Recent Gaming Activity
Of my numerous recent purchases in the world of gaming, the PS3 is certainly my favorite. While I still adore my Xbox360 and occasionally play the Wii (make better games, please!!!), the PS3 had long been on my mind for the reason of its exceptional exclusives, although they are far fewer in number than the 360's exclusives, and its capacity for playing Blu-Ray discs. Well, it certainly has not disappointed in any way. I did purchase a slim (a week before its official release, I might add) with Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4 in tow. They are both fantastic games and watching Blu-Ray movies is wonderful.
Metal Gear Sold 4
- Wow, what a game! I've never had a MGS game before and I admit now that I have missed out.
Little Big Planet
- I admit that I am a sucker for platformers and this is an incredibly unique and fun game. I also like to get a game now and again that my fiance is willing to play.

What I've bought and loved recently
I just thought I'd throw out my impressions on some recent titles that I have purchased:
Resident Evil 5:
I must say that this game is really great. Yes, it's basically a beautiful RE4 with a few additions, but I loved RE4 so how could I possibly complain. So far I've only seen a few visual glitches. For example: during a scene early in the game where a chainsaw badass is chasing Chris and Sheva around, almost every time that I did a quick turn-around there were no baddies for a second and then they appeared and were practically on top of me. It's OK though, I can forgive a few glitches. Overall, the game is really frantic, fun, and just plain old gory. I love it.
FallOut 3:
Overall, this game is incredibly immersive, fun, and visually stunning. It's great to have choices in a game and to see the repurcussions of the actions that you choose. It's also great to be able to go back to the previous save and do it a different way if you don't like how things turned out. I haven't spent the required hours in this game to make it all that far, I like to take my time anyway, but I can say that I really don't have anything bad to say about this game. It's just a great game.
Perfect Dard Zero:
This being an older game, I didn't expect it to be as visually stunning as some of the more recent games. Therefore, I was surprised by how well it still holds up. This doesn't save it in my mind, though. It's possible that I just need to spend a little more time with the game to start to enjoy it, but so far it's just a bit boring and annoying.

HD TV finally
So I finally got an HDTV and the most amazing thing happened! All of my games are better. A quick listing of how they are better.
1.) Assassin's Creed - I can read the descriptions and instructions that are given to me without going blind for five minutes from the strain. Now that I can read explanations, I can actually do all of the things that I am supposed to be able to do. AMAZING! Also, this is probably the most visually stunning game that I have, and now it looks even better.
2.) Gears of War - I can actually play split-screen with friends and see what is going on. Also, it looks stunning.
3.) All the rest - they just look amazing and make my immense purchase worthwhile to me.

"Immersive" An amazing game that may lack in originality but the sources from which it pulls are amazing and it makes a great game. Continue »
