  If It Ain't Broke, Don't Break It

  Just thought I'd comment on how badly this new Gamespot layout sucks.

  CONS:
  - Manages to be less attractive than its predecessor.
  - A game's review score isn't featured on the same page as the review.
  - Page loading times seem longer.
  - Reviews aren't written any more frequently.

  PROS:
  - Enabling comments on reviews will likely reduce "OMG I can't believe my fav game evar got an 8.5 I think Im gonna kill myslef" threads on the forums, reducing clutter.

  Hopefully C-net can get their act together and realize that the problem isn't with the layout, it's that they have no one to review the games, which I believe was the modus operandi of this site to begin with.

  Cancelled my Xbox Live Gold account...

  So as of two Sundays ago, my XBL Gold account expired and I'm now a lowly Silver member again. As many among you know, I'm on my 3rd Xbox 360 and was frustrated with the DRM issues -- which hadn't been fixed until I went out and bought my PS3.

  As you also may know, I like most of my gaming to be delegated to one console, and currently that's my PS3. My PSN ID is jqtaxpayer for those interested. With the DRM issues now fixed and all of the former PS3 exclusives going to Xbox 360, I might be switching back again if Sony doesn't pull something out of their hat by the end of the year, however.

  For those wondering how I'm financially managing these console switches, I've been switching between Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of games by Goozex -- which is a service that gives you fair market value for person-to-person video game trades. Check it out, it'll save you a bundle. Oh, and I also trade services for currency, commonly known as "having a job".
