I've been pondering working on a Hype thread for LBP to release late augest, but I'm not sure if I should...do people think it's needed, and will people accept my design concept.

I've whiped up something quick as a prototype, but it could radically change over time if I receive some positive input about making a hype thread...what do you guys think about this prototype, I'm considering stylizing the main logo and image boxes a bit more to fit the style of the game some more...well to fit my design more or less...just give me some feedback or something I need feedback if I am to continue.

    logo

Just a simple amalgamation of a simple zombie, easy to customize to themes and needs, mind you this is only the base image and my logo so it needs to be simple the complex designs will stay with my main work...but I need to put a face to the Viral Vacation name.

After finishing the game the first time all I can say is...wow...just incredible. I have concluded MGS is the best game series of all time, it trancends any gaming experience I have ever had in my entire life!

Resident Evil comes in a distant second, even more distant sence the bastard child we all know as a great game but not a great Resident Evil game RE4 poked its head out.

Back to my point! Seriously you can not call yourself a real gamer if you do not play MGS 1-4 (and the other Metal gear games besides Acid or portable ops)* I know this sounds kind of stupid * But I don't care what system it's on, you should just not miss any of these game they are a masterpiece and Hideo Kojima deserves every ounce of respect that everyone gives him and none of the flack some poor people are trying to poor on top of him for no reason.

But before I start to insult people who don't like "Stealth action" games, I'll shut up and leave it to your preferences to pass up the best series of video games in history.

    Summary: MGS4....Wow.

Some people may dispute what the best book ever was, but I have the two best books ever. There is no comparison to the amounts of win that these books contain, and if you have not/wont read these books your life is in grave danger!

    Zombie Survival Guide

This book started it, bringing the Zombie menace to a real world, I have never seen such a literal recreation of zombies and it makes it all the more interesting to read. I touches on "if" Zombies existed what they would be like, the physiology, and other works of the zombies mind if you can call it so.

The book touches on basic survival techniques usefull even in the real world and is a frightning look into a post apocaliptic nightmare that is Zombie infestation, a 100% lethal virus killing all but the poor humans infected by it turning them into nothing but machines designed to do one thing...feed.

This book also touches on fictional accounts of zombies in the real world throughout history, from cavemen to egyptians, to modern suburban schoolyards, this book captures my worst fears perfectly for my worst fear are Zombies...

    World War Z!

Another book from the same author, this book touches less on the actual Zombie and more on a nightmare scenario where a Zombie outbreak becomes worldwide and humanity is pushed to the brink of extinction. The book paints a frighteningly real picture of what the world would be like if such an event occured...

"Who would ever notice...at the door is a Chinaman with a gun, you sure as hell are not looking for a zombie lurking behind him!"

The world is painted as a bleak start, and continues through the stages of the war.

First is the start, the first story of the first known infected child who appears to have started the outbreak only known as "Patient Z"

Then the book breaks into other parts

The Denial, where the problem is pushed aside by larger problems and is not recognized or blacked out from the media and government, as the problem escelates out of control no one really knows what is happending besides many reports of "African Rabies causing people to go mad and attack anyone in sight" begin to spread...and it's already too late.

The Great Panic where humanity is in total anarchy when discovering such a menance not only exists...but is right outside there door.

One story inparticular seemed to chime with me for some reason, I share no comon traits with the character, nor his origin, or life**** but it just seemed so real...it scared me I wont go into detail because the book just captures you. If you have not read any of these books I highly suggest you do...I don't read often but I've read both these books over 50 times and usually re-read a chapter or two before I sleep.

Why are these book so interesting?

Personally for me Zombie represent the most realistic fictional threat that I have ever known about, it mixes fears of so many things into one, mainly a deadly Virus spreading through direct contact with the host.

Zombies are the most possible of mythical monster to exist, if anything they would be the most probable of all things like Werewolves and Vampires, because usually the basis behind them is real and explainable by science. The undead also have that emotional atachtment to them, they were all once human living and breathing, doing what every other human does...now they are nothing but flesh eating monsters...and as quick as that, you could be one of them endangering your loved one.

It's hard to explain when I'm tired...it's 3:11 in the mornaing, but there is just something about these books that grabs me and pulls me in...Seriously I would love to someday create something in the image of the world Max Brooks created in these books, a Game, Movie, Novel, maybe someday I will bring myself to do such things, but as of now I can only dream someone else will make my dream a reality...nothing would please me more than something like a Sandbox Resident evil.

This is also Why Resident Evil captures me as well, a Zombie Virus just seems so possible that it scares the living hell out of me...and thats why I love it so much!

Please let me know what you think of these books or just the general term of Zombies and what you think the Political and Social reaction of such a outbreak would be.

Now not do I only own all 3 systems, I also own both handhelds, both have some phenominal games and many times I wonder if they are better than what I can find on consols sometimes!

Two real reasons I like my PSP right now are all the great games that are out recently...now I admit I have yet to purchase the new God of War, but I do own the other two must own games for the PSP.

Patapon: Oh god, I'm not really sure why I am addicted to such a simple game, 4 buttons...thats it, but the tune is just so catchy and it's just mesmerizing watching these little guys go against all odds in the name of...ME! You...go fight that dragon, seriously pick up that stick and go kill it in the name of the allmighty JYNX!

The minigames are nothing but pure fun, a few are agrevating at first but once you get the base of it, it's clockwork and you feel allmighty with mountains droping rocks for you to stewing in giant pots...while you don't do any of the work watching a tiny patapon with a knife twice the size of his body chop up flying food just makes me happy...or playing on a mountains toes to copy his rhythm...is just Bizare and pleasing in some way.

The boss fights are epic with monster much larger and deadlier than your little army could ever face, from giant dragons to GIANT ENEMY CRABS, they got it all. I won't give too much away but "IT" is what the Patapons march on this crusade to see, and "IT" is amazing, and just sort of bring you back and makes you feel the part of the lord of the little guys who could. The game also has great replay every time you face a boss they become stronger, and stronger, so you can always challenge yourself to be better!

    ALL HAIL PATAPON!

FFVII: Crisis Core...I am a nut for FFVII and this game was pure fan service and a new story unheard unknown but it needed to be known. The combat while a tad repetative, has enough spice to be interesting for a handheld game and the story just blows me away...

The big part of combat that is interesting is the DMW *Digital Mind Wave* it's like a slot machine with people you know on it, when 3 faces match you will bust out a powerfull limit break and sometimes even a secret cutscene between Zack and the character. The DMW also controls how you level up and it's a bit of a odd mechanic...while this random leveling up may seem odd the game seems to pick up on when you need to level up and you can still grind your character much more powerfull than the main game demands, through the side missions.

*Minor Spoilers to those who have not played FFVII* No FF:CC spoilers.

Zack was a odd character in FFVII Because he was never alive during the events, but still all the more important due to his friendship with cloud and even clouds case of mistaken memories wich stem from his time spent with Zack. The story also fills in alot of blanks and bring in a whole new story and some things just blow your mind.

I will let you known I cry very few times when I play games, but I have not felt so emotional over a game sence You know who dies in FFVII...it just broke my heart even though you knew it was coming the whole time you end up just fooling yourself into thinking it wont happen and the game will deviate ever so slightly than the original does...but everything is brutaly real and sad.

I wont say anything more lest I give away one of the best stories I have seen in a long...long time. Not sence the first time I was so moved by FFVII have I felt this way about a game, it is a must own if you have a PSP there is no reason other than you hate FFVII for some reason to not own this. If you even glanced at it and thought it was interesting shell the $40 bucks for it NOW!

    *PS*
New header let me know what you think.

This is mainly for System wars posters, and not the average stupid ones you find...but the educated one, the ones who don't bash a system because they don't own it or never will due to blind rage.

God oh god, why do we even try to make sense to the ignorant masses of SW, you can bring up the best point about any system and it will be shot down by 12 new troll accounts, and just a bunch of people trying to proove you wrong rather than agree it's a good point and move on. But I guess that is asking too much...Like earlier I seen a post talking about Final Fantasy CC scored a 9.0...now first thing I noticed were a bunch of people saying wow good for Sony, yada yada general good stuff...then I see a post come up asking if GS has gone easy on review scores...why? Because it scored 7.5 somewhere else? Do people really understand that reviews are opinions?

Generally a conclusion most fanboys come to is that scores are law, and determine who is the best...wich I can not disagree with more, I hate some of the best scoring games ever, Halo series...I just don't like it, but I can agree it's a good game, has solid online and bring alot to the genre...well most of them I can agree with.

But if a fanboy claims Halo 3 is god, and someone brings up the fact that Call of Duty 4 has solid online, great ideas like perks, and a solid single player...you will get shot down in the worst way, you don't even have to disagree but just say that games on par exist...it just is not comprehendable to them...because they refuse to think otherwise.

So I say...why do we even bother to have inteligent debate with these people...I just seen someone say Metal Gear solid has the worst storyline ever...and god it just makes me want to...

    facepalm

    /facepalm.

So we have the consol race...3 teams all jaring for the first prize of being #1 in sales. How they achieve this goal is different, one released a year early to try and trounce on the competition while they scrambled into releasing there products. Another released a system with a new movie format in it that eventually won the format war...but did it damage there chances at victory, or set them up for success? Last but not least, a system that revolves around a ingenious idea of motion control, with a simple design and easy to use controler that lacks the complex schemes of other controlers, will the casual market they have secured raise them to heaven or doom them to mockery within the comunity.

All the systems have a issue, neither of them are a clear cut winner of loser yet, with the odds in perhaps the Wii's favor in the sales standard, but it's early anything can happen the Wii could suddenly drop out of the ultra hype that surrounds it sales and IMHO fules more sales than the game itself do. Before I start just know I love all 3 of the systems and own them and buy/play games for them. I have unconditional love for every one of them, the only issues I have are just rants and nothing more. So let me start my rant with Nintendo.

Everything I say is totally anecdotal, I am posting this as if my assumptions were fact, feel free to correct and dissagree with me also feel free to track me down and stab me repeatidly with a Sharp/blunt object if I offend you.

The Wii, the mighty powerhouse of a system that has taken the world by storm. Nintendo was more or less mocked with there abysmall sales of the gamecube and was almost written off as a next gen contender, perhaps they took a key on that "Not next gen contener" and decided to stay with last gen tech and save tons of money so even if they system collapsed beneath itself the money they were racking in hand over fist would float there ship as it had with the gamecube. Amazingly enough the system was a hit, not even nintendo expected it to ever reach this magnitude...or did they? Perhaps Nintendo knew the casual market the biggest market out there would totally consume the Wii as it did with the DS, perhaps they really want it to be a hard to get system, perhaps they are artificially constraining supply, maybe not keeping supply but not producing the mean to pump out the systems that are demanded. Why? I'll tell you why, Hype sells...plain and symple a popular item sells alot due to it's popularity not because it's a good system.

Take tickle me elmo for example, god awefull toy but children want it because they know there friend has one so they ask mom to get them one, Mom finds out it's out of stock everywhere and so assume it's the best thing in the world and tells there friends who in chainlike formation tell there friends and so becomes a trend where children who don't even know what elmo is are being lavished the privalige of owning one. Consumers nowdays are as ineducated and ignorant about researching the item they wish to purchase, it sickens me sometimes to see someone buy something just because they heard it was good from someone and so assume it must be the bomb, the best thing out there even if it's not.

Right now the Wii feels to me more like McDonalds, cheap, gets the job done, and very...very popular.

I'll keep you updated with my rants on the other machines...the 360 is next on my list.

Also once I am done my rant threads I'll probably make posts about all the systems good points...but my main anger for Nintendo stems from this brawl issue wherein my SSBB won't play in my Wii and doubt I can send it in for repairs due to me being misguided by nintendo into thinking the lense was "Contaminated" I believe this to be a utter lie and there must be a flaw with some systems.

Why would you send the Wii in for cleaning when it will just get dirty again? Will Nintendo continue to "Clean" it for free or are they recalling some units to fix a bug with a few batches of consols?

    /end rant.

Seriously there is alot of buzz going about Devil May Cry 4 as it is the most recent game in the series Devil May Cry.

Devil May Cry is known as game series that was the love child of a never released Resident Evil game, instead of destroying the engine and hard work they transformed the game into what we now know as the first Devil May Cry game. Filled with stylish and over the top combat and even some cheesy lines "I was supposed to be the one to fill your soul with LIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTT!!!!" among other things.

After the first game there became a cult following for the second game DMC2 a huge letdown for fans of the game, it had lost all it's charm...or you could say it was not as "Bad ass" as the previous game. Dante was not as outspoken and the combat system leaned heavilly towards ranged combat, where as we all know is not that fun in a hack and slash game. The characters just did not have the same development as it did in the first game and it just seemed a step backwards for the series.

The third game Devil May Cry 3 was a quantim leap forward from DMC2 and brough back the charm and badass mood we all loved in the first game. The grueling difficulty of the game did get to some, but was a welcome change to others, but at times the difficulty was madeningly frustrating, making you scratch your head and wonder what the devlopers were thinking when they did a test play through the game. The game starts off with a great custscene showing Dante let a group of demons who bust into his abode run him through just to spite them...this, unfortunatly does not work for you in the game as it drops you off into a fight with a short life bar and no continues! Once you got the hang of the game though it was fun slashing enemies and watching them bleed like demonic hemopheliacs, then they also introduced the "Styles" aspect to the game with 4 different styles to choose from Trickster, Swordmaster, Gunsling or Royal guard. Each has it's own unique appeal and skillset overall adding yet another layer of replay and depth to the game. Overall DMC3 is in many ways takes a note from Ninja Gaiden, also a sometimes frustratingly difficult game.

Now all these games have been released on Sony Playstation systems, the point is DMC has never been to a Xbox consol how does it translate into the new system?

As far as we know, very well both systems relay a almost identical graphical benchmark next to eachother, while the PS3 gets shorter loading times and a motion blur to hide some jaggies, the 360 seems to have sharper textures like most multiplatform games.

Fanboys will try to fool you into saying one version is better than the other wether they slam the install on the Ps3 or the 360 controler, or just the graphics wich are almost pinpoint identical. Devil may Cry 4 is shaping up to be a greate title for both systems and a good title to help the PS3 build up it's shallow library.

Sometimes I wonder though, what would the game have been like if Capcom had not decided to sell the game for the 360 as well? Would the graphics be sharper on the PS3 due to one dev team working on one system? or would the outcome be the same?

Either way you look at it I'm glad that DMC4 is coming to the gaming world in all it's Bad ass glory.

    ...SLAM DUNK!!!

I own all 3 of the next gen systems, and I tend to find myself defending the PS3 alot...would I call myself a fanboy? No, I think most of my arguments have valid reason behind them and it's just conversation, not really much fun in defending the 360 or Wii they have a large following devoted to making sure we all know Halo 3 scored 9.5 and the Wii is always sold out. I like to stick up for the other guy and make sure everyone knows fanboys spout lots of nonsense.

On to the Bulk of my first blog post. I hate fanboys because!

    1.They deny themselves greate games

2.They spout crap all the time

3.They all think they are experts in one way or another.

4.It's impossible to have a logical conversation with one unless it's for there system.

5.You can't just say it once, you have to repeate it until my brain explodes the next new catch line "9.5" "Bu bu bu" Shut the hell up we heard the line 18 times before and it's ruins the charm when 600 idiots repeat it.

6.It just makes no sense to me why someone would blindy defend something so, when there are problems you should admit it, hell the 360 has hardware issues and M$ did jack about it until they had to, stop trying to say they were saints with there craptastic waranty extension we all know they had to do something or face a lawsuit eventually, they just picked the lesser of two evils.

Yes the PS3 had a crap launch with some unerwhelming games, this does not mean it's doomed quit making threads about them stoping the production lines and never making another system again!

Yes the Wii has alot of game oriented towards children...SO WHAT! there are plenty of games geared for us gamers as well, Super mario galazy, Super smash, Resident Evil: UC and suchforth, quit your whining about teh kiddy games.

Maybe I'm just preaching to the choir because 7/10 posters on System wars is a fanboy, and I should expect very little logic on a board dedicated to bashing other systems, I just wish people could bring up a logical point without getting the crap flamed out of him for making a point, with waves of 9.5's and teh kiddy or teh bu ray payer! HAHAHAHAHAHA111111.

Anyways thats it for my first rant stay tuned for more when I deem it.
