Gaming, Music, And the betterment of the human race.
I titled this Gaming, Music and the betterment of the human race because I had a revelation the other day: Why don't video games sell sound tracks? As I sat there and wondered, I came to the realization that sound tracks of games such as Supreme Commander and Age of Empires are as good if not better then some music sound tracks that can be picked up at your local Wal-Mart. and with the exception of Halo's Menu theme, this has not been attempted at all. I think It would do everybody some good, we the gamers would get the sound tracks that would satisfy the deepest level of our geekiness. The game developers get some exta money to tine their pockets with and the human race is better off!!! So if the game developers would just satisfy the outcry of one RTS fanatic the world would be better off!!!
The sound tracks that I am talking about is mostly from the RTS genre, b/c it's gameplay has relied on the timeless themes that have played while we are conspiring the best way to crush and embarrass our opponent. This idea could be applied to other genres too but I belive it would be the most successful in the RTS genre b/c I can recall many of the opening themes to many RTS games, but not so many of the other genres... So satisfy the outcry of a hardcore RTS fan and you will see the betterment of the human race! (i'm still not sure if betterment is a word.....)
