I've had some good times with all the systems in the past I could make list of over 50 games that I just enjoyed more than anything. However out of all the generation of games i think this PS3 and XBOX360 generation has been my least favorite. It is not so much that the games they are making are crap, its they are not my style or taste much. JRPG's have been scarce unless your a NIS America lover. Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII 2, and Ni No Kuni are really the only amazing Japanese RPG's to come to the PS3. I've gotten into quite a few action games to such as, Uncharted (one of my favorite series) Batman Arkham City and Asylum. I've even gotten addicted to Metal Gear Solid this generation. So its been a good generation. I don't know if I will ever buy a new system though and here is why

-Most games are supporting the online play, which means shooters galore, and the single player experince is shortented or suffers.

-I'm not an online gamer and from the looks of it its only going to push the boundaries of online gaming. (bungie is already working on a MMORPG exclusive for the 720

-I'm getting married, that also plays a huge factor. My Fiancee knows that I play video games, but I also need to look at what I need to buy to maintain a household. I can't even buy a couch I can't justify spending the amount of money they want on a new system. I'm starting my family and and need to take responsiblity

Its the only that has me hesitent to even jump into the next generation of gaming. I don't even play online with friends much cause its always about the single player experince and the story.

@danwarecritic yeah its pretty messed up, RPG's are becomeing scarce. Just like good Survival horror games are. As much as I enjoy Resident Evil its gone to action to be consider a full fledge survial horror. Its like an action game with scare moments in it.

You've pretty much said everything that I think about the current state of the game industry.

I also must admit I haven't enjoyed the 7th gen as much as the 4th gen,5th gen and 6th gen for a variety of reasons, one of them is lack of localization(no localized Tales of Vesperia for PS3,FF Type 0).Even though the Vita is 8th gen,it already has lots of fun looking Japanese games released for it already or coming to it but many of them will probably never be localized and many western gamers will continue to say the Vita sucks simply because of that.Another reason I haven't enjoyed this gen as much as previous gens is western developers are continuing to release so many shooters,I miss the days when western developers made many great platformers(when Rare developed for Nintendo and made the DK and Banjo Kazooie games)and I loved Disney platformers on the 16-Bit and 32-Bit consoles and Earthworm Jim and Greendog were fun 16-Bit platformers.I can't get into the Ratchet and Clank series because it feels too shooterish for my liking.

I love my JRPGs and I can't get into most WRPGs,with the exception of Bioware ones.I love the Yakuza series,Yakuza 4 is one of my favorite games of all time but it was nearly not localized.

I'll eventually get a Playstation 4 and Wii U at some point, but I'm not as excited about those next gen consoles as next gen consoles in the past.
