I've had some free time the last couple of days, so I'd thought I'd take this opportunity to make new banner. With Megaman 9 on the horizon, I'd thought it would be fitting to make a banner based on my favorite game in the series (Megaman 2). I was originally going to find an image on Google, blow it up in photoshop and call it good, but it was far too blurry to use. Thus, I decided to recreate the image, pixel by pixel, to make it much crisper and clear. Also, I tried to replicate the Megaman 2 text on the opening screen, and think I got as close as I'm ever going to get. But overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the results.
A new sig and avatar are next on my to do list, but I can't guarantee when I get them done. In the near future would be a good guess, I suppose.
The Long Version:
People seem to have a love/hate relationship with spoilers. Whether it be for movies, television, books, or video games, if you look hard enough (or simply fall into the category of 'wrong place, wrong time') you can be easily spoiled. Some wish to keep their eyes and ears covered from such temptation and feel fully enthralled with their particular medium when they finally have it in their hands. Others seek the truth, knowledge, to satisfy their curiosity (we are human after all), and perhaps a relieved feeling to know that their belief in their medium were justified and not unfounded. And sometimes, people are dicks and love to ruin the fun of others. Whatever the reason, spoilers are out there; they are everywhere, and we must deal with them. But do spoilers really ruin one's gaming experience? It depends on the person I suppose (and what exactly gets spoiled).
Take me for example. I have been spoiled so many times in my life, I'm beginning to think that I like it. To have things ruined for me. It's kinda strange when I think about it; at first. I was adamantly against any sort of spoilers, but now, they don't bug me at all. When Brawl info was finally leaked to the masses, I was there. I knew the story-lines of several major upcoming motion pictures before they were released (*cough* Indiana Jones *cough*) and I knew the fate of a certain boy wizard before the books even hit the shelves. It never really clicked that I may be ruining something great for myself, but I did it anyway. Yes, yes, I'm a terrible person, but in the end, nothing was ruined, and everything turned out fine. It's almost like peeking at your Christmas (or birthday, or whatever...) gifts a few days before you were suppose to get them. It may ruin the surprise, but it doesn't really deter from the fun (unless you get socks or some crap like that). Which leads me to the subject of MGS4.
I've seen multiple threads on multiple websites dealing with such topics, and I've seen numerous people crying foul over leaked MGS4 screenshots and tidbits, and all I can do is chuckle. So you've seen a picture or read some info from the game... so what? How do you really know that some of those so called spoilers are true, anyway? Is it really going to ruin your game experience to see a few leaked pictures? No. Will you be so discouraged by what you see that you will rush to your nearest store and cancel your preorder? No. Will it totally and undeniably kill any and all fun you have with this game? Certainly not. You are on a GAMING WEBSITE, after all. Such topics will be addressed eventually, whether you like it or not. My advice to you, O gamers of strong willpower, is to let it slide. The only way to truly, truly be unspoiled (especially in this day and age) is to stay far away from gaming forums (or even the Internet if it really bugs you) for the next week. And if you happen to go to a tread where someone posts a pic where "Blah and Bleh meets Bla in the blahblah", don't throw a hissy fit. Report the bugger and let the mods to their jobs, and we can all go on with our lives.
The Short Version:
You are on the Internet. Spoilers are everywhere. Either you read them or you don't. There you go.
Also, in case you are wondering, yes, I have seen the spoilers for MGS4. Major plot points, characters, cut scenes, secrets, magazine scans, major boss battles (even the final boss)... I've seen quite a bit. And you know what? I'm still going to play, and beat, this awesome game. And as much as I like spoilers, I won't ruin it for you; it's not really my style. But hey, if you want the info bad enough, the Internet is a good place to start looking...
So I wake up this morning to find that most of my images (all hosted through ImageShack) are gone. Vanished. Disappeared of the face of the Earth (though mysteriously my avatar remains intact). I've noticed that some people on the site are affected while others are fine. What's up with this?
I'll try to get to the bottom of this. I can't stand looking at these failed images much longer.
UPDATE: It seems like everything is up and running again.
In a few days I'll bid adieu to my current locale and move into my new place. Right now, though, I'm just trying to clean up the place before I go (you wouldn't believe all the spare change and lost socks I've found so far). My new chateau is kind of a step down from where I'm at now (I'll definitely miss the projector. It made SMG all the more awesome
), but it's not too bad.
Also, the new place has a different internet provider, so I may or may not take a hit as far as online gameplay is concerned. I won't know for sure until I move in, so we'll see. I'll update (if necessary) in a couple of days, once I get settled in.

Probably a little lower than what I would rank them.
What do you guys think?
