  A week in gaming's history !

  Well , what a great week for Gaming.

  Gears of war 2 arrived at my doorstep , so to did Call of duty 5. Both in the same week. I swiftly begun to take on Gears. I wielded my lancer, ran face first into the huge armies and cohorts of enemys to find myself having an immense amount of immersive fun.

  Gears really impressed me. Gears 2 has not just impressed me but removed my devout pledge to always say halflife 2 is the best game series ever to say the gears of war series is the best game series i have ever played.

  Now a game like that doesnt come along everyday. Nor every year. But it took 10 years to take the throne and its diamond bathed crown anway from Halflife.

  Well a bit about why. You begin, in Jacinto ; the last human settlement safe from the Locust. The story builds up, you engage the locust. Your into the fight within minutes of playing. The adrenaline pumps through your body and all you want to do is kick ass. You watch the speech of the senator. The war must end. And upon your shoulders be it. This isnt just any petty game where you go out and fight , you help dom along the way. You save stranded. You complete you goal to within an inch of your life.#

  The game ends abruptly. Jacinto is gone. The hollow fills with water. The game for which you have spent from 4-8 hour playing ends. You feel an almighty power of glory and joy. You may just have saved the entire human race.

  Call of Duty 5

  So you start the game , captured by the Japanese. Watching your comrades die. Being tortured. Scared for life, or put to death. Then suddenly Americans save the day. Kill the Japanese and instantly ingage you in the fight. But sadly the gameplay left me with a sort of disapointment. I really really wanted this game to be good. Really wanted it too. But from the start i was disapointed. As you do you carry on playing through. And after 2 chapters i thought. You know what , this aint 'arf bad. The gameplay picked up its pace. The enemies strengthened. The variety of objectives widened. You were in a fully fledged war. Gun shot after gunshot , kill after kill the game goes on to get better. Whether playing as the soviets or the USA you really want to suceed.

  I havent yet finished this game. Playing through on hardcore , i am finding challenging . But im ploughing through. I can tell that this game will on ever get better. And the COD series will go from strength to strength. And i will play all the games they can thow at me.

  Summary

  So after a week of gaming Valhalla i can say to you all. Gears and Cod are sublime. Gears in particular. If there are ever times of boredome these are the 2 games i will just pick up and play

  Gears of war 2 - 9.5/10

  Cod 5 - 8.5/10

  New PC

  So finally i have my new PC

  A Dell Xps 420 - Insanely powerful and quick

  Quad core - 4 gb ram - 512 nvidia gfx (second one ordered).

  Runs like a dream , makes games look better than i could imagine. !

  I would reccomend this pc to all !

  Release dates ?

  What exactly do these mean nowadays .............

  "Due for release 29/05/07" - Are you sure ?

  One real example for this is GTA IV , i mean what the hell happened there ? 16th october - 29th april !

  Thats rediculous ! and why ....... well its the damn PS3 isnt it , or at least that was a "contributing factor to its late release"

  Another example - GT5 , Late , Why , PS3 !

  Im not blaming the ps3 for every game being late , just these are two example that affected me.

  All i want to be told is a date that they can DEFINITELY release the game by , not a date that only a god could release a game by!!

  So i hope you can understand my frustration and maybe even be able to relate to this frustration !

  Thats all , and so much for my GT5 review at the end of april , its been dalayed until september ! (thats almost a year late ! )
