Am I the only one seeing the irony here? ![]()
After Kane and Lynch was reviewed by Gamespot, people who had actually played the game weren't happy with the review - they seemed to give generally positive feedback about it, and it looked like the game was horribly underrated here.
Compared to the GameTrailers review, Jeff's review was relatively unprofessional, although I can't say whether it is accurate, since I haven't played the game. In any case, Jeff appeared to be a bad reviewer who hadn't given the game a fair review.
Now, people who almost certainly haven't played the game are calling it the worst game ever, and calling Jeff a hero for standing up to Eidos' alleged "underhanded tactics" - ignoring the fact that his review wasn't very good in the first place.
...So which is it? Is Jeff a bad reviewer, whose list of questionable reviews (ie. THPS3 and Twilight Princess) have finally got him fired? Is Gamespot as corrupt as the rumour suggests? Is Kane and Lynch really the worst game ever made? Or is everyone just totally overreacting?
I guess the only way to find out is to actually buy Kane and Lynch and find out for myself. It's not out in Australia until Thursday, so I guess that I'll post my impressions (and conclusions) sometime after that.
