GRAPHICS KING - FEAR (MGS2 on PS2 looked great, but its hard to beat a PC game from 2005)

SINGLE PLAYER - Metal Gear Solid 2 (How many times i beat this game? Jesus!)

ONLINE - Americas Army (I played this PC game hundreds of hours, i was a beast in Sandstorm)

STORY - Metal Gear Solid 3 (Well this one at least made some sense! Freaks aside lol)

SOUND - Metal Gear Solid 2 (Oh that intro!)

REPLAY VALUE - Metal Gear Solid 2 (You have no online, but i couldn't stop playing you!)

NEW SERIES - Onimusha series (I prefer Resident Evil, but these games were cool too!)

GOTG - METAL GEAR SOLID 2 - Yeh, it had to be. This game... just wow. We had some great games during these 5 years. I will like to mention some other great games... Resident Evil 4, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, San Andreas, Vice City, GTA III, God of War, and God of War 2. Great years to be a gamer.

This gen is about to end. I started with 360 and then PS3 took over. I also played some PC games. It has been 8 years... fun years.

The Best...

SINGLE PLAYER GRAPHICS - Uncharted 3 (That desert and yemen!)

ONLINE GRAPHICS - Killzone 2/3 (A draw, 2 technically better, 3 more detailed)

GRAPHICS KING - Uncharted 3 (Did i mention the desert?)

SINGLE PLAYER - Metal Gear Solid 4 (I beat it about 20 times, so much to do)

ONLINE - Killzone 2 (Custom ranked servers, weight, recoil, blood, clan matches, hardcore)

HARDCORE GAMEPLAY - Vanquish (Sick fast hardcore TPS gameplay, a true hardcore GAME)

STORY - Mass Effect 1 (ME1 has by far the best story ever in a videogame)

SOUND - Mass Effect 1 (Just wow)

BEST CO OP - Uncharted 3 (Yeah i got my star!)

REPLAY VALUE - Killzone 2 (With the online i played it over 1700 hours!)

NEW SERIES - Mass Effect series (I just love the story, the sci fi, and yes the ending of 3 too!)

GAME OF THE GENERATION - Uncharted 2 (This game doesn't win any individual awards, but it wins my GOTG. It was the most complete package, being good at everything. Its better to be good at everything, then be amazing at 2 things and not that good at the rest. The best single player in the series, the longest too, good co op, and casual but fun online make this my highest rated game this gen.)

First i'll like to point out i'm happy i got my predictions right. I predicted years ago PS4 was coming late 2013 and it is (lol pachter), i predicted it will launch with either KZ4 or UC4 (my last blog post) and it is... KZ Shadow Fall! I don't have a magic ball, but i'm usually right... so here is another one for the future... PS4 is Sony's last console. Yep!

PS4, THE DREAM

All the RAM we need - I used to be a member at GameTrailers.com. Last year i had a fight over there with one guy who said next gen consoles wont release with more than 2GB of ram! Well i hope that guy likes 8GB GDDR5! I told him PS4 will have at least 4GB of ram, and it almost was until Sony made a last minute move and put 8GB on it. With this much RAM we will have no problem with open world games and with its speed we wont see any pop ups. PS3 suffered with low RAM, not this time.

Record the ownage - Last year at GT.com i made a post on a thread that asked what we would like to see on PS4. I posted i want PS4 to be able to record gameplay. My dream has come true. The Share feature on PS4 is awesome and easy to use. Go Sony!

Easy to develop for - Alright, lets face it, PS3 was hard as hell to develop for. It suffered mostly on multiplat games. Well now this is history. PS4 is way easier to develop for... and not only that... PS4 was made to get the max out of the hardware. Both the CPU and GPU will be able to communicate much faster than in a traditional PC set up because they are both built on the same chip and both tap direcly into the GDDR5.

The controller - I was scared that PS4 might go the casual way and we end up having a Wii like controller. That would of been the death of gaming for me. Now knowing we get a controller that actually looks like a controller was one of my dreams. The Dualshock 4 is really awesome, great improvement. Keeping the size with a touch screen, nice job! The Share button is amazing, improved triggers, more grip, and other new features. Best of all, it has all that and is not the size of a tablet (Wii U LOL).

Just months away on getting my hands of this beast...

2012 was weak, very weak. It's like Sony was holding on to all their games so they could release them this year and give PS3 the best possible ending.

Ni No Kuni came out of nowhere. Another AAA great Sony exclusive that i didn't see coming. It reminds me of Dragon Quest 8, so for me that makes it a must buy. Pretty soon we also have God of War Acension. I wasn't thinking about buying it, but now that i see its much more than an online GOW, i guess i gotta fork out the cash. The Last of Us is coming out i think around May. This game is one of the biggest games of the year. Not sure if i will wait for a GOTY edition or buy at release date. Beyond Two Souls should be out late this year. Not sure if i will buy, but its another big game from Sony to look forward to. And finally there is one game that might be out late this year, or might not be, The Last Guardian. Yes... Sony rules.

2013 is also more than just Sony exclusives. There are lots of good multiplat games to look forward to, like Dead Space 3 and the big boy... Grand Theft Auto V. GTAV might also release on PSnext, so maybe it will be better to wait for the next gen version.

Speaking of next gen. 2013 is truly the year when next gen will start. Wii U was not next gen, it was even worse than last gen (specs). PSnext will be out late this year and there is a high chance it will release with a big name exclusive, which could be Uncharted 4 or Killzone 4.

What an amazing year we have to look forward to, but man... DLC. Did anyone see how milked Dead Space 3 is gonna get? Reminds me of Uncharted 3. It's like paying real world money to cheat. Why bother playing to get a weapon? Just pay $5 for it! Pathetic EA. You just know that Naughty Dog will milk The Last of Us as well... that is why i said... i might wait for the GOTY edition.

My PC will be able to max it easy but i'm not getting it on PC. A bit better, sharper looking graphics is not enough for me to say no to PS3 version which still looks good (considering the last 2 games).

Reasons why i'm getting on PS3...

- I have first 2 on PS3

- Trophies

- Co op with my PSN friends

- DualShock 3 (i love playing these games with DS3, i know on i can make a DS3 work on PC.... somehow lol but why in the world would i waste my time doing something like that? o.O)

I used to be a big PC gamer during the PS2 days. I still loved my PS2 and all the good games, but PC gaming was so much more advanced at the time. Comparing a PS2 game with Half Life 2 was a big difference. I had a beast PC. I upgraded my 4600ti to a $400 6800GT. I was blowing money into PC gaming like crazy all to max out games like Doom 3 or Half Life 2. I enjoyed it, but 3 years later i saw the truth.

In 2006 i bought a 360 and pretty much gave up on PC gaming. Games like Gears of War that year looked better than the stuff i was playing on PC. The following year i see the 6800GT i bought in 2004 is completely outdated and cant even play Crysis at low. That year i also buy a PS3... bad start with no good games, but once they start coming... wow!

Recently i bought a very good laptop. I learned from past mistakes and did not waste loads of money on a power hungry desktop beast. My laptop is good, i5, 6GB, 630m. Multiplat games like Dead Space, Fallout, Mass Effect, all look a bit better running maxed out on my laptop than on the 6 year old PS3, but if you compare exclusives PS3 wins. I got STALKER running maxed out and i compare it to Killzone 2/3... sure STALKER is semi open world, but man does Killzone look better. And sure a power hungry beast desktop that can play Witcher 2 on ultra and Crysis on ultra and full of graphics mods beats PS3, but these people are a minority... a minority i used to be part of and dont want to be again.

PS4 is about a year away. I would be pretty dumb if i waste $1000-$2000 on a desktop knowing how outdated it will be. Paying $500 for a 680GTX and knowing it will struggle with new games 3 years from now. If you are rich and have that much money to burn on games... well go for it. I rather pay $350-450 for PS4 and know i can play games for years while the 680GTX will be about as useless as my old 6800GT.

Graphics gap this gen wasn´t as big as last between PC/console and it will be even smaller next gen. Also, with the optimizing the guys at Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, and other Sony devs will do on PS4... and the budget they have... i actually think PS4 will be graphics king for a good while.

Nasty DLC.... just found out they release new UC3 DLC... so i go take a look and see some character items and a few taunts for them. Guess the price for it all.... $50... YES, 50 US DOLLARS. lol what in the world? This is one insane rip off. Naughty Dog not only charging for this, they also charging for tickets to play tourneys, and even you can now buy skins that before you only unlock by a players skill getting treasures. Money money money. As if charging people (fortune hunters club) wasn't enough, and that was mostly stuff from UC2. Uncharted 3 got milked to death and i refuse to buy anything, they can have this from me ..i. my current trophy % stands of 50% after i plat UC3, LOL. All the UC3 DLC is like $100 lol. Pathetic ND.

ND is not the only one of course. Max Payne 3 is getting free DLC this month! OMG! Free 1 crappy map DLC. But why? Multiplayer is kinda dead so they had to revive it so they can later charge us for the upcoming DLC milk. The last 3 DLC will cost you... $30. o.O Rockstar planned so much DLC for this game before it even shipped, a game whos multiplayer mode was going to be dead fast. Now they smashing all the DLC's they planned into 3 and charging $10 for each... on a dead multiplayer mode. Great job ROCKSTAR. Now you have no choice but to release the milk you were holding on to.

Just pathetic what gaming is turning into. Next gen i buy very few games on PS4. I will wait for price drops and GOTY editions. And only download games. They never gonna rip me off, never!!! Gaming industry .i.. o.o ..i.

Following the hype... what is that? Very simple, buying the same games most people buy. You know... Call of Duty... Battlefield... Fifa. The hype games millions buy every year.

Everyone can buy whatever they want. There is nothing wrong with buying the hype games. Or is there? Yes... there is something very bad about that. When millions buy COD it makes other developers want to be like COD, because they want a piece of the market. The perfect example was a game i was looking forward to... Killzone 3... a game that tried to go the COD casual way. So people supporting these hype games (COD) is hurting gaming.

I don't like Fifa or COD. I like Pro Evo and Killzone. Killzone can sell 2 million and the next COD can sell 20 million... i will still buy the games i enjoy, not buy a game just because other people are buying it.

Guys... support good games ! There are so many good games that got hit hard with bad sales, just look at the hardcore Vanquish... now we probably never get a sequel . There are many games out there that deserve the attention. Has anyone played Siren Blood Curse on PS3? It's a very good survival horror game, unlike the way better selling Reseident Evil 5... wait that game ain't even survival horror... what is it? A mindless arcady african shooter? lol. Lets support devs who make great unique games, instead of the same old COD every single year!
