    God_of_War_logo.pngTHE ENTIRE SERIES. {PART 1}

This is a re-review on not just one, but the 4 God of War games I've reviewed. These 4 are: God of War 1, 2, 3, and Chains of Olympus.  I will also include reviews of Ghost of Sparta, and the newly released Ascension. All the games will be reviewed in order they were released in. And I will also be covering the HD re-release of The PS2 games, and the PSP games. And at the end, I will give my opinion on the franchise as a whole. So, with that said, let's not waste any more time. Let's get started.

    Gowbox.jpgGOD OF WAR

When i was at Gamestop, i saw this game. I thought 'Huh looks, kinda cool.' Then i turn the case around then i read the fine print on the back of the box. "YOU ARE KRATOS, AND YOU WILL MURDER THE GOD OF WAR!" Then i was like 'ok.' Then i bought it, played it, and I loved very minute of it.

Released In 2005,  The game was getting 9's and 10's all over the place. So, after 8 years since it was released, does the game aged well? Let's find out.

In case you haven't heard of him, you play as Kratos, a spartan warrior. And he is tasked to kill the God of War. Simple as that.

The graphics for its time were awesome. And the music, still as epic as ever.  The gameplay, Let's say you got done playing Devil May Cry, and then your moving on to this game. The combat is smooth, fast, and eye-poppingly gory. The game is bloody, and over the top. And thats awesome. Though it can get a little button mashy at times, and it can get a little repetitive. If theres one thing I not a fan of though, is the Quick Time Events. However, they are for the most part optional, aside from the bosses. The game controls really fluently, and excellent. I've never had a problem there.

But what really stands in God of War, or every game in the series for that matter, is the mythology it represents. Greek Mythology. I've been of fan of it, it's really intresting. I'm am impressed of the imagination that went into this, seeing serpents, cyclopes, minotaurs, medusas, the Greek Gods. They took all of that, and made it into it's own Game series. And the character Kratos, is a bad-ass, with actually, a really great backstory.

God of War is a fantastic game, The gameplay is solid, the music is awesome, and the whole Idea of taking Greek Mythology, and making it into a game back then was an outstanding idea. Not only do I think The game has aged well, but I consider it one of the best PS2 games I've ever played, period.

    OLD SCORE: 10/10

    NEW SCORE: 9.5/10

    THE GAME STILL HOLDS UP.

    Gow2-2.jpgGOD OF WAR II

The sequel came out in 2007. And guess what else was around at that time? The PS3. This was one the last games that Sony put on the PS2 before moving on to the PS3. Also, the PS3 wasn't doing well at time. So this was not only a good way to bring it out on the PS2 for bettter sales, but also stands as a departure for the PS2. A 'swan song' if you wanna call it. So does this one aged well? Well, let me tell ya.

The story is that Kratos is now the God Of War, the other Gods are not liking what he's doing. Zeus tried to kill you, so now Kratos is going after Zeus. Theres more Gods in this game than the previous one, which mean more bosses. Which means that God of War II is a much longer game. And theres my biggest problem with the sequel. Though the game is better in variety, i do think the game is a lot more longer than it needs to be, making God of War II, a slightly tiring experience. With the first game, the length in that game was perfect, not to long, or short. Just right. In the sequel however, it tends to drag a little bit. But does that make it a bad game? OF COURSE NOT!

The gameplay is better. The combat has been tweaked, though like the first game can just leave you button mashing, and theres variety in the gameplay, there's more puzzles, different weapons, powers, and theres flying sections in the game. The soundtrack just as fantastic as the first game. and The graphics is some of the Best the PS2 had to offer.

However, since theres is more gameplay, that also means more Quick time events, in the first game, most of them were optional. With the sequel however, They're EVERYWHERE! Since theres more boss fights, most of them have quick time events. And they for the most part, a pain. Ok, the QTE's are still optional for main enemies. But since they're more bosses, that kinda doesn't mean much.

But the one that really got me hanging "literally' was the ending. When i played this the first time. I got to this ending. My only impression was 'seriously?' Now What happens in the ending is cool. But it also ends....with a cliffhanger. Now keep in mind, this is before God of War III came out. And you come across this ending. Won't you be a little let down? Yes, i know another sequel was in mind, but we had to wait 3 years for it. So imagine, playing it, beaten it, got the ending, waiting 3 years for God of War III. It just really left me hanging for a long...long time.

So in conclusion, God of War II is a damn good sequel, but after the years went on, I have to say though I think the game has aged well, I do think the game has started to become less enjoyable. No to say the game is bad, it's awesome. But isn't what i would call the best God of War.

    OLD SCORE: 9.5/10

    NEW SCORE: 8.5/10

GAME HAS AGED WELL, THOUGH NOT AS GOOD AS IT USE TO BE.

Both of these games has been released on the PS3. So, how about we take a look at these.

    God_of_War_Collection_Cover.jpg

It's basically the first 2 games only it looks a little better. The load times are shorter. However, besides that, theres not much difference. One thing that is worth noting its though the game has been a second coat of paint, the cut-scenes on the other hand, haven't been, they look like the same that was on the PS2. Making them look awkward. It also has trophy support. So if you collecting those, there you go.

Overall, this is probably the best way to play these 2 games. If you have a PS3. Go ahead and pick this up.

THIS IS THE END OF PART 1 of the God of War re-reviews. For PART 2, I'll be re-reviewing God of War: Chains of Olympus, and God of War III. So make sure you check for that.

What do you think of God of War 1 or God of War 2. Post of comment below.

    Thanks.

I just noticed I'm at Level 30, and it's been almost 5 years since I've been on Gamespot!

How time flys! I rememberred being on here the very first writing reviews. And even though a good amount of them were'nt written very well, I did found a way to share my opinion. Even if I don't really agree with the rating system entirely.

Hmm....maybe I should do something to celebrate. How about if I wrote a blog talking about my Top 30 Personal Favortie Games? Or maybe my Top 30 Favorite Reviews.

    I'll think about something.

It's about time we got a actual release date for this.

In case you haven't heard, Pikmin 3 is my most anticipated game this year. I grew with The First 2 games on Gamecube, and I played then again on the Wii. Both games, awesome! When I saw Pikmin 3's trailer, I literally lost my mind.....in a good way.

It was meant to be launch title, until it got delayed again, and again. Until today, It was announced that It was going to released in America on AUGUST 4th. Well, now that I got a release date for this game. I know exactly what to do....Buy a Wii U.

    500px-PlayStation_4_logo.svg.png

About a month ago, I written a blog about how I'm not moving forward in gaming, and saying I'm staying in this generation. Well, even though I might be staying, I cannot deny how impressive the PS4 is looking.

It seems that Sony realized the problematics the PS3 had. They kinda said that at the announcement it seems. But one thing that everyone is going crazy over is how powerful the system is. According to opinion, it seems to have 16 times more the power of the PS3. So... It's Able to make ps3 games look like crap in comparison, and is also powerful than a Blu-Ray player..impressive...maybe a little too impressive.

The one thing that caught my one is the controller, and....what the...

    DualShock_4.png

LOOK AT THIS THING! It looks like a mini-boomerang with buttons...oh wait..did they do that with the prototype PS3? Anyways, it looks really different than any other Playstation controller. Theres a small screen in the middle. A share button, an options button. Theres no Start and Select buttons, I guess Sony got old of those. The D-Pad looks different, and the joysticks seem to have a surface to it. And you can't see it on the picture here, but the L1 R1 buttons have a rounded shape to it, and the L2 R2 buttons are triggers, not like the PS3 triggers, which were...not really good to be honest. But these look like triggers.

Also, you can use the Vita as a controller, as well as see games on the Vita's screen, similar to the Wii U. And the PS Move controller is also returning to the PS4, but anything else from the PS3 will NOT be returning, which brings me to one problem. No backwards compatiblity, no PS3, PSN, PS1, PS3 controllers! Nothing. Oh except for that freaking Move controller. Gotta have that thing that nobody uses!

Another problem is that theres not many games i'm excited about. But i'm sure there maybe something soon.

But it seems that the PS4 easily has something good in its belt, overall, I'm impressed. WILL IT GET IT? Well, if they release this.

    Thats all I want.

    Diablo_III_cover.png

Yeah, i know i'm a little late on this. But I've been busy. Anyways, Diablo III, the PC game released last year. Has been announced...again. For PS3 and PS4. Now, I could be up and arms about it, but actually, I'm looking forward for it.

Why? Well for one reason, and one reason only. Offline Play. Being online at all times just to play alone is something I really hate, and Diablo III on PC was exactly like that. The PS3 and PS4 versions will NOT be like that. Thank God!

    Also 4-Player Co-Op? Yes Please!

    bioshock_infinite_ps31.jpg

According to ALL the research I found, Infinite on PS3 is coming with a whole copy of Bioshock. Well, thats kinda cool. I mean, I've played the game 3 times, so It won't matter to me in the slightest. But hey, thats kinda cool.

    boxart.jpg

Oh God, where do I Begin?

Back in the day, or 2006ish. I got this, and I liked it back then. I mean, REALLY liked it. I got into it, enjoyed it, beaten it. The works. And in 2009 i did a review of it. So, i though I would revisit it in 2013.

This...this game hasn't aged well, folks. I mean, I knew back then It wasn't perfect, but now, Man, something happened. But...Let's not waste time, let's dive in.

The gameplay has gotten something different added, Guns! And the one thing that has held up is the gunplay, it actually isn't bad. You can shoot, aim, and blow up things just fine. And sure, you don't have to use them. So if your the type of person who would'nt use gun, there you go. And the gameplay as a whole isn't bad either, there a lot in the design of each stage, theres a lot to do in them, and the style of the previous games in noticeable, and you can find enjoyment there

But the one thing that really gotten bad is the controls, I knew they were not good to start with, but...No...they're bad. Especially when your using moves like Shadows homing attack, or running at a particular fast speed, leading to some unexpected and frustrating deaths, And the camera, while not the worst, it does give you some of the worst ways to lose you sight of Shadow, especially when trying to jump to something.

The game doesn't look that impressive either, the visuals are bleek and bland, of course theres the one of two exceptions. But those one of two exceptions are so flashy and colorful that it strains my eyes from just looking at them, it  looks like a Dreamcast game. Some of The cutscenes look nice though.

    shadowthehedgehog-5.jpg

The one thing i guess I should bring up is the music, While not the best in a Sonic game, there is some memorable tracks in there. Along with some good Boss Battle music.

Something about it that intrested me back then, was the good and bad style of gameplay, the ablity to go to different stages using this. Leaving to many playthroughs. Now, it's a chore, going back to replay the same stage over and over and over just gets not only repetitive, but boring. However it does add variety to it's level design. And theres replay value here, if by value, i mean PADDING the game. Going back to the first level again and again just to play all the levels is a pain. You see, theres a last story, how do you get it? Unlock Ten Endings. How you get them? By going thru each last stage in a good of evil way..Twice! This is padding in the worst way possible. And after the 3rd time going thru, i got tired.

Theres a multiplayer mode! But it fells so tacked on that it's not even worth. Seriously, got back to Adventure 2: Battle for that.

I guess it was intresting back then, but now, Shadow the Hedgehog is just a big screw-up, and with the amount of potential wasted, this game doesn't hold up. I may have enjoyed when I was younger. But now, at the age of 16, Shadow the Hedgehog is a boring, frustrating experience that I had NO IDEA why I played it.

    ORIGINAL SCORE: 8.5/10

    NEW SCORE: 5/10

    Wha...What happened??

Well, its a shame...I use to play the heck out of this, but now, it hasn't held up. Oh well, the next Re-Review we'll be looking at a big series of games. And with a New one coming out soon. I think you know what next.

Well, a new generation is on the rise, with systems like the PS4 being announced. And with systems like The Wii U being released, I can safely say....I'm Done. And with so many games, stretching from Sixth-Seventh generation. Theres no need for me to move forward.

Sure, I'll get the Wii U, but mainly because I can use an upscale on Wii games, and Virtual Console, as well as some Nintendo exclusives I eagerly waiting for. I got a 360, I'm getting another PS3. I still have a Gamecube. And with Backwards Compatiblity, and XBL Arcade/PSNetwork Games, and HD Re-Releases happening around every corner, There's no reason for me to move forward to the Eighth Generation.

But anyways, what do I have against these New consoles coming out? Well, Nothing at all. I'm sure they'll give us different game experiences. I just wish it didn't have to be this soon. With the 360 and PS3 having Life still in them. It makes me wonder. Why Move Forward at all?

I could be the only one who thinks, or I could be alone.  So, what do you think of this upcoming generation of systems? Post a comment, let me know what you think.

2013. So the world didn't end then? Hmm....

Ok, joke aside. They're some games that I am excited about. Some were suppose to be released last year. But whatever. These are my Most anticipated games of 2013. Now they are in NO particular order. So....here we go.

    Official_cover_art_for_Bioshock_InfiniteBioshock Infinite.

This was meant to be released in Oct. 2012, then it got delayed in Feb. 2013......Then got delayed again till March. Hmm...this is sounding familar...But anyways. I been a big fan of Bioshock 1, and 2! So, I Can't wait what Infinite has to offer. It's looking really intresting, and the gameplay looks rather good as well. We'll See.

    250px-Boxart.pngPikmin 3.

The Wii U just came out, and once again, another game that got delayed was Pikmin 3. One of my favorite series's of all time, Pikmin finally gets a third installment. The trailer looked fantastic, and the Rock Pikmin look intresting. No Official Release Date has been announced yet, except for Spring 2013. Let's hope it get's released this year.

    God_of_War_Ascension.jpgGod of War: Ascension.

GOD OF WAR? HELL YEAH!! I love the God of War series. So i can't for this one. It's seems there going all the way back with Kratos, even before Chains of Olympus. This will be interesting. We'll get to see how it all started. Also, theres also a special PS3 bundle with all the games, Which Yours Truly, will be picking up, in March 12th.

SC2_Heart_of_the_Swarm_cover.jpgStarcraft II Expansion: Heart of the Swarm

I love Starcraft II, the gameplay, the music, the effort that was put into all of it was astounding. So how about an Expansion? Sure, why not? This time, we get to play as Kerrigan, returned in her human form, taking place 2 years after Wings of Liberty. It will be released of Mar. 12th, the same day Ascension comes out, so Looks like I'll be busy. Can't Wait.

    270px-Luigi%27s_Mansion_Dark_Moon_%28BoxLuigi's Mansion 2.

Finally after 12 years we get a sequel to one of the most underapprciated games ever. But......One thing worries me with this game. And that..is the Art Style. Now in the first game it had a nice awesome "Haunting" style to it. The second one looks like it's going for the cartoonish approuch. Ghosts are more cuter than ever, Luigi's looks more scared than ever, and the Mansion's doesn't look great like it did before. What i'm basically saying is that The charm of the first one seems gone in the second one, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna give it a fair chance. I'm gonna get it, but i will be skeptical on Mar. 24th.

    tumblr_mcqm8pQ4is1rrd98so1_500.pngTLoZ: Wind Waker HD.

This might be Strange to a lot of people. But...I have never played The Wind Waker. *shock* Yeah...I was kinda late for Wind Waker, Is it good? I've seen footage, a little bit of an LP on Youtube, and reviews for it seem high. Declaring it as one of the greats in the series. I haven't played it. So...maybe It'll be cool to try to HD version on Wii U...when it comes out. People have said it's great. So maybe, this might be a good one to get.

    _________________________________________

Well That's it. Some game I'm Ready to see in 2013. What's your most antcipated? Got something to say at my picks? Post a comment, Let me know what you think.

    Oddworld_-_Munch%27s_Oddysee_Coverart.pn

You probably remember these guys. Oddworld Inhabitants. creators of series called....well....Oddworld. The company has made games. From The Playstation, to the XBOX, to even the Game Boy.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee was the very 1st Game review I've ever did on Gamespot. And since I'm now Re-Reviewing games, I think I'll choose this as my first re-review.

This was gonna be originally released for the PS2, but ended up as a Launch Title for the original XBOX, Munch's Oddysee wasn't really quite the success, well...it was, but..umm compared to Halo, that launch title that EVERYBODY knows. It didn't do well in comparison.

The Oddworld games been called a lot of things some call them a platformer game, some call them a puzzle game. I call them both. The old games Abe's Oddysee, and Abe's Exodduswere in 2-D, or sidescrolling. While Munch's Oddysee, we see something ambitous for them, a 3-D game.

So, how is it? Does it hold up? Well, let's find out.

The story with our character, a Gabbit, Munch, is that he is looking for the rest of his species, which is near-extinction, and the eggs are harvested, and are in cans of Gabbiar. "Get it?" And it's up to Munch, and returning character Abe, to save the day.

The gameplay is very different from the other 2 previous games on PS1, It's in 3-D, which you thing it maybe cool. But I have this complaint, due to the 3-D nature of this game, the pace of the game is all over the place. One minute you'll be rescuing some guys, and the next minute, you'll have to be dodging stuff. I mean, Sure, a change of pace is ok. But here, it's over the place. But once you pick up the pace, you'll notice an awesome variety in gameplay.

Theres 2 tutorial levels I guess you can say, since theres 2 main characters that you play as. As well as switch and swap between the two. From both characters, you can tell that they both have different gameplay style to both, where combining that, and you get a bizzare, though well executed, combination.

The controls take time to get use to, one problem off the bat, is that the D-pad moves the camera, and Clicking the Right-Stick attacks, uses weapons etc. Moving it does nothing at all. But stick with it, and you should be ok.

The visuals, what can i say? For the time they were amazing. In fact, i thought the graphics in this game were in better Halo back then. And the cutscenes are the best....ever.

    Foto+Oddworld%3A+Munchs+Oddysee%2C.jpg124413399_96ab3192e6_z.jpg?zz=1

Yeah, pretty good for its time, huh?

And the whole game overall, still holds up, it was good for its time, and it's still good now. And even better now, Oddworld is actually well-known enough, to not only earned, but deserved an HD remake. Even Stranger's Wrath got an HD re-release. However, it's only of the PS3, and Vita. PC versions are also released, but...probably not the best way to play it.

Either way, get a copy, and...while your at it, get an original XBOX, because this game is NOT Compatible with X360, well it says it is, but's it runs so poorly it doesn't even count.

    ORIGINAL SCORE:8/10

    NEW SCORE: 8/10

    THE GAME HOLDS UP.

the next re-review will take a look at an old childhood game of mine,

and judging from my channel username,I think you know what's next...

Would you guys like to have more in-depth Re-Reviews of games I've already looked at?

I did a good amount of reviews. And since those my opinion has changed. And I was thinking....how would you like the see reviews done in a blog-style. What I mean is I'll basically be posting re-reviews, just like posting blogs. Pictures and everything.

Let me know what you think.

    Missed Me?Probably Not, Doesn't Matter.

I'm back, and I'm ready to share my opinion and review more Stuff!

Over the past years, not only have i gotten Tired, but I've been busy. Busy with what? Well...my friend and I have been busy with our YouTube channel. So if you want to, you can take a look at that.Even though I do alot stuff thats pretty the same on YouTube, i can't help but keep returning to GameSpot. I have been a follower of this website for a long time. Even though i didn't get an account til 2009, I've allways visited this site.

And Man, has it went downhill.

The Reviews are terrible here, allmost every review it seems that seem to criticize the heck out of it and get a high score. Or Praise it to Death, and give it a low score. There doesn't seem to be many reviews that explains the negatives much either. In fact, almost every gamesite has been like that...IGN....GameSpot......GameInformer.....it's all BS for the most part.

No wonder the community on this site leaving...just look at whats left of the community. I mean, occasionally you'll find some awesome people on here. But for the most part. It's Arguing Trolls. They have no reason, no evidence, or no experince or information to back up their argument or opinion, take the Wii U for example. When it was coming out. People where just trolling by saying "It sucks" or "Looks like s**t" or even "It will rot!" Yeah, as if they tried it themselves, and know everything about it. It's a new system! Give it a chance, and it will improve. The PS3 did, and look at it now.

But enough with Gamespot, enough with trolls, and enough with console comparison....I'M BACK!

Stuff IS coming soon. I will give you a list of Reviews that I'll be doing. Do more blogs, maybe some Top 10's....And hopefully...I'll do more videos this time around....of course I got Youtube for that...but maybe I'll upload some exclusive stuff. How about that?

It's good to be back...I'll see all of you next time.
