Captian's Log

This where you can find all Logs I have compose.
I just saw Iron Man !!!

Now i know what you are expecting a long winded review on this movie but you won't find it here. What i will tell you is this movie is AWESOME!!!! Hell way better than Spider Man and that is a tall shoe to fill. From start to finish you will be like OMFG! I give my props to the director because he did Iron Man justice. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is prefect. Everyone was perfect for the part and off course the suit. OMFG!!! I can't say that enough. This movie was awesome. Now this is how you start off the summer blockbuster. Now i have to see if Dark Knight will trumiph this Iron Man. By the way Iron Man is my all time favorite character in the Marvel Universe. Batman is my number one in DC.

PS MAKE SURE TO STAY AFTER THE CREDITS ROLL. I REPEAT STAY AFTER THE CREDITS ROLL. STAY AFTER THE CREDITS ROLL!!!.

Metal Gear Online Beta Impressions.

Captains Log April 28, 2008

After many delays and plenty of screenshots and videos to get everyones mouth watering I finally got a chance to get a preview of MGO. Now for some of you may have already know the extra steps you have to take to get into this beta and i am not going to highlight them because it is a beta and things happen. As for the Beta itself it does have a learning curve to it but if you ever played MGO on the PS2 you know what to expect.

For the controls as i said has a learning curve to it but i think the fact that this game is meant to be played after you played MGS4. SO that way you can familiarize yourself with the controls. They did include a training mode that shows you step by step what you can do. Now I am not saying the controls are perfect but for MGO game it is pretty good. Others might find the controls backwards but I doubt any of them ever played MGO.

For the graphics I think for a game of this size and what it is doing is impressive considering this game is being made for the Japanese and the West jointly. From what i saw so far is the amount of detail given to every aspect of the game. I mean when you walk in mud it makes a imprint in the mud and even leaves a track which will give your enemy a heads up to where you are going. THe real problem as of right now is the frame-rate. It is fine when it is just under 10 players but when the explosions start to happen it starts to take a hit to the point of bullet time. Which i think they can fix real easy with the resources they have already put into the game.

Now for movement. A lot of people are complaining that the game movement as in the character you control is way to slow. My impression is leave it like it is. One of the "Skills" you can add to your character greatly increases your speed so that is how you deal with that but people need to understand that this is METAL GEAR. NOT COD4 or HALO. There is no need to make them any faster than they are because that will turn the game into a run and gun game which is not Metal Gear.

Now for my favorite part of this game is the Skill System. At first glance it may look like a complete rip off of COD4's Perk System but after playing more with them they are alot more to it than just a shiny new skill. At any given time before the you launch a game or right before the game starts you can change which skills you want. But the difference is in what the skills do. For example: Right now at any given moment i can have up to 4 skills for my charcter which are Throwing Mastery, Enemy Exposure, Fast Mov., and Hand Gun Mastery.

Throwing Mastery if you add it will allow you to throw a grenade farther. THe more you throw grenades or what ever the more experience you get for that particular skill will allow you to move on to Throwing Mastery Level 2. Which will allow you to throw the grenade alot farther than you were able to before. Each skill so far in the beta can be leveled up to level 3. Also there is more than just the usual weapon skills but there are some for those who want to help out the team by linking up threw SOP ( Sons of the Patriots). For example: Enemy Exposure LV.1 Displays enemies you've attacked. Can share data through SOP. THink of it as a constant link with your team where if you shot the enemie they automatically are told thru SOP where the attacker is at. I think this skill system is going to really awesome once we see the full range of things you can do with it.

As for the Maps they are pretty awesome and it allows a variety of sniping areas and grunt work. There are up and down areas where you want to keep a close eye out on. Plenty of places for you to use your cardboard box. LOL!!! There are only 2 maps so far in the beta but the on launch day therey will be 5 that comes with MGS4 and later maps will be realeased sometime that summer.

In all I for one can go to sleep with ease knowing that my 2nd favorite series of all time is going to surprise alot of MG fans and might be able to pull some of those COD4, HALO, or RSV fans but I doubt it. THe beta is slated to end on May 11 but for many it ends tonight because of a little game called GTA4. I hope this preview gave you some kind of idea of what MGO is like.

Metal Gear Online Beta Delayed Indefinitely

http://ps3.kombo.com/article.php?artid=6667

Looks like i won't playing the beta anytime soon but that is ok. I am not going to go off on a rant like many of the players out there. But this is a good thing. Beleive me the last thing you want to happen is a bunch of people playing the beta and it is laggy as hell. Which would deter people from buying it.

If you ask me i think Konami was getting a little ahead of themselves by releasing the beta in alot of different terrotries rather than one at a time. But this is a blessing because you know if they are willing to hold off something like this because they were not statisfied with what they had up in running says something about Konmia. Which gives them more props.

In the end we will be getting one the best games this generation can offer come June 12.

Just amazing. I mean really amazing.

If you haven't heard already a new MK game has been announced and as usual people are ready to throw there pitch forks at midway for doing something different. I mean just go read some of the comments on the game by regular users and you will see what i am talking. PEOPLE PLEASE!!! GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE!!! From what i am reading from mulitple websites they are saying this is the end for Midway.

I don't see it that way. I see it as the direct opposite. For once i am excited about a MK game and for good reason. It is different and there is a huge chance for success here if people give it a chance. It is not like we have tons of NEW cross over games while not having a "M" Ratings does sound distasteful but that doesn't mean it will a bad game if it doesn't. IN this generation to many games have been the same with very few bright spots avaiable.

I give Midway and Ed Boon for taking a chance when it could of been easy to just make a Next Gen MK. Also you have to look at the developers point of view. Don't you think after 16 years of making the same game over and over again with a few improvements tends to get old right? So why change it up in a big way that will force you to do something new. Now am i asking for the next revolution in fighters? No. Am i looking for plausible storylines in a fighter? Nope. I am just looking for something new and this game sure fits the bill.

To the fans of MK i know how you feel. When Capcom decided to get rid of the pre-rendered graphics and static camera angles I just knew my Resident Evil was never going to be the same. But it was a blessing in disguise. Resident Evil had to evolve. It had to change because the series was getting old. So i know what it is like but there is equal amount of chances for it being really good. I read the preview and it really sounds pretty cool. That is where i stand.

The biggest mistake made this year!!!

I just want to let everyone know that I regret trading in Call of Duty 4 to get Rainbow Six Vegas 2. After many weeks of playing Rainbow i come to miss the things that Call of Duty 4 does so well like MATCHMAKING, Variety of different maps, and the all mighty run system. Yes i know alot of people are going to say you don't like tactical or a thinking man game and you are right. And it is not only that RSV2 feel likes it was rushed and comes off as a expansion more than anything. Funny thing is i never played the first one.

I would like to think that after playing so many games on PC and buying expansion packs that i can tell it is a expansion game. RSV2 is a expansion pack for 60 bucks that is just plain wrong. Also the game has plenty of network and single player problems as well. Sometimes you get stuck on the ladder on Villa and then there is the lag issues accompanied with the god awefull lobby. I know . I know. What do you expect from lobby system but there is gotta be a better way to play ranked matches. TO many times i join a room which take about 10-15mins to fill up. Then when the game does start right when you are about to win the host ends the game . I surprise in a way that people still do that considering i expected RSV players to be more mature than that but i guess not.

Anyway i just want to let everyone know that i made mistake in trading in COD4 for RSV2. It feels so good to be playing the real deal.

UPDATE!! Newsweeks NGai Croal On The Resident Evil 5 Trailer

I recommend everyone read this if you have any issues or problems witht he direction the Resident Evil 5 Trailer took .

Here the link to the whole article.

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/04/10/newsweeks-ngai-croal-on-the-resident-evil-5-trailer-this-imagery-has-a-history/

I think everyone has the right to have an opinion and while i respect this guy for telling what he felt about it I still come off as to saying how can we judge base off a 3min trailer? If anything Resident Evil has been doing this for years. I understand the history in these imagies but we cannot allow that to stop exploring it. I am black and I am not at all offended by the trailer and i am die hard RE fan. I think people are just overacting to events like this and making a big deal out of it for what? Now maybe i don't understand or naive enough to not know but this is 2008 and most people my age don't think this way. Who knows maybe just maybe that is how it looks in that part of world so how can it be racist?

UPDATE!!! Here is Adam Sessler's take on the whole Resident Evil 5 "Racist Imagery"
