Games companies and there ultimate downfall

Ok This is my first blog so bear with me and here goes.

Why is it that games companies seemto feel the need to appease the god of PC (political corectness). For example, Im reading the europa universalis manual and I begin to nictice a pattern developing. It was really niggling at me and then it hit me. All through the manual they had repeatedly apologised countless times for things like putting slavery and religion in the game. Now I was quite angry about this and I'll tell you why. Why should a games company have to apologise for something that wasnt there fault nor something they had any control over?. It happened its over get on with it. Quite frankly you may think me a racist. You may think me unkind. I dont give a toss.

The fact that its a game should tell you something, but if your conscience bothers you that much, that you have to apologise for something that wasnt your fault then it shouldnt be in there. Or you shoulnt but it in the first place I mean what's next big stickers on the front of the game saying "CAUTION GAME CONTAINS SLAVERY, IF AFRICAN OR EASILY OFFENDED DO NOT PLAY" where do we draw the line between real life and gaming.

What bugs me the most is people scream they want more realism and then cry when they get upset because of slavery and such. If you want realism there you go! dont moan when you get what you asked for because it makes you look stupid. Gamers need to take a stand. personally myself im all up for a bit of slavery.

The other part is religion. "We dont want to offend or upset anybody" I mean come on, who the hell is gonna be offended if you make christianity different from judaism. the fact is they are two different religions. They have two seperate faith bases. why shouldnt they have different bonuses. thats not to say one is better than the other its just showing that religion is different. but somehow they feel the need to cover there own arses incase the rcist/PC brigade boot the front door in. I should point out at this point im not religious. But I'm sure if you ask a mulsim he think his religion is the right one, if you ask a christian they think theres is right, the point is its different. not the same.

When are we gonna get past this fear of upsetting people in games? If we dont take a stand now , we never will and that to me is a real shame.
