    Teh flu

Yay flu season... well not really. 3 of my friends have caught it, one of them got it 3 times in 4 months. Honestly no idea how that happened, but it did. The my other two friends have gotten worse but one has gotten better, after I had to escort her to the local health center on campus risking my health. Not really... I had been living in a house where 2 people had the intestinal crap and another had a 2-3 week cold. The one who's health has gotten worse has a HC visit tomorrow and I'll see if I can help her get to the center. I just need to find out if she is going to our 8am class or just skipping... chances are she'll skip but only because she's just tired.

    Cults are awesome!

According to an MSNBC article I read yesterday, Ace Combat fans are what appear to be a part of a cult, called the Ace Combat Cult.

'Given the popularity of war games (such as the just-released blockbuster "Halo 3"), you'd think there would be plenty of aerial combat simulators available. But the subgenre has never really caught on among console gamers, with the best-known franchise, Namco Bandai's "Ace Combat," playing to a rabid cult rather than a mass audience.' Ok, they never call us the ACC, but you get the idea. Well, being a part of the largest AC forum this side of Namco, we picked it up and ran with it. And thus we are a cult now.

    The basic system thus follows:

    Namco - The Father
    Project Aces - The Son
    Xbox - The Spirit
    F22_Fan - The prophet
    The Mods - The Apostles
    The Members - Disciples

And we even have several passages,

A Reading From the Book of Sky-Eye, a Letter to the Erusians.

And Sky-eye said unto those in the village of Erusia. "My fellow Useans, Repent, for the mission of Mobius 1 is upon us. His teaching taught of brutal destruction against those that would attack without reason. Your False Prophet, Yellow 13 is a Golden Calf, and if you do not embrace the teaching of Mobius 1, you will be set free into the sky, no metal shall rain on your children, no missiles to do the work of the Lords Child." And with that, Skyeye departed from the land and assended to his place beside Mobius 1, and their mission was spread for all to hear.

A reading from the Book of Wardog.

And the 4 Horsemen of the Razgriz came unto the village and destroyed it and reaped of its harvest. The Prophet had called that those that would go against the Will of Osea would fall, and the Demons did the work of the Prophet. As it was foretold, no man would make it out of alive, for they were destined to fall to the Demons below.

And when the work was done, the Demons solemnly returned to await their masters bidding.

From the Book of Mercenaries... Story 4, Passage's 1-3

After defeating the Warriors of the North Belkan Lands, Holy Figures Cipher and Pixy were called upon to take on the Warriors of the sea, the billowing monster has seen the light of day and the prophet calls upon the holy figures to defeat all men opposed to their cause. But more was to come from the fierce cult from the Northern Lands. But no trouble from the Holy Figures daring cause and the defeat of all later in the days sunset. No Man of the North lived to tell the story of the Prophets figures of death and cause, Cipher and Pixy.

    Deaths on Campus

Well, it truely has been a depressing few weeks. First with the brutal death of a Sophmore last Thrusday and now with another death. This time it wasn't a vicious beating but an accident. I was checking my email for a few confirmation orders on a few purchases and noticed that a mass email had been handed out (by order of the Campus President, it's obvious to know this). I open it and it said a student had been hit by a train in a nearby town, Lyons. Go to WFMZ to see the story.

Edit/Update: Turns out he lived in Downingtown (he went to the same High School as me) and I just called a friend and left a voice mail telling her. I'm not sure if she knew him or not. I'll see if I can get her to tell her sister who is a senior this year to ask around.
