And so it returns, but...
Microsoft sent me a brand new Xbox 360. And when I say brand new, I mean brand new. It was manufactured on 8-31-08. Of course, that doesn't mean that it won't have problems. But at least M$ tried to do the right thing (though they should have made the console correctly in the first place). Hell, I think I deserve a brand new console from them since the last three consoles they sent me were used/refurbished pieces of s***. It looks like getting upset on the phone and cursing at people has its benefits.

Time to ready a coffin...again
So I turned on my 360 to play some multiplayer on Call of Duty 4 and what awaits me? The screen is all jacked up with color splotches all over the place, the screen is fuzzy and blurry, and the image is bouncing. Now I knew it was not my HDTV, because I had just got done doing some stuff on my PS3. So I turn off the 360, check my connections, and try it again. Same thing happened. So of course, my first instinct is to f***** Hulk Smash my 360 into a pile of rubble. But then I come to my senses. I have a service contract that doesn't expire until December 22, 2008 (I will be renewing my service contract, if possible). So let me call MS so they can send me another coffin and in turn, recieve another piece of s*** from them. The conversation with the non-English speaking rep from MS did not go well. Let me just say that I had to get hood on the phone. I hate having to get like that, but sometimes it just has to happen. The rep kept putting me on hold and asking me the same questions over and over again. I just couldn't hold it in anymore. All I saw was red and I went into kill mode. It got to the point where I just said, "Look! I don't want to talk to you anymore! Transfer me to your damn supervisor! Don't say another word, just transfer me right now!" I got transferred to a supervisor and my situation was quickly handled (the supervisor diagnosed the problem as the video card). They are expediting my coffin and the return shipping is expedited as well. So in two weeks time (or so I have been told), I will have my 5th Xbox 360. This is just damn ridiculous.
I have owned 11 consoles in my lifetime. A NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Xbox 360, and a PS3. All of those systems have been durable except my 360. Yeah, my PS2 (fat version) stopped reading discs after 4 and a half years. But that system deserved to die since I played it constantly (and I mean constantly). My 360 has no excuse. Out of all the consoles I have owned or do own, it has received the least amount of playtime.
Then people wonder why I support Sony more than Microsoft.

Back to the future
Waddup peeps! Just checking in with the usual stuff tonight. Not much going on besides work. At the beginning of the week, I officially started up my plan of playing through my game collection from oldest to newest. Wish me luck in staying true to my task. It will be extremely tough with games like LittleBigPlanet, Fable II, Tomb Raider Underworld, Rise of the Argonauts, and Prince of Persia releasing before the end of the year. *starts to feel the pressure*
Good gaming news:
Many people won't remember a game called L.A. Noire. It was a detective thriller announced in the later half of 2006. A trailer released for the game and then instantly, the game went underground. Nothing has been heard of since. Until now, two years later. IGN recently had an article saying that L.A. Noire was alive and going multiplatform (it was originally a PS3 exclusive). It is mentioned that it could be a title with the biggest budget in development.
Even though I still know next-to-nothing about the game, I cherish any game coming to the market that isn't a FPS. Since the success of Halo, the industry has been oversaturated with the genre. I've grown rather sick of it. If it ain't Infinity Ward, I don't bother.Check out the trailer for L.A. Noire:
Now playing:
Final Fantasy VII

I'm not really too far in the game. Didn't get to have as much time with it as I had hoped this week due to being busy with other stuff. But I must say that it is good to come back to this game. Even after all these years, I still enjoy playing it. When it comes to the gameplay mechanics, it is still better than most of the RPGs that have released since then. Not bad for a game that released 11 years ago.
Alright everybody. That's a wrap for me. Hopefully everyone is doing good and getting the chance to do the things they enjoy. Til next time peoples! *throws the sideways peace sign*
