My Friends

Josh's Gamespot Blog

Welcome to my blog. I don't do many blogs (unfortunately), a bit lazy for them, even if they are only a few sentences long. But be sure to check in once in a while for some. You never know, they could catch your biggest interest!

  • 6Mar 07
I haven't blogged in a long time since I've been busy with school and playing on Xbox Live. Why not start a return blog with a "What your favorite" blog.

My favorite movie has to be Katsuhiro Otomo's most famous anime film, Akira. Akira has to be the most creative and coolest movie I have ever seen. For a film made in the late 1980s, it had a lot of futuristic visions and very nice coloring. This is was serperates the different between cartoons and anime (Besides the Graphic Violence). Akira was originally a Japanese Manga but came to the U.S. arround the 1990s. Akira was one of the first Japanese franchises to be translated in english, both the Manga and the Movie. I really enjoyed both of them.

"In the year 2019, thirty-one years have passed since the outbreak of World War III. In Neo-Tokyo, all authority is waging a never-ending struggle against the underground that virtually rules the shattered city. A top-secret child with amazing powers of the minds breaks free from custody and accidentally gets a motorcycle gang involved in the project. The incident triggers psychic powers within one of the members, Tetsuo, and he is taken by the army and experimented on. His mind has been warped and is now on the path of war, exacting revenge on the society that once called him weak." Excerpt from AnimeNewsNetwork.com

    So, whats your favorite movie?

As you may have seen, Gamespot has lots and lots of glitches in the system. The website seems to have one bug after another whether its for lvl skipping, dramatic 1 second lvl dropping, or other wierd glitches. Everytime I saw one, I used a special screen capturing program to capture these glitches and saved them as JPEGs to my computer. Well, here is what I have seen so far (You'll need to copy and paste the links in another window, I didn't want to distort the blog with uneven sized pictures):

    http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/187/4686lq6.jpg
    (I don't remember playing a game called () )

    http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/44/9999onlinecw8.jpg
(This isn't really a glitch, its just really rare to find this many people online at the same time)

    http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/9592/advertisementglitchsg1.jpg
(*Sighs* Out of all the places to make out with a Helio, why in my blog? Stupid phone...)

    http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/2435/emblemij9.jpg
(This was a momentary glitch. You were really lucky if you got it. If you don't get the glitch, you can only have one tagger emblem depending on how many tags you got)

    http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9979/lvl1glitchkq7.jpg

    (He deserves it... )

    http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/4133/capturedmy5.jpg
(When did he sign up? Tomorrow?)

    http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/2998/lvl1postslv8.jpg
(He must have had a blast on his first day! )

    http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/205/lvlzeroglitchma4.jpg
(He hasn't even hit lvl one yet!)

    http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/7017/missingemblemskl5.jpg
(I believe I was the only one this happened to...twice!)

    http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/948/negativevf3.jpg
(I guess he owed someone a comment for their blog )

    http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/5557/pdzkp8.jpg

(This wasn't a Gamespot Glitch but it seems kinda weird. At the moment, the Perfect Dark Zero Game Picture was removed by either Microsoft Studios or Rare Ltd. leaving it to be a ?)

Thats all I have for now. Check again later for more. I'll be sure to keep this blog updated somewhere.

I've been gone a long time working on Graphic Designs and creating story boards for games I plan on designing in the future. If i had an advance PC and a few different Graphics Engines, I'd show you the ideas I've thought up. A few two minute trialers of the games I though up. When it comes to games, Gameplay isn't the only thing that is supposed to be good, to me, its all about the Setting, Characters, and Storyline.

Well, I guess I'm back for a while now. I wanted to revisit Gamespot since Novemer is a busy month for gamers. My favorite reasons are the Playstation 3 and Gears of War. When I saw the commerical for GOW, I just had to buy it. I thought I'd buy the Collectors Tin on Wedsnesday when it releases.

Thats all for now. Thanks for reading in after weeks of non bloging.

I've been busy will school lately (Having lots of fun too). I miss being at Gamespot.com and what not with all the news stuff happening all of a sudden. TGS, Back to Back Contests, X06, and After Hours. I read the PMs I recieve but sadly I don't reply to most of em (Since most of them are about making Graphic Designs, sorry guys). I would recommend asking Mirage Designs, they've been working on some awsome stuff lately.

I basicly use my spare time playing Xbox 360 rather than at Gamespot. I've been playing Dead Rising and that game's Ending is HOT! So far, I believe that game has the best Ending (Ending A, the true ending). I strongly recommend any Xbox 360 owner over the age of 18 buys it. The reason why I say over 18 is because the game has some very violent moments. Excluding the zombie chopping action, most bosses die pretty unfortunate ways.

Virtually There: Tokyo Game Show 2006

For tuning in during GameSpot's three days of live coverage of the 2006 Tokyo Game Show, which took place on September 22-24. Arigatou gozaimas hita!"

I got the TGS Emblem today. I saw about ten minutes of the Live Feed and got this a few minutes after. If you ask me, it looks pretty nifty. It even goes nice with my User Name.

I also hit 1k posts today. This blog being my 1k post. I don't do much posting at Gamespot so its pretty facinating that I hit 1k post since I started.

I got my Xbox 360 repaired by Microsoft back today. I have a feeling this time I won't be calling them again. This Xbox 360 seems to be Ring of Death proof. I just have that feeling. Mircosoft even soft modded and tested the Xbox 360 for me so its Ring of Death proof. Now I'm back on live and gaming again. Its been two months since I picked up the Xbox 360 controller.

If my Xbox 360 ever gives me the Ring of Death one more time, its not coming back, ever. I'm going to tell Microsoft Customer Repair Service to give me a $400 check and keep my Xbox 360. I'm not going through a fifth repair.

But until that time comes, I'll just enjoy playing me new soft modded Version 2 Xbox 360.

Which Next Gen Console do you favor most?

    The Sony Playstation 3...

    The Microsoft Xbox 360....

    Or...

    The Nintendo Wii...

This has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen. I'm practicly speechless. This guy made his own Xbox 360 Laptop with Xbox 360 parts. Its a mod but he took apart his Xbox 360 console and made it into an Xbox 360 Laptop. The case and everything else is custom made though (The Housing, Flip feature, etc). Its built with Wi-Fi connection, a Keyboard, Intercooler, wireless interface (for your media remote or controller), Hard Drive, DVD Drive, and an LCD Screen. This will NOT be retailed in stores so don't ask where can you buy it. Its a mod, ANYONE can do it. Take a look:

I've had quite an interesting summer (Not the best since my Xbox 360 has been crashing for more than half the summer). But now the fun and relaxation time is over. Why start school on Thursday? I do not know. Its time to get ready for another ten months in High School. The only problem I have with HS is the first week (next week); Summer Work is due. Every year in High School when you move on to the next grade they assign you Summer Homework (Even as a Senior going to college). Its 15% of your first cycle grade and I can't stand vaction work. I need that good start but I don't like homework, even if I get two longs months of summer to do it. When school starts they are going to want that Summer work and I'm not done. I'm not even half way finished.

I'm going to be on Gamespot from time to time but not a lot. With the Soccer, School Work, and Detention's for being late for class.

btw, I traded my Nintendo DS Lite at TGN. I really didn't need one. Its not neccesary for me at the moment. I exchanged it for Dead Rising (360) and a pre-ordered copy of Phantasy Star Universe (360). These games have more to do with my future than Math and Science work.

What do you think of the new and extra features of the blogging system? The category and Tagging feature is a little old but it seems we got more today. Under the blog is a small tool bar with the choice to Print, E-mail, Comment, Tag, and digg-this (not sure about this one).

I think this new feature makes the user page pretty nifty. It looks really cool. What do you think of it?

I just got my Xbox 360 back from Microsoft today this afternoon. I couldn't wait to start playing again. I even cut Soccer practice just to start playing with it. The Xbox 360 supposively new and replaced, can't read Games or DVDs. Thats right, its still broken and I CAN'T PLAY. I'm never going to buy another Xbox Console ever again.

I called Micrsoft and explained the situation and spoke to the Supervisor. They then said they will have to repair it (again, numero 4th time) and will need to send me a box doing the same three weeks process once more. I'm tired of this garbage. As soon as the Wii and Playstation 3 comes out, I'm selling my Xbox 360 console, forever.

Update: I called Microsoft back to do more talking. I got a really helpful agent to help me out. He was really cool and kind (I had to leave him some good feedback). He was able to replace my crappy A/V cables with HD VGA Cables and a free copy of PGR3). They also said this fourth console will be built to satisfy my gaming needs (I hope its modded). If not, they are going to go through a lot to keep my satisfaction for a fifth repair (which I have a feeling is going to happen). My first reaction was a bit harsh. This update is proof I toned it down. The people at Microsoft better thank the Support Center at Texas because if they weren't so nice, I'd run the Xbox Launch team to the ground.

I haven't been really active lately, responding to your blogs, helping out with Union Chartering, creating grahpic images, and other things. I've been really busy lately with school and all. It starts in two weeks and I need to finish summer homework for my next year of High School.

On top of all of that, the pre-soccer season has started. I have practice everyday now since the first game is the second day of school. Most of you have asked me to create sigs bars Unions banners but I don't have the time anymore. And for some reason I'm getting so many requests before school starts.

Your rarely going to see me online now. Our new coach is really trainning us for the upcoming season and most of the time I want to just sleep but I need to read some books and do some papers. I'm sorry I can't help you guys with your things and haven't been commenting on your newest blogs (Most new blogs get made every hour, I'm hardly going to catch yours).

Hopefully, when I'm online, the least I can do is leave a comment for your blog or stop at the messege boards.

I finally got my hands on a Nintendo DS Lite a few days ago (before my disapearing act on a short Vaction). While cleaning and organizing my room, I found a lot of games and accersories I could trade it. I traded in Final Fantasy XI sealed, Perfect Dark Zero Regular Edition (The free one microsoft gave me), Two PS2 Controller, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Top Spin/NCAA Football 2005 bundle. I may have missed a few more but those helped a lot (especially the Xbox 360 games). I ended up paying about $30 for my Lite! Now thats a steal. Its sad that I didn't have enough to buy a Nintendo DS Lite game that I wanted (New Super Mario Bros).

The Nintendo DS Lite is really awsome! I'm thinking of getting the New Super Mario Bros. but my pocket is low on cash. I'm also thinking of buying other games as well such as Dead Rising, Saint's Row, and pre-order Phantasy Star Universe (I really want this). What do you think I should do?

I'd have to say my favorite all time game would be Half Life 2 (sorry, Final Fantasy. But your everywhere and so many people make you over-rated). Its the best thing to happen to me. Its like an MMO, it goes on with more levels, mods, its unbelievable. The graphics, the enviornment, the people, its all so real and cool.

What about you? Whats your all time favorite game?

We finally got word about the Lost Planet's Multiplayer feature! Screenshots were released today along with the Hands On story. This game is going to be the most coolest anticipated Multiplayer Game to come to the Xbox 360. I don't find Gears of War and Halo 3 to be all that awsome. We haven't even seen Gameplay like Lost Planet. Those games are all hyped. Lost Planet is an amazingly great game both Multiplayer and Single Player wise. Besure to check out the Single Player demo if you never played it before. Trust me, its worth it.

The multiplayer demo will feature the map based on the ice pirate area in the single-player Marketplace demo .The four Multiplayer game types are elimination, team elimination, capture the pole, and foxhunt. There are 1 v 1 matches and 4 v 4 matches. It may be possible when the game is released, the Multiplayer feature will allow 8 v 8 but for now, a demo is a demo and we only get a taste of what its really like.

I cannot wait! I already got mine pre-ordered at Gamestop and ready for the buying.

I just sent my third Xbox 360 out for repairs today. The same day I got the box, I shipped it out. And wouldn't you know, the repair shipping box contained a sealed copy of Perfect Dark Zero. It was a Microsoft gift (since this was my third repair). Although I own the Collector's Edition of Perfect Dark Zero, its a wonderful idea to send out a gift repair item.

I also got something else as well. Two week before when my Xbox 360 started giving me the red lights, I called Microsoft and we went through the troubleshooting steps and came to a conclusion that my Hard Drive was corrupted. After a long phone discussion, they said they will send me a new Hard Drive as soon as possible. After a while, I popped back in the Hard Drive and started playing. I was amazed to find out its still working. I didn't want to alert microsoft because what if it still is the HDD? But after hours of playing in a matter of days, it began acting up again.

I found out even without the Hard Drive, it was giving me the three red lights. So I called Micrsoft and ordered for a replacement System. Two days after, the HDD had arrived! It seems to have been used by a Premium Xbox 360 owner (You can tell because the Premium HDD has a Darker Gray surface and a fresh bought HDD has a Lighter Gray surface). I was able to view information on it but was not able to be on the Dashboard for long. Why would microsoft give me a previously own HDD with another Gamertag and they're data. But, it was free and working like a charm. A $100 Xbox 360 HDD containning 20 Gigs of Memory...for free.

Over time I currently created new Userbars, Sigs, and Banners. For those who haven't read my older blogs, I'm working on becoming a Game Designer and going to major in Computer Science. I'll soon be able to work with 3D graphic engineering technology in order to create the games you see today on your Xbox 360 and future games on the Playstation 3 and Wii consoles. But for now, I'm working on Graphic Designing as a little hobby. Its a start. Have a look see.

I made a personal sig for myself. Pretty neat, huh? Its got "Game Designer" written all over it. I chose the Dell "Show Stopper" Laptop because its got the most style in Dell PCs and is great for Graphic Designing and Home Entertainment. This sig even has my Username in it, just in case...Hehe.

I made this userbar because I got annoyed from getting Union invites for unions I'm not even familiar with (The Star Wars Union? Do I have anything on my page that says I'm interested in Star Wars? And Star Wars games in my collection? And Reviews? I don't think so). Don't mind the Bullets and the blood, its just what I do to the invites that come in, lol). Well, I designed this Sig to remind those not to send me any random invites. You may say, "This doesn't help" or "This fuels them to do so", but it sure help me. I haven't got a Union invite from anyone that is not from my Tracking List ever since.

I modified my old banner. It didn't look that good when it was so plain. It just had the Red Wave Backround and my User Name. So I re-designed it with Sony Playstation 3 Pictures and the Logo. Its not all that wonderful in my opinion. This is one of those, "Thats not what I'm feeling" things.

This is a new banner I created for my User Profile. I'm so into the beach and oceans but what makes them better are the sunsets. Theres also a mountain in the backround (rather huge). This is the perfect banner for me.

Thats everything I've made for now. I'm currently working on more (which you'll see soon enough). Thanks for checking out my new Graphic Designs and I hope you enjoyed them.

I just saw on the news that Dell Laptops are exploding world wide (not simutainiously). Dell Inc. is one of the largest computer manufacturing companies in the World. Many business workers use Dell Laptops for office work at home, the office, and on the go. You can be on a bus with one, in a car, in a train, even on a Plane with one. Its highly rare that a Laptop will explode when you are near it (out of all people). The first Dell Laptop to explode was at a Computer Conference in Japan (most likely). While no one was attending the Computer while it was just sitting there, waiting to be used, It just bursted into flames.

A month after that one, in an office located inside a Business Building, a Computer left on standby exploded. This proves that when the Computer is not active, its still dangerous (but when its still on). Luckily, the user was not near or attending the laptop, but office employees had to put it out with a fire extenguisher.

Dell has annouced a recall for these defective batteries. Dell has created a site called https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com. Luckily, no deaths have been confirmed (also luckily for Dell) but deaths were possible in these mini explosions. Dell is loosing millions of dollars, replacing certain batteries and destroyed laptops. Dell annouces that they need owners of the following laptops to order for a free new battery (the not exploding ones) at the Dell Battery Support Website. So if you have a Dell Laptop of either model, I strongly suggest you call for a battery replacement. You never know if your Laptop can be next.

I don't know about any of you but I cannot wait to get my hands on a Sony Playstation 3. I've waited so long after delays and more delays. I've even had to purchase an Xbox 360 that breaks now and then just to enjoy what a next gen system feels like. But I still haven't yet. Playstation 3 is going to be the Start of the Next Gen of Gaming. The Xbox 360 was nothing much, just a little Prologue in a book. Playstation 3 is the Chapter One. I've never seen such cool looking games. The launch titles look appealing as well. Compared to the Xbox 360 Launch Titles, the Playstataion 3 Launch Line up is anticipated to be a good one rather than having only one good game and having to wait until next year for the ones you want. And another thing, its Regional Free! Meaning, you can play Japanese PS3 games without the trouble of purchasing Japanese (Region 2) PS3.

Sony Playstation 3 offers two different Configurations for buyers. A $500 one and a $600 one. Both offer the highest quality of movie and gaming entertainment (High Definition). Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...Blu Ray! Blu Ray is like a High Definition DVD but BD (Blu Ray Disc). Inside the BD, there are four layers of memory. Each layer holds 25 Gigs while each DVD layers hold 15 gigs. Normally, DVDs have two layers but Blu Ray Disc have four layers. Thats about 100 Gigs of memory. Thats Five to Ten DVDs.

The brain of the Sony Playstation 3 contains the world's most powerful microprocessor, the Cell. The Cell allows game developers to create games in order to look the way they do at E3' 06. Providing High Definition Moive Viewing (Cutscenes) and High Definition Gaming (inplay gaming). So expect Final Fantasy XIII to actually have those wonderful gameplay battles and Eight Days to allow you to move freely about during cut scences.

PS3 also has Bluetooth technology. Now where have you heard that from? Thats whats used for most wireless technologies today, such as the headset that comes with your Motorola Razr V-Cast phone. That wireless little ear piece allows you to move you head and body freely about without tangling with any cords. The Playstation 3 uses BlueTooth as its wireless capablity in controller usage. And guess what else? You don't have to buy a seprate play and charge kit because the 2.0 USB port allow you to hook up your USB cord from the Contoller to the PS3 in order to recharge your remote controller, while you play.

Okay, "Now why do both packages vary if they both have what I want?!" Thats where I draw the line. The $500 package comes with the Playstation 3 (with all the above) and a 20 gig Hard Drive. This is recommend for those who have a Standard TV and just like gaming. The $600 package comes with the Playstation 3 (with all the above), capable HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), Memory Stick and Compact Flash Readers, Wi-Fi connection, and a 60 gig hard drive. This is recommended for those who have a High Definition TV, Surround Sound with Subwoofers, and Love Gaming. Which package should you get? Thats up to you.

I don't think Sony has "taken" or "stolen" any ideas from the other Next Gen Consoles. I don't know why Xbox Fanboys complain that Playstation 3 is "stealing" Xbox Live's online Capabilites. Of course a next gen system needs online play. Its not like Microsoft bought the right to have its company be the only one to have its games be online playable and have an online enviornment in which you can maintain a friends list and download content.

As for the Motion Sensitive idea. Sony decided to "Play Beyond" like they said. They expanded the idea in order to use motion sensitivity in order to enhance fun and enjoyable gameplay. The PS3 motion sensitity is more like a tilt and move kind of Controller. While the Wii mote focuses on pointing at the TV or Swinging a Sword, Bat, Golf Club, or Tennis Raqute.

For the rest of you Sony Fanboys, I hope your excited as well for this Next Gen experience. Besure to pass by the guys who are doing SmashMyPS3.com and kick there nuts for the ment to be destroyed copies of the Sony Playstation 3. Cause you want to know why? Someone is going to miss out on all the fun because a bunch of losers want kicks by wreaking entertainment.
