The Emperor's Journal
Contained within is the wisdom of the Dragon Emperor JeffSteel. To disagree with the Emperor is to be wrong. Be careful, because you may just learn something you didn't want to know.

Well, it seems Cut and Paste Scripts is having some technical difficulties, meaning my sig might have a weird random "Random Image" text at the bottom instead of an image for awhile. Hopefully this is only temporary, and not permanent, because I like the variety of having the image randomly change with each viewing. Indeed, if I must find another site I'll be seriously ticked off, must everything go wrong nowadays!!! Also, still need to change the banner or something, its ancient, even if it is awesome. Maybe add more links or something.
Edit: Wow, the issue is already resolved, so much for my worrying........... on a totaly unrelated note, the new GS look is starting to grow on me.

12Jul 08I felt that as times change, one must change with them. Ergo, I have decided to update the images used in the random image script I have been using, to reflect my now more honed image editing skillz. So, dont frfeak out when you see that JeffSteel has actually changed something of his.

26Nov 07Okay, long time acquaintances of mine know I haven't changed much around here in years (despite a few announcements on my part to the contrary), but that will change as of now. I want to put some links on my intro to educationally or philosophically interesting sites, instead of that admittedly awesome banner. Hopefully, it will help viewers achieve some degree of enlightenment and spare me the effort of explaining my particular outlooks on life. The links areguaranteed to provide aquality of education impossible in today's government schools.

Specifically, I am 23 years old as of today. There shall be much rejoicing and splashing in the pool sized treasure bath, filled with the spoiles plundered from the many conquestsor whatever. All are invited, for I am kind.

Last Thursday evening my neighborhood was assaulted by one of the most violent and freakish lightning storms I have ever witnessed. In the span of ten minutes it went from total calm and darkness outside to a strobe light night from all the lightening, eccentuated by the constant, uninterrupted roaring of thunder. 30 minutes or so after it began, the weather was calm again.
Unfortunantly, as I was moving to turn off my computer as the storm set in, a humongus bolt of lightening struck somewhere near my back yard, which filled my window with a brillient flash of white light and a few seconds of sparkling orange and red light from the explosion. In that instant my computer was frie, useless, with everything on it lost as far as I can tell. My brother's computer was also destroyed in the same instant. This was despite both of them being plugged into surge protectors.
The lesson? Turn off your computers whenever you think lightening will be in your area AND unplug it from the outlet/surge protector, because your so-called "surge-protector" will only protect a certain number of appliances, starting with the least power intensive. Since your CPU is likely to be the most power intensive appliance you would plug into the "protector" it will often be screwed. I did buy a new computer tower for around 660 dollars though, but its money I would still have if not for this "electrical assasination' (as the computers were the only things in the house affected, and no trace of the blast was found out back).

Well, summer is over, meaning my dail-up imposed isolation from forums is over for another year!! I'll be trying to catch back up on the places I havent been able to regularly frequent for the next few days, so watch out! Or you just might find yourself smothered by a snic assault of cheesy goodness. At least the interface for entering messages seems to have improved some since my last forays on gamespot.

Just this morning of October 5th, 2006, I found attached to the window of my car a notice. It as informing me of an ordinance passed by a board of power hungry demagouges for whom in my recollection I never voted, stating that it is now a misdomeaner offense against Clayton County to park my car on the grass of my front lawn, in MY yard. Either the rights and votes of the various grass species matter more than the rights of human beings, or this is a transparently justified (grass conservation or some other enviornmentalist wacko nonsense) attempt by the county I live in to expand its control over the behavior of the citizens under its "protection." Needless to say, I will not just sit down like a dog and takes this BS from a bunch of corrupt politocrates.
My point is this, dont trust politicians of any level. Sure they may have been elected by votes from 10% or less of the population, but its easy to mask one's agenda when political campaigns revolve around "hot topics" instead of ones overall agenda, as was done in Tomas Jefferson's day when this was a free country. Just realize that every politocrates goal is to expand their power and prestige at your expense, wheather they realize it or not.

It is hereby proclaimed that all citizens of his majesty's empire commence the annual day long festival, celebrating the Earth's fortune in being the home of the Emperor for 22 years in a row.
........
Failure to comply shall result in immediate execution and/or the revocation of one's invitation to the imperial palace for the biggest b-day bash ever in the history of the Universe.

Well, I think its time to jazz his majesties profile page up a bit. Firstly, I am considering replacing that admittedly awsome flag thats been hanging around with something more useful, like link buttons. I am still considering where to link to though, so here's a few sites, whose web addresses will be conveninetly typed out so that my faithful subjects can get an idea as to what they are:
http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=DWUnion - The home page of the DWU, which I controll with the iron fist of a benevolent despot.
http://www.friesian.com/ - An excellent source of information that explodes all of ideas of the trendy leftists and communists, featuring rather easy to read articles covering very complicated concepts in a way that makes them much easier to understand.
I will add more later, as I feel like it or think of something else. Anyhow, I'll also be thinking of something to replace the banner with. Something more spectacular whilst being under the size limit.

4Sep 06Lu_Bu01 has been banned. While my natural curiosity would like to know why, it really dosent matter. We may not have seen eye to eye on every issue, but it takes some true grit to disagree with the Emperor to his face. And so another one of my original companions on GameSpot is gone. Farewell.

Well, I'm about to start a new semester of college, meaning several things. Most importantly to you, the reader, is that I'll finnally be free of the contraints of Dail-up whilst using the college network connection. This means that I'll be able to do so much more on the web than I ever could whilst chilling in my lavish pleasure palice where I lack nothing but a good web connection. In short, the Emperor has returned!
note: For those of you who enjoyed my last post about famouse people, the formatting has been changed slightly. Instead of once a month, a new edition will be released whenever I feel its nessecary.

There are many people in history who have had a huge influence on those who followed, and yet are not often talked about for various reasons. Thus, I have decided that once a month I will highlight an important individual whom should be better known to everyone. I wont post a huge multipage lesson on the person, but I will post a pic, a brief overview, and some links for those who wish to learn more. I will not attempt to tie who is chosen based on past events that occured during the month, because I dont want to be restricted in such a manner. Therefore, the person for the month of June, for no other reason than personnal preference is... Constantine the Great!

The head from the shattered Constantine Colossus in the Musei Capitolini in Rome, Italy
Lifespan: 285 - 337 AD Occupation: Roman Emperor
Why Care?: Made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire, and moved the capitol of the Roman Empire to Constantinople.
The only ruler to really merit the title of "the Great," he was the first Christian Emperor, and the second-to-last emperor to rule the whole of the Empire. By making Christianity the Empire's religion, he laid the foundations upon which the Catholic and Orthodox churches would form, and ensured that Europe would be wholly Christianised in time. By moving the capitol to Constantinople, he laid the foundations upon which the eastern half of the Roman Empire would survive for another 1,000 years, to later be know today as the Byzantine Empire.

..... or just use google, as always.

Hey, it's not like books are the only things I'll recommend. Anything is fair game! With that in mind, I'll start with one of my favorite movies that you probably never even heard of. Its called...
The basic plot is this: a couple of escaped convicts meet a group of yakuza out in the middle of the woods. These woods happen to be the "Forest of Ressurection" in which people that die tend to come back to life as zombies. Sooooo......... what follows is an orgy of awsome, stylish martial arts, gunplay, and sword action between the living and the dead. However, it turns out that there is a mysterious individual that has manipulated events to this point, who has skills and powers beyond any normal human being. Who will survive? You'll have to watch to find out.
I'd recommend this movie to anyone, especially fans of "Evil Dead," "The Matrix," or basically any sort of action/horror movie. The fights are frankly the some of the best I've ever seen. I know I was watching "Kill Bill" yesterday, and all I could think of whilst veiwing the climatic batle at that resturant with all the gansters and stuff was "Man, I could be watching Versus now, cause this is kinda lame in comparison."
Whats even better is this movie was made for relatively dirt cheap (like $400,000 U.S. dollars), but you dont really care, because its so well executed. Its got style, action, comedy, everything youd want in a movie. Basically what I'm saying is you need to watch this, NOW!!!- Posted May 30, 2006 4:45 am GMT

Here is something short you can read in a few minutes. Short, but brilliant. It is an article written by Shelby Steele, and it explains just why we dont go over to Iraq and beat the living bejessus out of the terrorist scum, despite our ability to do so. Its implications are applicable to most every aspect of western politics today, though.

7Apr 06For quite some time now I have been hesitant to actually write game reveiws, as I am in no way quaified to do so, save for my long history of playing games. However, as Dragon Emperor, and Master of the Universe, it is my duty to protect my subjuects from total crap, be they games, political propaganda, or wrongheaded economic theory (i.e. communism and socialism). Therfore, I am considering actually reviewing games. It is the also the duty of a ruler to fulfill the hopes of the people, however, so how do my people feel about such a move, I wonder?

I have finished yet another infinantly fascinating work of fact (I wouldn't recommend it otherwise). It is:
A Short History of Byzantium, by John Julius Norwich.
It chronicals the 1,123 year and 18 day history of the greatest, longest lived Christian Empire that ever existed. It is quite easy for those with no historical background to read and is quite entertaining to boot. Christians especially OWE it to themselves to become familiar with the subject matter, as Christianity would never have survived the Middle Ages without the Byzantine (aka later eastern Roman) Empire. It in and of itself is just a compilation of three volumes he had written earlier, so if you liked it as much as I did and thirst for more, well more there is!

There comes a time when one has more stuff than they need or care to maintain. While socialist governments may keep everything operating regardless of usefullness, if only to have an excuse to hike up taxes, most rational people will recognise the need to cut back on such things. To this end, I'm gonna resign from some unions I dont really have any part in anyway, including perhapes disbanding the Godzilla Union (which I admit to be dead). Dont take it personally if I resign from your union, its just that I dont need to be a member of 10 unions and participate in about 2 of them.

I happened across yet another article which fits quite nicely with my last recommended book. It is further evidence of what the enlightened already know to be true, that Democracy (America's in particular for this essay, though by no means limited to the U.S.) is becoming a bloated, power hungry, communist led enemy of civilization.
http://www.friesian.com/corrupt.htm
It comes from an acedemic site featuring a wide range of articles and essays on a wide range of subjects, and so I will also give you the link to it as well.

I have been fortunant enough to come across yet another intellectually enlightening work of social and political persuasion. It goes by the name of Democracy: The God That Failed, written by Hans-Hermann Hoppe.
This is a must read for anyone interested in political, social, and/or economical discussion. It details the worlds transition from Monarchy to Democracy, and while identifying Monarchy as a lesser evil, finds deficiencies in both. He then proposes an interesting theory of anarcho-capitalism, a world without government, ruled soley by a natural order of private property.
One could only describe it as the 21st century's Communist Manifesto. Those whom wish to shape the face of things to come owe it to themselves to read this roadmap to the future.
