System Wars Magazine, the brainchild of Willy105, reached the respectable age of 5 today. Even though I only have been working on SWM since the last few issues, I still managed to make a solid contribution to the anniversary issue that appeared today. It can be read here. My part in this was not only contributing a few articles, but also editing the other articles (mainly the reviews) to ensure consistency in terms of both layout and grammar. SWM also happens to be the reason why I haven't been updating this blog as much as I'd like lately, but hey, I'm still around. You just need to click a few buttons to get to me, that's all.

Now excuse me as I go defend my Top 10 FPS list.

Your FPS list sucked solely because none of the games you listed had any of the Sheep's ideas on how to make shooters not suck.

@1PMrFister I'm ready throw that list out of the window when the first suckbanning atomic teabag deathmatch FPS comes out.

@NeonNinja As I said, feel free to prove you can do better.

I don't recall that line.  What I do know is that would basically be impossible.  All I would be doing is providing a different list based on my opinion and I likely would come under fire from as many people for excluding certain games or including others.  You aptly describe the list as your personal favorites and not objectively the best, so it can't really be topped and I would be in the same boat if I were to create one.

The fact of the matter is that I haven't played games like Killzone to consider them.  Your list did succeed in nurturing my growing interest in Cryostasis.  But the reason I criticize the list is just a matter of opinion.

It includes games I love (Metro 2033, F.E.A.R. and Crysis), it includes games that I simply don't care for (Team Fortress 2, Battlefield, STALKER and BioShock) and it includes games I haven't played (ARMA II, Red Orchestra 2 and Cryostasis).  There's nothing wrong with the list, it's just not something I can necessarily agree with.  I don't see how me creating  a different list would make any difference other than to put a different opinion out there.

Like I said, I don't recall that line of proving I can do better.  I also refuse that offer because it wouldn't be "better" it would only be "different."  If you'd be interested in reading a different list I wouldn't mind creating it.  But otherwise I don't see the point at all.

When I wrote "lame list" I was using my phone, so I couldn't say much else. :P

Don't get me wrong here, I don't like the list.  It has 3 games on it that I enjoyed and of the three I haven't played I only have an interest in Cryostasis, the other two look like games I won't enjoy at all.  But that doesn't mean you're wrong.  You can make a list of your favorites and it will stand as a list of your favorites.  No one call tell you you're wrong.

@NeonNinja Well, your initial comment called it a 'lame list' without specifying why, so I was merely interested in seeing what other people thought was missing.
