Today is Community Manager Appreciation Day (CMAD). I wanted to thank all of you for making GameSpot such an awesome community. If you have any random questions you'd like to ask Synthia or myself, ask away! We'd like to answer some of them in a video this week.
Happy CMAD ^^
Mmm let's see:
1.Describe Synthia as a co-worker and a freind.
2.do you still have (and use ) that turtle beach headset you bought 2 years ago? XD
3.your top 3 favorite games ever!
4.are you still enjoying what you do at Gamespot as a Community Manager the way you used to 2 years ago?
@matastig Synthia tends to think about the GameSpot members first, so she's an excellent community manager and a good friend, even if she loves ponies.
I still use the headset for voice communication, but it's mainly used on my computer.
Quake, Unreal Tournament 2k4, and Mass Effect 2
Happy belated CMAD Jody! You rock! Here are two questions for you.
1.) What is your favorite sport to watch?
2.) What is your favorite sport to play?
@Garrison_Ford Hockey was always the most fun to watch in person. As for the sports I play, I dont play them these days but I liked softball and volleyball when I was a kiddo! ;)
Hey there! happy CMAD!.... I have a question. Whats needed to become part of GS staff? ( I mean, apart from being active and all that) :P. Do I have to bribe somebdoy? lol.. j/k
@angelbless If you love gaming, and I mean truly love gaming. Never give that feeling up. Continue to be passionate. Not for a monetary gain but just because you feel in the heart of your cards that you're 20% cooler than the average gamer. Keep writing, keep playing, adapt and evolve with the culture. Then, get a twitter account :P
is it possible to speed up the leveling somehow? even though I follow the tipps I still level up very slowly...
@Shinobi-Neo Leveling has become much easier than it used to. Did you read Lark's article about what gets considered?
@Shinobi-Neo Check it out here: Changes to the GameSpot User Leveling System http://www.gamespot.com/features/changes-to-the-gamespot-user-leveling-system-6389154/
Happy CMAD! My question might be pretty obvious, but did you ever fail a subject in school because a new video game was released around the exam period?
@DraugenCP No, I never failed a class over it, I did fail a few assignments because of my job though! When I was doing tournaments and working late here at work (sometimes until 10pm) I often found myself too tired to finish assignments so my instructors didn't allow for any excuses of turning that stuff in late.
@DraugenCP I failed a semester of in my sophomore year because for one of my finals I focused on the literary and artistic impact video games had on my generation... Teacher failed the project because I had just used it as an excuse to play games. My mother was LIVID, made him give me a passing grade and I switched teachers. It was epic :)
What was your favorite game before you actually considered yourself a gamer, and what console generation did you begin to be a gamer? Mine personally was probably Duck Hunt on the NES or SNES. I became more serious about gaming during the N64 gen starting with Zelda OoT.
@Demonkillua Gaming has always been a part of lifestyle. But, I started realizing the term "gamer" when I got into Command & Conquer and S.C.A.R.AB.. I guess around that time is when I started calling myself a gamer. I played tons of DuckHunt as a kid!
@Demonkillua I remember playing a lot of Super Mario Bros, so I'd have to say that. I still hum that awesome little intro song when the mood strikes me :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9Ee4TevHfA
And that is totally going to be a video now... thanks perkins :)
Did you all see this video? :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LulBtjPwAu0
Happy CMAD and really thank you to you and Synthia for all the work you do with the community.
Happy CMAD. Do you plan on picking up a WiiU? Do you have an all time favorite Nintendo game/series.
@Travo_basic I played it during E3 a few years back but in all honesty, I haven't found a game that would require me to play with the WiiU just yet.
@-INKling- Can I have legs like an octopus instead? Actually... I suppose it doesn't really matter... OCTOPUS!
Jody
Lately it's been Guild Wars 2, identifying what to write down and publish a blog, but I'm trying to get higher level and to dabble in some other areas in the game like PVP.
Teal

Thanks for being such great Community Managers, Jody and Synthia!
Here's a question: If you could have any animal as a pet, real or fantastical, what would it be?
Here's another (my standard question I always ask): If you could have a drink (doesn't have to be alcoholic) or a sandwich named after you, which would you pick, and what would be in it?
@starduke I posted a flower dog screenshot from Guild Wars 2 recently. That would be neat to at least dress up a dog to look like a Flower dog and parade him all over Comic-Con! instagr.am/p/Uwm7XKEUVj/
What animal would I have as a pet? Octopus - Real / Kraken - Fictional
It would be a drink, one part light rum, on part coconut rum, dash pina colada mix, float mountain dew.
@starduke I would choose drink because people remember drinks more than the names of sandwiches
Oh I came up with some questions. I know you like to cook, so my question is - Would you like to host you own Cooking show and if so what would you call it?
If you could go anywhere in the world where you like to go?
If money was no option what camera would you like to own?
Is there any landmark, animal or creature you would like to take a photographic of?
So you still ride your scooter?
Have you every skydived or gone suba diving or would you like to?
CaliGirl's Culinary Craze! I'd love to show off how stupid easy it is to do it to get even a newb to cook!
I've always wanted to go to Ireland, Scotland, and South Africa (have a variety of Quake gamers that live out there). Lately I've wanted to visit Rome because of the architecture.
If money was no option what camera would you like to own? I like cameras that are light, because I enjoy hiking or attending gaming events. I'd try to find the lightest DSLR camera out there with HD, HDR and timelapse capability build in!..
I really like architecture of all kinds, so I'd love to visit places like Rome and others on a beautiful day to take some photos.
With the weather lately, I've been carpooling and taking the bus. Once the rainy and cold weather starts to warm up, I'll be riding it again.
Both would be fun to do, have you?
Humm camera option... Umm one that works well with noobs :)
I want to take a bunch of pictures of "Cute Dumbos" they're a kind of deep sea octopus
I would totally go skydiving
I actually used to have a cooking show back in the day oh how young I was. XD
Hey everyone, I'll be responding to all of you here shortly, and @Synthia will be responding to you tomorrow!
@jcopp72 I've been working here since April 2011, I have a little "about me" video that got uploaded to Facebook back in the day.
@jcopp72 I've been working here since 2005 and got into gaming as a child (older brother and father were huge gamers). Did you get a chance to see my 5th anniversary video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt6qo2ubC0U
