    New Games and New Year.

So I recently got two new games. (Final Fantasy IV for DS and Final Fantasy Dissidia)Since I am starting school this week, I won't have much time to play, but at least it's good to dream ^^' I will also have to stop learning japanese for a while, to avoid bad grades.

On19th September I begin my piano clas*es(Level 1, since last year I was Level 0), and in October I start my guitar clas*es (Level 3). I was reading "The Farseer Triology" by Robin Hobb, but I think I will have to put the books down for a while, and focus more on another "readings".
The last movie I saw was "Dead Poet's Society". I found it amazing because there aren't many films like that anymore. It taught me many things, because the boy's story applies to my own. I want to takeDesign of Communicationon college; my parents support me, but they fear that I won't get a job after college, and sometimes they get worried about me, and their worries pass on to me... and well, sometimes I get a little confused. I have great grades at school, I know that I would mostly succeed in another area, but arts is my dream, and I can't find myself doing anything else throughout my life.

My best regards to all of you

    Fanfiction affecting Gamers?

Sometimes I ask myself: When gamers read fanfiction, does the gaming spirit remain or does it die, because it is based on untrue facts about the game's story or characters?
Fanfiction can, indeed, change the gamer's mind in relation to a specific game. I say this in my own experience and I know of more players who suffered of that "syndrome". I have read fanfiction for about four years, and started to write a year ago, and I have to say that if I haven't controlled it, all my gaming spirit would disappear.

In my theory, these are some of the reasons why writers tend to write fanfiction:

1- The purpose of continuing the storyline and be eternally immersed by the plot and the characters.
2- The purpose of writing fiction that is not entirely "fiction", since the characters are the same and in that way not wandering in the big plains of original-fiction writing.
3- Give in to the desire of seeing their favorite characters in awkward/funny situations, figured in Humor Fanfiction.
4- Wanting to see a favorite pairing in a way that looked almost real, since it figures the same world.

Another concern is the quality of the Fanfiction. Fanfiction is probably one of the writing fields which quality passes unnoticed more easily. For example, if people like Sora and Kairi(from Kingdom Hearts) paired with each other and they kiss in the end of the story (or beginning, in most cases), the reader is sure to add the story to their Favorites List, even if the writer doesn't know how to write properly or has the awful habit of not using a spell checker.

When I was obsessed over Final Fantasy VII, I had this particular interest in AerithxSephiroth fanfiction. Oh boy, I read almost every fic on www.fanficiton.net that featured those two. And after a while I watched Advent Children and I thought that I actually could not remember the spirit of the game. My mind was so "polluted" with fanfiction, that the plot, the characters and their personalities just vanished from my mind, leaving a fiction filled hollow in my mind.

For example, when a character dies, Fanfiction sites are filled of stories where they come back from death and open their arms to(insert another character here). People who read those stories completely forget that that character actually died and if the game has no sequel, he/she won't come back. This example also applies to unreal pairings, like SephirothxAerith. The gamer has to enter the gaming world and understand that Aerith actually likes Cloud and Sephiroth stabbed her in the back with a seven-foot sword.

And there are, of course those fanfics rated for 18+, which most of all don't add any moral, fantasy or continuation to stories and only provoke readers to read the most unimaginable scenes with a pairing (You know what I mean) -> Not that people don't have the right to read this, and I don't judge them for that.

Yes, gamers can have fantasies about the plot and the characters of a game...but how much will that consume their minds and their spirit relatively to games? And how would those fantasies damage the opinion relatively to a specific game?

[I have no need to offend people with this. I am myself a reader and Fanfiction writer so I have no need to offend myself here.]

    Games I am Looking Forward

I have got to say that this year I have been surprised by the amount of games I have in my Wishlist, which normally never exceeds two games. Normally I don't wait very long for a game to come out. My level of anxiety is moderate as well. This year, on the contrary, I have 5 games I can't wait to be released on the market.

LittleBigPlanet -I never wanted to buy a PS3 in the first place. Not that I have anything against this console, but I already have a Xbox360, so why afford a console like the PS3 when I am very satisfied with my own? It made me sad, however, that some exclusives of the PS3 wouldn't come out on the Xbox360, like LittleBigPlanet. I was so happy when they announced they would make a versionfor the PSP. Even if it doesn't have the same content, I am happy to have a taste of that creative game.

Final Fantasy XIII - Well, it's a Final Fantasy. Every Final Fantasy lover is waiting for the next title, although the fact that XIV is online disappoints me a little. I was grateful when they decided to expand FFXIII to the Xbox360. Like I said in a previous blog post, I hope his title isn't all flash no substance. I expect more of Square Enix.

NIER - A Square Enix title. There's really not much to say about this, just the fact that is from Square, and from Square I always expect big things:

"Assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, NIER, who is resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus."

    in Gamespot

    Sounds good to me

Dante's Inferno - The poetic aura of the game, as well as the graphics and the overall previews around give me a hint that this will be a polemic game. Let's see if I am right, as well as lot of gamers.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy - I cannot say how long I have been waiting for this game. I can't wait to see my favorite villains and heroes in action. Sephiroth versus Squall? That's a battle I never imagined it would really happen. I have to say I pictured a mix of villains and heroes from Final Fantasy in my "wildest dreams" and I never thought the dream would come true. We, Final Fantasy gamers are so lucky. Square Enix doesn't care about the honor of the plot line, it just wants to please the gamers and earn cash from it.
