    Nintendo's Lack of Originality

Why is it the same with every console they make. They always go slightly sub-par to current standards. When everyone had playstations they stuck with cartridges which had not even 1/4 the capacity of a single CD. Compared to games like FF7 which have 7 or more discs of content. Even though you dealt with loading times the amount of content you had made up for the minor issue.

The playstation could play DVD's, and nintendo still doesn't provide that option. They're sole claim to fame with the Wii is the fancy remotes which they falsely advertise as getting you up off the couch as if it enforces working out. I've tried it and you can basically just sit there and flail your arms around for 30 minutes while playing a game. It gets boring fast and I found myself wanting to use just a regular remote.

The other thing is why can't they come up with something other then redoing, Metroid, Mario, Zelda... every console they seem to redo it and its they're only selling point. They don't even invent new stories either they just redo them and add a few twists but its the same bad guys all over again.

    Come up with something original.

    Buying Gold in MMORPG's

I played WOW actively when it came out for over 2 years. During that time I was lucky to have 300 gold at one point after obtaining a random epic world drop. That was the most gold I ever had which quickly vanished when I bought a krol blade for 300 gold. I wasn't in a raiding guild, I actually didn't have time to raid I was a casual player. I could play for a few hours at best.

I quit WOW for a time and got into EQ2. Actually picked up the original client with free month subscription. Upon entering the game in the original gameworld, lacking any expansions I found the areas mostly devoid of any other players. What players I found were usually twinks who didn't want to group. Finding myself solo, with substandard gear and spells I spent most of the time dying and little else.

So I researched buying gold and got myself 1000. I was able to get myself good gear, mostly all fabled which is pretty good and advanced-master spells which great helped. I'd later do the same in WOW. Buying gear that upgraded my current equipment, I never wasted it on a faster mount.

I used to be radibly against farming. Used to spend time killing known farmers in area's they frequented. But now after using their services I don't see much wrong with it. I know raiding guilds buy gold because they can't afford to keep up with the costs of buying repairs, and consumables. Personally, I used it to get an upgrade once in awhile and to equip a BG twink that was fully enchanted.

In the long run I think gold farming while unsavory is going to remain part of the game. In fact I think game companies should incorporate it. For example, the "free" online RPG Tales of Pirates. The game is totally free, except once you get around 30ish exp really slows down. However if you goto their online marketplace you can buy gear, or items which double your exp.

MMORPG's like WOW could do something like this and totally cut out the third party gold farming companies. Have an online marketplace similar to say, ebay, and have players pay for items they want. Just make bought items slightly substandard to those obtained in raids. Lets say, making this up, Axe of Death drops in raid its damage is 110 speed is 20 with 100 to health and power. The purchased one would be 95 dmg, 30 speed, 80 health and power... /shrug something like that. It would still have the same appearance only slightly less in stats.

Punished for not being a fanboy

I'm not sure if its a bug but recently anytime I try to post a review of a game it tells me my reviews are either too short or too long. It seems like someone has messed up the review option, or I'm being punished for not posting glowing reviews of games. If thats the case I won't recommend this website to anyone as a referrence.

I read an article recently that one editor was fired from gamespot because he posted a negative review of a game. The corresponding company apparently put pressure on gamespot for that review and the editor was subsequently fired.

If thats the case this website is no longer a satisfactory judge of games since reviews by gamespot will be biased due to influence from the game companies. The reviews should be impartial, one reason I usually read the player reviews more so then the actual editorial reviews becase frankly in some cases they seem like a load of bulls---.

Now I cannot post truthful reviews which doesn't bode well for the game community if our right to freely express our opinions is censored. I guess game companies rather we waste our money on crappy games and learn the hard way.
