    My childish dream is complete...

Today is indeed quite historic. Ever since I got the FC Twin, I've been looking for NES and SNES games at various stores (whether they be online or not) to fill in for games that I may have missed in the past or for the games I remember playing when I was two, three, or four. The only game that I could play with it was Clay Fighter since it was the only game I owned after I lost my SNES collection (which wasn't very big at that). A week ago I played my second NES game ever (the first was a brief play-through of Super Mario Brothers 3 with a friend) called River City Ransom. It is, indeed, a very fun beat-em-up (especially with other people!), but if I had to choose one reason why I even bought the console in the first place, it would be only to find and play one game. I saw it on eBay for only 18.50 (shipping included), and I couldn't help myself but to get this game. People, I want you to see what may be my most favorite and memory-inducing game ever:

Behold! Zombies Ate My Neighbors is back in my hands, and I couldn't be happier. Ya, I've had Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, and ya I even had the odd games like Mario's Time Machine and Mega Man Soccer, but when I look back at my days with the SNES (or from what I remember anyways), I remember Zombies Ate My Neighbors almost right off. I am quite happy. Hell, I just might be happier than any of you! If you've ever played this game, please let me know, because I just want to see how many people remember this game. Now, it's time to play this game; I might give you first impressions later through the day, but I just might wait until I'm completely done. Have a great day, everybody

    -James

Does anyone remember a SNES game that had people falling down in a river of a sewer? I wanna say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I also wanna say Street Fighter for some reason. Help would be much appreciated if possible!

    Clay Fighter Review is up.

...What!? It's the greatest purchase I've made, admittingly, since a month ago. But still, it's truly something that I've wanted practically all my life, and now I have it. I'm not sure if you have this store or not, but Gameware is the best game store I've ever been to! Go there if you can.

Anyways, this can now give me an excuse to play one of the oldest games I have, Clay Fighter. I'll never know how I still have this game and not anything else (I lost pretty much everything else SNES), but whatever, I had good memories playing this when I was three or five years old (one of the only things I remember back then). It wouldn't take a while to get through everything that was offered in this game, and because it is one of my prized possessions, I'm gonna bounce back to writing reviews with this game. Please let me know if you notice any grammatical errors or how you thought of the review. Thank you.

    Pros: Comedic presentation, playable enough...

Cons: Choppy animations, occasionally cheap AI and collision, you can finish everything in under an hour...

What Else Is There to Say?

The game's presentation mixed with decent fighting mechanics can make this a good purchase if you find it at a bargain bin. Know that it's going to be a pretty average fighting game, though.

That's all for today. I'll hope to do something in the future. Have a great day.

    -James

Get Surfer Rosa and Doolittle if you haven't yet! That was originally the best purchase I've made in forever. It still sounds like nothing else! I'm positive you won't be disappointed, so please pick it up if you like music!

He comes back to your life!!!

Hello, everyone. The previous year has been an inactive year for me at Gamespot, but I finished my Sophmore year in high school, probably way too excited, and I'm ready to do a buncha stuff!

Well, as much as I can handle at least. You see, my Grams has signed me up to an online SAT prep course. For those of you that don't know, the SAT is an exam that helps you get into colleges. Anyways, I flat-out suck at them, and need to do this. But oh my god it is diabolically boring (so far, at least, but let's face it, no one wants to go through courses to take a four-hour multiple choice and essay test).

That, and reading summer reading books will take up my time (and my stamina) for the summer. The last book I read, The Piano Lesson, I didn't like too well because, to my dissappointment, it has little to do with the actual piano. It is a play about adult African American siblings set in the 30's or 40's, so you should already know where this is going to lead. The brother (who was originally lovable badass Samuel L. Jackson!) hasn't showed his face for three years, and is coming back to get a family piano to sell it for land that was owned by the people that enslaved their parents. The sister, however, thinks he's a scumbag, and wants to keep it in memory of her mother and for her daughter to play it. However, when the brother seems to take the piano, he is prevented by a ghost. He then wrestles a ghosts, the sister finally plays the piano, something happens, and the brother walks away, ending the play. Thus, I have no idea what happend; did he die? It makes no sense! But at least that book was short; now I have to read a book called The Things They Carried, a 250-page book relating to the Vietnam War. It seems interesting, but the first chapter (26 pages!) described the things they carried. Awesome.

Anyways, hopefully I'll have time helping out with some unions. It's not gonna be easy for me, what with the reading and the learning and the practicing and the video game-playing, but I'll have plenty of time to do as much as I can helping out with most of the unions I signed up for (and who knows? Maybe I can actually create my own dreamy union. But I'm gonna take it one step at a time.).

Anyways, I bought quite a few games today (Why not? I've only completed none of my summer gaming goals): First of them is Chrono Cross. Now, I want to take pictures, but Mozilla Firefox doesn't do that for some reason, so whatever (If there's a way to cheat the system or an alternative then let me know, but I think it's just gamespot doing that). It's a critically acclaimed game, and quite popular on the original Playstation, so I've been wanting to get this forever. Now that I have, paying 20 dollars, I can't wait to play it. Another Playstation game that I got is actually a collection of two SquareSoft (present-day Square Enix) games, Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger, dubbed Final Fantasy Chronicles. Both games I haven't played yet, and both are considered to be some of the RPG genre's finest. It's only 15 dollars used, so it was a pretty good deal, especially when it's games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV. And finally, I decided to go back and expand my PSP collection since I haven't touched the thing for ten months. The first game I chose for now is Patapon, the game from the developers that made Loco Roco. Loco Roco was quite fun, but it was too short and the difficulty curve, while mainly easy, was zig-zaggy at the end. However, Loco Roco is still considered awesome in my books, and with an insane concept, critical approval, and a sweet 20 bucks, I had no choice but to buy it and try this sucker out. But once I finish Killer7 and Contra 4, I'll get more time to work on playing these games.

Well, that's all for tonight. I hope to be active in Gamespot, video games, and in other activities. So here's to an awesome summer!

    -James

What I learned in SATs so far: ETS (company that makes SATs) actually are not a bunch of wisemen at all. Just a couple of Businessmen cashing in. Also, the importance of an SAT is to see how well you do on an SAT.

Essay Question that will obviously be important in your future: The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu states that "One that has extended knowledge is not wise". The Greek philosopher Socrates claims that "The only thing I know is that I know nothing". However, he also says that "Ignorance is the only evil". Explain your opinion with as many specific examples as possible. (Time Limit: 25 minutes)
