I JOST GOT A NEW JOB!!!!
I just needed to say that
It's finally back!!!
Even though it's only been a few months I've really missed football (the Euros and Olympics don't count), but it's back and has been an intresting first day so far.
Both Fulham and Swansea are off to great starts, winning 5-0 against Norwich and QPR respectively. However it wasn't such a good start for Liverpool, losing 3-0 to West Brom and having Agger sent off, they're going to have to step it up if they want to finish higher than 8th this season. I really don't think Brendan Rodgers is the right man for the job but for all I know he was the only person that would take it.
Arsenal also got off to a slow start with a goalless draw with Sunderland, Arsenal's 3 new men not having much of an impact. Also as I'm typing this Alex Song has signed for Barcelona, that's another good play Arsenal has lost this season, I can see them struggle until the new players gel with the rest of the team, even then I think they might find it hard to finish in the top 4.
Reading and Stoke drew 1-1 and West Ham beat Villa 1-0. I believe these 4 teams will finish near the bottom of the table with 1 or 2 of them being relegated, so the quicker they pick up points the better.
Newcastle and Spurs are playing right now and, to me, are quite even teams and both will be challenging for a top 4 finish. Though Spurs really need another striker if they want to do well this season.
There are 2 games on tomorrow (Sunday 19th Aug) Wigan v Chelsea and Man City v Southampton, and the last game of the openning weekend is on Monday (20th Aug), Everton v Man Utd. I do think Chelsea will do much better than last season (finished 6th) but I don't think they will challenge for the title. That will be down to 2 teams, Man Utd and, even though I hate to admit it, Man City. It'll be another tight year at the top but I believe Man Utd will win with a 2 point gap.
That's how I see it at the moment but it could change, it's a long season and anything can happen in football and that's why I love it.
Till next time (if there is a next time that is ), see ya!
Federer has gone and won Wimbledon once again, this time at the expence of Andy Murray. I was really looking forward to this years final when Murray beat Tsonga to get there. It all started great for Murray in the first set as Federer looked nervous and wasn't playing at his best. When Murray got the brake at 4-4, and then went on to win the first set, it seemed that it just might of been his year.
Murray had good chances in the second set to go 2 love up, but Federer, being the top player he is, saved a number of brake points and came back to take the second set. After that everything seemed to go Federer's way, after 2 games in the third set play was suspended due to the rain.
When play continued, which was now with the roof closed due to the rain, Murray didn't seem to take to it. He sliped a few times and lost points because of it, he was also struggling to keep his serve. Federer on the other hand looked like he was back to his best, or close to it. He took the next 2 sets quite easly and won the match 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. Murray had his chances to get back in it but could take them.
Murray played well and we can all be proud of him, maybe next year he'll go 1 step further and win it. I just hope we don't have to wait another 74 years before someone gets to the final again.
