  Clever Marketing

  For the record this is my first blog on gamespot. Well the reason I am posting today is that I would like to know something, why is there a console war? Who decided that the 3 main consoles should be in a competition? Well as I was wandering through the forums trying to find an answer from someone I found one for myself. If people can get into a competition over something, they will stick to it and defend it. Best way to defend a console is to buy games for it, right? Or persuade people to not buy that other system because the one you love so dearly is much more valuable. When it comes down to the mechanics of money, competition is the best. Consumers become the perfect advertising tools spending time and money boosting up their collection and gaining more people to follow them in a crusade to vanquish the other consoles. I own a Wii and an Xbox 360. I think both are fun to play. Does it matter if the Wii is not that powerful? Or that the Xbox has some odd little features? No, sorry if you feel different. Besides gamers have a **** reputation already, why not just make it worse by getting into fights on the internet?
