This is my (Mental_Gear's) blog, which I'm using as a diary. I'll update it probably every month. I was originally going to call it 'Diary Of A Madman', but that was taken. No surprise there, really.

  Back To School

  Wednesday 29 August 2007, 8:57 A.M., school.

  Dear blog,

  Mood: Apathetic. There's a 0% chance of homework, so that's something to be glad about. I really gotta sort out my forum problems. I better ask my friend to upload episode 2 of 'Venom From Spiderman Trying To Lead A Normal Life', my surprisingly popular video, to YouTube, and see if my upload problem's been solved, but I'll wait a week before I trust him with my account. First class is free, so nothing to do but write. That would be good if I had anything to write about.

  9:20 A.M.

  Writing a joke about George Bush fails to quell the boredom. If you want a laugh, here it is:

  George Bush dies and gets sent to hell. He is scared out of his mind until Satan approaches him and says "Do not worry, my friend. Hell is a great laugh. You can drink and smoke and have fun for all eternity." Bush relaxes and thanks Satan. Satan grins and then slaps handcuffs on Bush, chains him to the wall of a dark cave and proceeds to torture him. "What are you doing?!" Screams Bush. "You told me hell was great!" "That's the beauty of hell," laughs Satan. "People's punishments reflect their sins. Murderers get killed, thieves get robbed and politicians get lied to."

  20 minutes until the next class, where I can get my timetable. Whatever. I'm too worried about my fanfic to care. I better put this pad to use and write some of it. 2 chapters to go.

  9:25 A.M.

  Give up. Try designing Gamespot avatars and images.

  9:35 A.M.

  Designed.

  11:10 A.M.

  2 pages of reading, which better be all the homework I get. Pen is running out of ink.

  1:30 P.M.

  Home, do homework. Thankfully I didn't get any apart from the reading. 20 minutes of guitar practice. My guitar teacher is coming at 4:15 so - if I'm lucky - he'll tell me I'm finished with chord changes for now. I really want to move on to notes. And if he doesn't I'll rip off his head and crap down his neck. I ask for rock music, and he gives me more traditional rubbish to play. Start another chapter in the fanfic.

  4:00 P.M.

  My guitar teacher turns up early. Itching to go, I prepare to play, only to be told he's too ill to check up on my chords. Absolutely bloody perfect. He says he'll be here tomorrow, right after school. That means I'll have to sandwich in the lesson, homework and last chapter of the fanfic. He says he'll bring round a sheet of an Eric Clapton song, but if it's chords, I couldn't care less. If it's notes, though, I'll rejoice. Go back to the fanfic.

  4:36 P.M.

  Finish the chapter. I'll do the last one tomorrow. By this time tomorrow, I'll probably just have finished my homework. I decide to post these 2 entries on my blog tonight, check 2 topics on the forums, and then log off.

  The Catch

  Dear blog,

  Before I start, I'd like to point out I'm using Microsoft Word to type this, and as soon as I wrote 'Dear blog', that paperclip appeared and offered to help me type my letter. ROFL!

  Right, journal, whatever. I got back from holiday in England. It should be an easy enough day. I have to unpack my PS2, check that I'm ready for school tomorrow (at least I get half-day Wednesdays at my school, something about only being able to teach so many hours a week and a shortage of staff...what do I care, I get out 2 and a half hours early on Wednesday!) and check up on the forums. I've missed a lot, and chances are at least one of the topics has been purged.

  Hell, I'll have some time on my hands. If I'm not playing PS2, I have loads I need to do. Guitar practice, create my images for this site, start on another YouTube video, probably write another chapter for the forum RPG I'm part of...to be fair, the most important thing is work on the fanfic I'm doing. I've put it off for ages, and I really need to finish it soon. I'll do another chapter today, another tomorrow, another the next day...It's almost finished, but the sooner I get it done the better. If you're a fan of the 'Inheritance' books by Christopher Paolini (Eragon and Eldest) be sure to tell me and I'll give you some info!

  That said, I really should start on my Guitar Hero challenge. I won't give away details right now, but it involves 2 games at once. I better start putting it together soon, and start filming.

  5:06 P.M.

  Good and bad. I'm pretty much ready for school. Almost finished another chapter of the fanfic. Apart from that, I've been busy. I've set my PS2 back up, but not used it. I created most (if not all) still images for the GH challenge and decided on some suitable music. Dad will be home soon. I'll have tea, then log on. I have a lot to catch up on - mainly the forums and I have to check how big my images can be. I better ask my new friends from the Cooper Gang if they know a good FREE image editing program, and if I have time left apply for a spot in a Guitar Hero union. 5:10 now, 20 minutes until Dad's home. Probably just enough time to finish the fanfic chapter. I have to rip my new CDs too...

  5:23 P.M.

  Finished the chapter. I'll do another tomorrow, and the last on Thursday. If I'm not set back, I'll put up the first chapter on Saturday, and another every week. Dad won't be long. I better just double-check I'm all set for school.

  5:43 P.M.

  I had a brief proof-read of the 10 chapters I've done so far. There were only 2 mistakes, but I did add a couple of rulers. 5:50 now. Dad was in a meeting so that's why he's late. He'll be in soon. I just have to wrap up a couple of books for school (plastic stuff or some other rubbish, to protect it). There's a 99% chance I'll get no homework, so that leaves me able to write a chapter, practice guitar, blog, check what I've copied off the forums, and pretty much worry about anything I can. Hell, if my parents won't let me use the internet tonight I'll kill them. Maybe they won't, if I have to wrap my textbooks and have a shower. 6 P.M. now. Usually I'd be logging on now. It'll be half 6 they'll let me on, probably half 7 I'll be off, wrap the books, and I'm safe.

  7:55 P.M.

  Not good. First time using Gamespot through my home PC, and it's very slow. I didn't get around to posting this, checking the sizes for images or joining a GH Union. I'll probably have to think of a way to use both Gamefaqs.com and Gamespot.com to save time. I'll probably stick to Gamespot for a week and see if it can work right. But if things get worse, I'll have to use GFAQs for posting on game forums, and Gamespot for my blog and Union forums. Or maybe I can ask some other users for help. Chances are I'll get flamed beyond recognition, but no price is too high.

  Starting my Roots Bloody Roots

  24th August, 2007. 12:41 PM, seated in front of grandparent's PC.

  Started my blog.I had originally come here to check out the forums, as I'd been away for so long. Sadly, the forums are down.Bummer.
  
  Well, it's the 24th. About 1 week until school starts again, 3 until my birthday. I won't start my Gamespot wish list until after my birthday (14th September) as I'd have to take a few things off it. I really should focus on writing my Eragon fanfiction, but there's just some days you can't be bothered, so I'll keep this up.

  Once I get home, I'll start on my banners and avatars. My guitar would be a good start if it wasn't a crap ripoff of a Gibson LP. Having an 'Encore Cutaway' isn't something to boast about, especially when the amp came free. Probably a tribute to one of my games would work for one of the smaller images, whereas my banner, I hope, could be a mashup of my gaming heroes, from Sly to Snake to Dante, and of course putting Ozzy Osbourne in somewhere. I think I'll download a free trial of photoshop or some other program.

  I just joined the Cooper Gang union. I think I'll get in a Guitar Hero one while I'm at it.

  So I also better sort out my signature, but I suppose I'll ask a few questions on the 'Hello Newbies' board first. I can't believe I have to use it really, I used Gamespot's sister site, Gamefaqs.com, for around 3 years before I joined here.

  12:52:29 PM - I'm going home in a couple of days, I don't know what I'll do until then. I brought my PS2 travel pack but I've packed up my Guitar Hero controller. I should probably play San Andreas a bit. Then again, I should practice my guitar. Otherwise I'll never move up from playing this trad crap. This is probably my last time using the boards until Tuesday, unless the mods bring them back up later today. I'll probably post later today. Better go offline now.
