December is the month which determines the fate of some teams weather they are in the relegation dogfight or looking at promotion to a higher division. Doom City are already top of the table with 52 points after beating promotion chasers MK Dons 3-1.

However, City boss Steven Pyott knows that his side are only half way there to winning the League two title and his side must now brace themselves for a busy month as December will prove a tough test

Pyott is optimistic though and he believes his side can be crowned the champions at the end of the season.

"December is a key month for us because as things stand at the moment we are top of the table and are looking at being crowned the champions at the end of this season. However, December is going to be a tough one for us because all the teams that we are playing in this month are all in the top half and they are all chasing for promotion.

We must brace ourselves for a busy month and hope we can get as much points as possible because after December the mad rush gets hotter as the competition hots up. However, I believe we can rise to the challenge and at the end of the season we will be crowned the league champions because we are the best team in this league"

With the recent 4-3 win in the league and now a fantastic 7-1 victory in the English Cup over Hereford; Doom City boss, Steven Pyott was ecstatic after his side did 'the double' over a Hereford United side which was considered the better team on paper.

"It was a great day for the fans as they saw a stunning performance by their local side. The most impressive thing about the victory is that we went out there and thrashed Hereford 7-1 to do a double over them in the English cup. It is a great start for us in both cup competitions.

However, there's a long way to go before we reach the finals and I am going to remind the players to take things one step at a time and just play good football. If we continue to do this then we have a good chance in doing well in both cups.

A fantastic 4-1 win against Cheltenham Town in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy saw Doom City make it through to the second round - delighting the manager [Steven Pyott] and the fans. Now Pyott has urged his team to do the same against Hereford United in the first round of the English Cup. Pyott also commented on how important it was to reach the second round.

"It was a fantastic win and the fans loved every minute of the game. The whole team was excellent on the pitch, but the star of the show was without question C. Glen who scored four goals. At the moment, he's on fire because since September he has netted 18 goals in the league and he is the club's second highest goal scorer. With four goals to his name already in the LDV vans trophy he must be the top scorer so far.

Getting through to the second round of the LDV vans trophy was really important because it was one of the targets set by the board and I am pleased with myself that I as a manager have managed to prove that this team can do well in the cup matches as well as the league.

Tomorrow, we face a tough English cup first round tie against Hereford. Hereford United lost 4-3 to us in a league clash, but they will be looking to get us back and I have urged the lads to just go out there and do the same again and if we play well then we should win it"
