My new way of getting games

One of the toughest things about being a gamer is managing money. This is especially difficult if you're deciding to get a game that may only be a few hours long. Some people rent games. I think renting games is overpriced. Especially considering new games you only get for a weekend.

I started going to Gamestop a lot recently. I got an Edge card which lets me get discounts on games and special email offers. Trade in's are also worth more. I started to notice that I beat games fairly quickly. After that they sit in the dust. I made a huge trade in a few weeks ago. Then I started thinking about Gamespots used games guarantee. "You have 7 days to take back any used game, and get all of your money back." I started thinking I should take advantage of this guarantee as it would be much more useful than a game rental. I picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent for around $17 bucks, beat it, and took it back to get all of my money back. I did the same thing with Far Cry Instincts: Predator. Then I started thinking I could buy the same game over and over, and keep taking it back and buying it again! But I realized that they keep track of your returns and they might get a little suspicious. I haven't tried it yet, but I will sometime in the future.

I'm starting to "rent" newer games. I started today buy picking up The Bourne Conspiracy. I am enjoying it a lot. I recommend it to any Bourne fan. I'm playing on Agent difficulty right now, and I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to try assasin mode....

In other news, I FINALLY picked up *drum roll* Crysis. It is an amazing game that I highly recommend. My rig is taking a beating though. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my first blog and find my money managing tips useful.
