Computer Games are beautiful things, You can shape, create anything you want, they are one of Art's purest forms. We can become absorbed into their worlds, as beautiful as or horrifying as they may be. they can give us experiences which we may never be able to experience without them.

The Wii-U and My Thoughts
So! Nintendo have finally announced their successor to the highest selling console this generation the 'Wii', which has the highest selling game of all time, and the highest amount of consoles sold and shifted since it's launch, will all being obsolete to their competitors; Playstation and Xbox. Which was hell of a smack in the face for them. The Wii lacked power, good graphics, a robust online and a large thrid part support. But through those troubled scales, it swarmed the public and their interest. Why? Innovation, and offering minimal features to the crowd. the Casual Crowd lapped it up, it was cheap, accesable and fun, and people didnt mind paying £170 for a console compared to the staggering £350 PS3 wanted when they were released. Besides no one actually had 'Motion Controls' in their own home before, apart from their tacky Time Crysis, or Eyetoy. It was more eye opening to the games industry than the Ipod and the App store.

The Wii-U.
So there we are, Nintendo's future console, seems like a modern ****Wii, with a Ipad with buttons for a controller. But the thing that strikes me most is the combination of controllers, you can uses that tablet thing, or the original Wii-motes to control your games. A interesting mix to casual and hardcore crowd, no doubt the Casuals will want to keep playing their wii sports ( or Wii-U Sports, as it could be) yet the hardcore, will have this meaty new controller to play their hardcore games ( Such as Call of Duty or whatever ). Another thing to note is the High end graphics, with Hdmi support, which is a major push seeing as Nintendo has stayed away from it.Another thing i was excited about the new Wii-U, is the 3rd party support. Activison, Sega, Square Enix, Thq etc etc. They are no doubt going to be a part of the new Wii because of what Nintendo has achieved in the past. Sega's Aliens: Colonial Marines is goign to be a launch title, and even one of my favourite series Metro: the Last Light will be availible at lauch, seems to be good things to come.
So in total im intrested, very interested in what Nintendo is bringing to table in the future.
