All About FiSTfromHell
As a longtime Battlefield and Call of Duty franchise (respectively) fan I have enjoyed both series for as long as they have been around. I will be getting my Hardened Edition copy today via mail. I don't like to pass judgements before I actually play a game, however I will admit that the negative reviews from users have had me reconsider opening the game case to begin with.
I play BF3 multiplayer alot, and it is enjoyable, and even thrilling most matches. Where it really holds my attention is when I get together with a well-greased death machine of a team that uses their brains and technique to secure victory. In the Campaign, I found myself enjoying it throughout, but disappointed that it was too similar to the Modern Warfare storyline in some aspects. I often just forget about CO-OP, so that's all I'll say about that.
What I loved about the CoD series is how fast the multiplayer is, the player progression in recent years (as is with BF3), and how satisfying it can be to totally dominate the other team in TDM and S&D. The Campaigns have almost always been good at worst, awesome at best. They feel like an interactive movie, and I love that. The various CO-OP modes are also pretty enjoyable, and noteworthy.
In a few hours though, I will judge MW3 on what it is as a stand alone game, and equally what it is as a part of a trilogy - because that is what it is. I have great hope, and if it can keep me away from BF3 and Skyrim, like MW2 and MW did for me in the past with other awesome recent releases, then I feel Activision will have succeeded in releasing MW3 and not 'MW2.5'.
