Microsoft does not Care about its Customers or the Rubbish service it provides

Microsoft pulls a fast one on me, As we all know that Microsoft XBL is not free, maybe there are a few people out there that understand my plight with Microsoft, as follows. In a nut shell I had signed up with XBL using a credit card I have and it took around £10 out of the card every month or something like that which when you think about it is a far amount right ? esp as I had owned my 360 for over a year, using the credit card to pay for XBL was a BIG MISTAKE as when I tried to cancel the card form the service i found out that the only way possible to do this was by ringing them which seemed like a total joke as you could not do it through the xbox360 or on you're personal XBL account on the web, anyway I strongly suggest that if you have 360 use the pay per month card you can buy at a game store, but avoid at all costs using a credit card, So this is where the fallout now beings I one day awoke to find that I could not logon to me XBL account as my credit card was cancelled so I rang Microsoft up and they said that to return me to the free Silver membership but I would have to pay for the last month which was like £14, I just though to my self like you have got to be kidding me right!?!? to go back to the free-membership I was gonna have to pay you guys I was like NO F***KING WAY am I gonna do that to go back to free membership status, Especially as I had been working abroad for over 6 months and there had been many other times when I hadn't used my xbox for weeks/months and they had just been leaching money off me, not to mention the fact that the only way to cancel using the XBL service was over the phone, which I was not able to when I was abroad as you need the credit card for verification purposes to cancel the subscription which I had left back a home, So it was impossible for me to do.

So after the phone conversation had ended I was just thinking like how I had been "completely had" by MS and that they were such scum bags about it all, you see the thing is as many of you are all aware of with XBL is that it is an essential thing to have as you cant really do anything without it and all you're friends are linked to you're account and all you game achievements and points are linked and so, every time I tried to logon to my account it would just quit out of it. Which basically rendered my console useless.

Out principle I though to myself you know what Microsoft if I don't mean anything to you, you mean absolutely nothing to me!!!!, I then rang them up the next day and asked to cancel and have my XBL account deleted and I told them the I was now gonna sell my XboX360 and get a Playstation 3 in replacement, they tried to back track and said that they would unlock my XBL account so that I could log back on again with Free (silver) membership, but I had already made my mind up, And that was it I had sold my 360 with all its games and stuff 2 weeks later on ebay, I got most of my cash back and put the difference to a PS3 which I can tell you was well worth it not only does it play games better than a 360 it's a thousand times quieter than one and it doesn't break like the 360 after a few months use which I would like to add I had to return my 360 and get a replacement for it after I got the 3 Red rings of death. The build quality is brilliant on the PS3 and not only that the PS3 network is absolutely FREE yes FREE and it works just as good if not better than the 360 XBL network.

I'm a Cisco certified network engineer, what strikes me as a complete joke is that the XBL network should be free but its not, especially as it runs off a P2P topology, there are only a few areas where it becomes a client server environment within XBL, but yet it charges you to use the so called service which you get absolutely nothing in return for you're money.

any way I guess it all worked out in the end and I got something better as a result of it all, but Microsoft won't be on the top spot for much longer, as the competition is way better, the thing Ive learned from all of this is don't be brand loyal because the only reason I got a 360 is I used to have a Xbox which I really liked at the time, abit more than the Ps2 , Lesson learned!
