    Don't starve - A unique game?

So, it still is in open beta, but I'd like to talk about a magnificent game called Don't Starve.

Developed by Kiei Entertainment, the game is set in a fantasy world where surviving is the sole and main purpose. Well, yeah, you can build farms, travel and do lots of things. But in the end, they all are necessary in order to stay alive.

Since we live in an era where short descriptions are usually easy to make, I'll say that this is not the case. Most similar experience to this game I've ever had, was the first times I played Minecraft. You know the thrill of finding food, coal, wood and shelter, all before night comes?

Take that, multiply it by the hundreds and that's Don't Starve. (truth be told, crafting system and many other things will make you believe at first that this is a Minecraft rip off. Wrongest assumption ever)(I hope "wrongest" is a word)

Technically, the game gets easier as you understand how it works, although it's always challenging as the first time you played it. The fact is, it doesn't matter how much you think you know, random generated maps, random generated encounters, random generated climate and seasons, the need to find food and - cherry on top of the cake - the need of preserving your mental sanity, all these things will always keep you interested in the game.

So, let's talk a little of each aspect of the game and I'll let you go to your business.

    Graphics:

Though cartoonish, they are very awesome. If you played it, imagine a goth version of Deathspank or Torchlight. Not only the world looks beautiful, also characters and costumes are very pretty as well

    Gameplay;

I've already talked about it, so I won't be boring you too much with this. Let's just say that the increasing difficulty of the game matches your learning curve, and challenge is something you won't be missing.

    Music:

Pretty. Not the best one I've ever heard in a game, but pretty. Maybe a little repetitive if you play a lot like I do... but pretty.

    Story:

Kind of a letdown here, since the story doesn't virtually exist (wake up, find dude that tells you to move, you do, you search the dude, you kill him) But hey, the game is still in beta so they might do something about it - not that it's really important in this kind of game. Just think of Minecraft and its beautiful story...

    Characters:

All the characters have their unique sentences and thoughts about the surrounding world, and some unique features. Crazy enough, eve without a background story, that alone is enough to make them enjoyable.

    Bugs:

None, as far as I know.

What's more to say?  The game is about 10$ on Steam right now, and it's a pack of two copies (don't ask me why) So if you a find a friend that is interested, buy it together and enjoy.

I know this is more kind of a review, and I have no idea how this blog thing works and if anyone is going to read this, but I'm loving this game so much that I felt it needed some kind of review or something.

    See you all!
