    Finishing school, starting university

I'm 2 months away from the end of classes and my time to apply university is about to end.I've decided I'll study marketing, maybe I'll do some courses along with the career as I've said in older post (more especifically the last one) I would like to be a game designer I'd like to work in concept and gameplay elements of games, I'll later see If I work in games here so that later I can get a job in another country but at this time I feel to attached to my country, when I say my country I mean my friends and family it's not some kind of nationalism. Marketing was my other option for the thing I would do the rest of my life and I have come to realise from reading "a couple" (a lot) of things about game development that marketing is not particulary far from the "required" education of a game designer though I have to accompany the title with some CERTIFIED knowledge on programming, writing and some art stuff so in a long term I'll be able to choose what I'll do. This revelation has been a relief cause I was haunted by the possibility of choosing a road with no way back.

I feel like the last thing I wrote doesn't feel like "a last part"... why am I writing this??

    Videogame Career (need advice)

My father always wanted to study fimmaking, he is not one of those parents that will insist for a more "traditional" career he is not against any decision I take. I've been thinking about it for some time and now that I have run out of time I need advice. I'm between game designing and marketing (maybe oriented to e-business), the first thing u have to know is that I'm from Argentina and there aren't many "credited" videogame careers and even if there were I would rather study marketing or something related but work in videogames cause I've heard of game designers that studied psychology sociology or other careers and later they did courses or something. I want to know how is that considered in the industry I mean if studying a career directly related to videogames is better to "break in" or it isn't worth it, I'm thinking about studying in US (I've family there) if I can't find the career here, I know there are many of these "special schools" (no jokes here) now and I would like some career directly related with designing (concept, planning etc) I wouldn't mind to study a bit of programming (I'll probably have to) cause I'm good at that kind of things (It doesn't mean I enjoy doing it) but programming is definitely something I don't want to do for living.

The question is, is it really worth to start a career with the word "videogame" in it or can I just study marketing or something related?

My Story with Tales of Symphonia

When I was 13 no, that's too long ago, I think 14, my favorite games were Final Fantasies (they still are) and I had read somewhere about this game called ToS, at that time I had finished or I was playing Kingdom Hearts I don't remember (let's just avoid any other facts about my life cause if u haven't noticed it yet, I have a terrible memory). Well, the point is that KH was my introduction to Action RPGs, and I wanted more and then as I already told you I discovered this "FF with real fights" (though the only relation to FF is that it is an RPG, I think that was the first thing that came across my mind when I saw it) and I become obsessed with it, but I couldn't play it cause I didn't have a GC, I even got a poster from a Nintendo Magazine.

Like 2 years later and around 1 year before today I sold my PS2 and got a Wii with Twilight Princess and a used copy of ToS (really it sounds easier that it was, but I'm not telling the story of how I got the Wii cause a lot of people went trough the same and it isn't too interesting anyway) . Then when I got back home I connected the Wii and instead of playing I update the system firmware that took a long time (yeah I do things like that) and then after waiting like 20 minutes for the update with a 10mb connection I put the cartridge (the mini dvd lol)to realise I couldn't play with the clas sic controler I had bought (I was way too excited to read the back of the box), luckily I was able to trade it for a GC controller (again it sounds easier than it was)and I tried again (that was after like a month) and then I couldn't play because I needed a GC memory (I thought it would use the wii internal storage so I sweared... a lot) and then when I got everything, after like a month and a half of getting the wii and and after having beaten TP (that felt tasteless) I finally played the game... the first 10 minutes "felt like somebody had kicked open the door to my mind" (I took that from someone talking about "like a rolling stone", I think Elvis Costello) and after a year I still play it, and it's one of my favorite games side by side with FF6, about ToS2, I hope it's as good as the first one but I have my doubts about it, by the way it got 31/40 (8-8-8-7) on famitsu while the original ToS got 34 (9-8-8-9)
