What, am I the only one?

Certainly seems like I'm the only one who enjoyed Capcom's remake of Mega Man X on the PSP. That game gets more spin time in my UMD drive than most of my other games, and I have a pretty decent selection. I mean, c'mon, the three SNES MMX games were the best ones, and everyone knows it. I've replayed them on my old, beaten-up SNES more times than I've played the rest of the series combined. And the best thing is, these were remakes done right. The graphics were great, the remixed music was great, and the new Vile mode was great. Add in the cool new animated scenes (even if I think they're needlessly complicating the story by retconning it into oblivion) and you've got a pretty sweet deal.

So...what gives? Where're Mega Man Maverick Hunter X 2 and 3? It's been how long now since the first one was put out? I thought it was a no-brainer to release the next two. I mean, for the love of God, if there's one thing Capcom isn't afraid to do, it's milk the everloving crap out of the Mega Man franchise, so I fail to see why the one milking I WANT to see happening isn't. So, am I really the only one who bought it, and the lousy sales are why the other two aren't being given the same treatment, or did Capcom just get distracted by something shiny?

The "elusive" Perfect 10 -- or, a rant on user reviews.

People don't seem to realize that by freely tossing around perfect 10's in their user reviews, they aren't helping -- at all. Just because you enjoy a game -- even if you enjoy it a lot -- does not mean it has no flaws and is automatically as good as it gets, and can't be improved upon in any meaningful way. All these bogus reviews do is inflate the average user score, which makes it more difficult for a person like me to make a judgement call without wading through all these annoyingly unhelpful gush-fests to find a handful of honest, useful reviews. The same goes for the complete opposite, as well: the (usually undeserved) bottom of the barrel 1's.

In short: put more thought into your review of a game, or don't review it at all, folks.
