Number 6, I suppose
after long deliberation, i've decided on my number 6.
BALDURS GATE 2
SHADOWS OF AMN

It's difficult to know where to start with a game like this. Shadows of Amn is the critically acclaimed masterpiece that continues the story told in the original, almost perfecting an already exceptional series from black isle studios. Developed by Bioware and released in September 2000, this game sets the benchmark for all roleplaying games, and who better to make it than the grand-daddys of rp games?
The story is set in the Forgotten Realms, the most popular D&D story setting. It has sold over 2,000,000 units and is widely regarded as one of the best role-playing games of all time.
A well deserved #6.

Number 7!
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament is a first-person shooter video game co-developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes. It was published in 1999 by GT Interactive. Retrospectively, the game has also been referred to as UT99 or UT cl/ssic to differentiate it from its numbered sequels. The game is based on the same technology that powered Unreal, but the design of UT shifted the series' focus to competitive multiplayer action, a trend at the time: id Software's Quake III Arena was released only ten days later.
UT is known and widely praised for its bot A.I., the product of programmer Steve Polge who had earlier risen to fame by designing the Reaper Bot for Quake, one of the earliest examples of an effective deathmatch bot.
Unreal Tournament was one of the best deathmatch games ever created. It's a true test of lightning quick reactions and sharpshooting, and considering it's still played today there are some very seasoned players - you're not in for an easy fight!

Number 8 & New Games
So, a recap:
10 - Planescape Torment
9 - Diablo8:
Starcraft

StarCraft is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The first game of the StarCraft series was released for Microsoft Windows on 31 March 1998. With more than nine million copies sold worldwide as of 21 May 2007, it is one of the best selling PC games of all time.
It's fitting then, that such a great game should still be played competetively - and it is, especially in places like south korea, where large amounts of money can be won, and players join teams and get sponsors. These tournaments are even televised. I think it's evident that the sequel to starcraft is going to be massive!
so,
in other news...
I went into town on Saturday to get a present for my little sisters birthday, and I got to spend the change. I saw a nice Turisas album which I thought of buying in hmv, but eventually I gave in and went to gamestation. I bought 4 games:
Heroes of Annihilated Empires
Pariah
Trackmania Sunrise
UFO Aftershock
I bought some of these just for the sake of it, to see what they were like - some may be terrible (though I know for a face that trackmania is awesome). Anyhow, we shall see
