Search your mind or your bags?
I have just come across an article about a new technology that might soon be implemented in US airports. It is called MALINTENT and it takes facial and bodily cues and runs them through a computer system that can tell if you intend to commit a terrorist act or smuggle drugs. The article can be found at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,426485,00.html?56 . This new system will be able to shorten lines at the airport considerably by being able to process people in no more than 2 to 4 minutes, usually less. The first set of tests have proceeded without a hitch and look very promising.
I can just see everyone getting up in arms about this being an invasion of privacy and the whole "big brother" argument, but is this really more intrusive than going through your belongings? Personally I would rather have them just be able to "look" at me and know that I have no plans on messing with my flight than making me take off my shoes, put my bags through a scanner, empty my pockets, and wave me with a metal detector. However, I am curious to see what other people have to say about it. Leave me a comment and let me know. If I feel there is enough interest, then I might bring the topic over to the forum of the Monkey's Writing Shakespeare Union. If you are not a member, you should be. That's all for now. Catch you later.

Making new friends on GS
I'm all about making friends here at gamespot, although you probably wouldn't notice from all of the comments that I get for my blogs. I knew that eventually someone would really see me for who I am, and I just got a PM from a nice young lady on TV.com who has.
From: Marisa23wt
hi,
i was checking around for ppl like me, and I came across ur profile. u look like you're a fairly with it dude, but I'm somewhat inexperienced on this site, & dont really know what's with this site. Can't they have some sort of chatting program here?? I hate sending msgs to ppl, & maybe not getting a responce. Anyways, if u wanna chattin' with me, you could find me over @ http://www.dateplaza.org/?id=3592&mypics , my name there is wild_kitty.
So, ya, hope to meet up with you there. always looking to meet more people.
Vivian ScottWell, wild_kitty, you will not be getting a reply from me because I know how much you hate sending msgs, and I'm working on developing a chat program for GS so we can du sum chattin'. I'm curious as to why your name is Vivian Scott, your TV.com name is Marisa, and your dateplaza.com name is wild_kitty. Well I guess once we start chattin' I can get some answers. Even though I know I'm a pretty with it dude, but I don't know what's with this site either. TV.com and GameSpot are pretty vague and you can't really tell from the homepages. Well if anyone else knows what the deal is, then someone let me and wild_kitty know over at dateplaza.org. My name there is SwingingBat33. We really need to figure this out, so, ya, we hope to meet up with you there because we are always looking to meet new people.

Netflix Gems
Welcome everyone. This is an idea that I have had for a long time, due to the fact that I have had Netflix for the past several years and I have come across more than enough wonderful movies and TV shows during that time that I feel that it would only be right to share them with my friend(s) here at GS. Now that Netflix is going to be available on XBL makes this column perfect for my fellow gamers. I am going to make this a constant column where I point out all of the movies or shows that most of you have probably never seen, or passed over when they first came out and should give a shot. First off...
THE JOB (ABC) 2001-2002 - This was a criminally underrated NYPD dramedy starring the criminally underrated Denis Leary. Also starring Lenny Clarke, Bill Nunn, Adam Ferrara, and the lovely Diane Farr (for all of you Numb3rs fans out there). This show had all of the makings of a great TV show, a great cast, smart, funny writing, and a penchant for being able to make light of serious issues without missing the big picture. The only thing the show was missing was viewers. Just when the show was starting to hit it's stride and develop deep character arcs as well as the week-in, week-out pranks and gags, it was cancelled. It wasn't always pretty, most notably when Leary's pain-killer addicted, alcoholic character's girlfriend (Karyn Parsons a/k/a Hillary Banks from Fresh Prince) crossed paths with his wife, producing some of the most cringeworthy television that I have ever seen. Brilliant, layered, and just a bit left-of-center, The Job is definately worth checking out.
Best Moment - In the pilot where the detectives intimidate a suspect under interrogation by beating up his grandmother. If that's not a reason to watch, then I don't know what is.
That's all for now folks, I'll be back soon with more gems from the Netflix vault.
