Games, Where the **** were those?!?! this is the launch of a new "gaming" console, you know pretty much the only time we gamers actually feel like we matter to these big lumbering companies slowly consuming the world out of its own existence.  Oddly enough these are all things (except the sports stuff) that my girlfriend liked and found amazing, that then led me to the OBVIOUSNESS of the truth, that this was made for her (or the demographic like her) the ever illusive "casual gamers".

Ok before you fanboy's and girls start screaming E3...E3, i would like to reference to the fact that this is our time, the day one campers, the quers, the stay up till 2 am to be dissapointed then write a blog about it, passionate hardcore gamers. My Girlfriend might be interested in the features of the console but no way in hell is she actually gonna buy the damn thing, hell she's probably forgeten the name by now. With that in mind what are you left with? Gamer disappointment, which in such a short window is that what MS really wants? if this conference happened last year i would't have mindined but to me this is too close to launch to be so deliberately vague, i mean really, what is it? at this point i'm not even sure it's a gaming console, ok a little farfetched but look at the press conference and tell me i'm wrong. Vague language with vague features, vague game announcements with vague content and they have the conceit to call it one?!?

Now E3 is just shy of 3 weeks away and i'm still excited for it but ultimately i am baffled and confused that MS could lose the plot so significantly. If there is anytime that you should care about the gamer is at launch and as a console reveal this was weak, i know this wasn't aimed at gamers but if thats the case why put it on all the major gaming websites? Why focus your attention to us? why not wait till E3 then slowly trickle out these "features" later? that makes more sense to me but hey i'm just a gamer so show me some games at this E3 thing and my opinions might change till then my loyalty lies with whoever will provide to the gamer.
