I know, I haven't blogged in a while! Shame on me! Well, here is some bright news for you folks! I recently bought the game Catherine. You know, that game everyone and their momma was hyping about? How is it you say? Well... it is fantastic you see! Really worth a purchase, IMO.

There were some gripes going for me during this game. I kept on getting texts from my bug-a-boo chicks a lot. I mean like dang, can a guy go out with his friends and drink in peace? Apparently not. And those sheep blocking my path.. I kept yelling at the TV, "Move, *push* get out of the way!" They were so annoying! Anyway... lets get to the unboxing.

Review for people who just want to read that only.

Alright, what does the LE look like you say? You have to wait.

Apparently the images were not showing correctly, I will fix it asap.. sorry!

That's all! I know you guys are glaring at me for not catching up with blogs. I am done with summer semester so hopefully I can stop being lazy and get to blog reading! See you all later!

@MistressMinako I have since joined another Asian gaming site so I can compare. it was kinda funny because it was a translation error from the Japanese that gave that game the same name as the Amusement Park building sim. and there is always danger is grabbing the bargain bin games be it at the store or online. for every gem you come across there are two or three clunkers. Along with that I also got a couple that were 'interactive DvD' games and turned out to be novels rather than games. Exodus Guilty had only one story line with no choices so it is more like a manga on the PC with three chapters - past, present and future. problem is the story is weak and doesnt make much sense. animundi was ok because the goth horror plot made up for a lot of the other weaknesses in the game. the interactive DvD things are a problem because they give up a lot in order to be able to play on anything that takes discs

@iowastate: lol... That's funny. Yeah, some of those games kinda are vague about their descriptions, I usually read off more than one site before making a decision on a Japanese game. Yeah, I swear to you, this game is by no means a dating sim. More like a huge soap opera than a dating sim. If you want a second or third opinion, I think some of the people who commented reviewed it, like Lucas.

@MistressMinako mentioned that because I got fooled once a few years back on a Japanese gaming site. A game called Amusement Park which I thought was like Theme Park and th PC game called Amusement Park both of which were building sims like Railroad tycoon and also the price was right. most of the games from the Japanese sites are rather expensive. I passed on Catherine from them because it cose 120USD and the game guide was in Japanese. this one turned out a guy in an Amusement park who who tried to go on dates with the girls who work there. it is pretty tame and would be G rated but also was a boring and a waste of money. I know some young men are into those games, because they do sell. But I always lived in a house full of girls so that is among the type of games I find rather demeaning. perhaps though it is good for a junior high boy who is too shy to talk to girls in real life:P

@iowastate: The part where you spend the majority of your time is the puzzle stages. There are communication parts of the game but it isn't really a dating sim because you don't really have a wide variety to choose between women. It's basically like a love triangle, so to speak.

@MistressMinako is this a puzzle game or is the addition of puzzles a way for the Japanese to disguise their specialty - a dating sim?
