    Why So Serious?

By now everyone knows how great The Dark Knight is. You've either seen it on opening night, bought a bootleg, or heard you're friend go on and on about it. We also all know about all the summer movie games that came out this past summer, as there are every summer. There were games based on Kung Fu Panda, some on WALL E, and plenty of other cash tie ins for the big blockbusters. Was I the only person who wanted a The Dark Knight videogame? Or for that matter, any game based on an action packed movie. Hancock would have been a cool premise for a game, and, coming back to the Dark Knight, the possibilities for game variation are limitless. Let us play as Batman some, rough up a few bad guys, maybe some time missions trying to rescue Dent or Gordon in time, or maybe even mix things up with some stealthy or timed missions with the Joker where you have to slowly take out your own men to proceed through. Take it wherever as long as you stay true to the movie. Give us some extra variations on the Joker story, some driving missions. You might could even take a Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield Modern Combat twist to it where you have to play the two sides of the story one after the other. Get some good writers on it, maybe put Infinity Ward on it while using the COD4 engine while providing that great rich story both COD4 and TDK offer. I'm not saying it'd be a perfect game, but it could be a fun experience. I know Pandemic was working on something, I would have loved to have seen them follow through with it. With Hancock maybe add some story decisions to maybe change Hancock's story. Make the right decisions and the people love you more, isn't that what the story was about? Maybe next summer instead of making obvious cash tie-ins, make some movie based games on movies that would actually be a good video game premise.

    One Console Under All?

EA recently published a report saying that in the future there will only be one console. This, to some, would decrease costs spent on extra consoles drastically. Well, I have something to say about that. For one, the price of that standalone would be huge. That and we would lose all of our innovation. What did we get from competition? We got the Wii, which is by-far the most innovative piece of gaming machinery available. As far as I'm concerned, I hope there isn't a standalone console. However, we'll just have to give this mind-boggling question a couple of years, and maybe, just maybe, at E3 2010, we could see some light on this topic.

    Game of the Year?

As you may know, this year there are tons of great titles coming out for each of the three new consoles, I mean the PS3 has Uncharted and R & C 5, the 360 has Mass Effect and Ace Combat 6, and the Wii has games like Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. However, when looking at these titles, you have to wonder, which will climb victorious and be the best game of the year? Sure there are millions of different ones, but one will probably get more than the others. At the end of this year I'll probably say Brawl is the best, but that's just because I've been waiting six years and it just looks really really good. But there are tons of other games going for that prize. So which will it be? Of course we're going to ahve to wait until we can really have a definitive answer, but I think Halo 3 is so far really reigning supreme. We've had Heavenly Sword, Bioshock, Warioware, Phantom Hourglass, Burning Crusades, Forza 2, Skate, and World in Conflict, all of which are great games. And really the games that I see really sticking out as some of the greater competition later this year is Guitar Hero 3, Ratchet and Clank 5, Kane and Lynchead Men, Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Conan, Ace Combat 6, TimeShift, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, just to name a few!!! Here's my order of top five most likely games to win Game of the Year the most:
    1. Mass Effect
    2. Super Mario Galaxy
    3. Assassin's Creed
    4. Halo 3
    5. Call of Duty 4
There are several other games to list, but that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. Unless Mass Effect bombs.
