I read yesterday this article here on GameSpot:

Capcom offering Dante's original outfit as DmC DLC

Three DmC skins, including one based on Dante's old look, will be sold for $4.00/£3.19/3.99.

and somehow suddenly all became clear to me...

So here is a little quiz: what other professionals besides video-games patrons, have exactly the same mentality about the inviolable relationship between service and payment? People in this profession usually charge you with an agreed amount of money for offering you their standard services; but if you want something extra they will charge you for that.

You see, it's not about just making more money and becoming richer, it's about being low.

It's pretty lame on both sides. They choose to reboot the series and people moan about the main character's hair. The developers stick with the change but then release the "old" Dante as DLC. Everybody looks dumb, loses, and wins all at the same time.

Kind of impressive in a sad way isn't it.

Its like I tell my friends when they ask me why I bought a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360:  I'm not gonna pay money to play the game I just BOUGHT on the system I already PAID FOR.  This DLC business is for the birds.

*facepalm* or they could have just made it unlockable. but charging for it? that's ridiculous.i was gonna say used car sales men from whom you buy the car and afterwards they ask you whether you wanted fabric on the chairs for an extra fee. not necessary if you have the cushion, but it's something i would have expected to have been included...

@zyxe The gradual transformation of Capcom to a bad imitation of EA was surely a  nasty surprise for me, as "I grew up" as a gamer with this company and Konami. At least their noble past in gaming is still there for us to enjoy it any time- they can't change that, they can't ridicule those old games, as much as they would wish to. It's out of their hands. :-)

My initial vote would have been prostitutes, but then I realized even they have higher standards seeing as Capcom hasn't provided happy endings for paying customers in years.

@KingOfOldSkool Yes, that was what I had in my mind, but I too felt later that this comparison is unfair for prostitutes, for many reasons. Maybe video game companies is something totally unique. It's something that a century from now people might bring as an example for where cynicism about business might lead in some extreme cases.

Air lines?

In any case, I dislike nearly all DLC. It's just cheap.

@ShadowofSonic Actually I had something different in my mind, but Air Lines is a valid answer too. :-)

continuing the tradition of dinging us for every piece of copper they can.

this won't happen after they alienate all their customers though.

@iowastate Exactly. I can't understand what will Capcom gain out of this. How many people will buy this dlc? 10.000 people?  Big deal.  Hasn't anyone of these managers thought that they might put at risk the name of the company, and at the bottom line future revenues?

I left this comment:

"So...doll out an extra $4 for what fans should've got in the first place."

@nate1222 yeah, probably it was there from the beginning, but locked. That was probably the drop that overflowed the glass for me regarding Capcom.
