That is a... hm... precious review! (Sorry, it had to be done)

I was one of the people who thought the book would not have enough material to be made into a trilogy, but I was certainly wrong. Peter Jackson, the actors and the whole crew did an excellent job!

@Pierst179 It could be my love of the book, or the fact that I've read through it again twice recently, but I never found The Hobbit lacking in source material, especially when one considers all the side events going on.

So far, The Hobbit is shaping to be too good to be true.

Nice review, I agree with it. The Hobbit trilogy has a lot to live up to and I think An Unexpected Journey was a great start.

@dylan417 I can't wait to see what Peter Jackson has in store for Desolation of Smaug since it should cover some great moments from the book and hopefully delve more into the Necromancer sub-plot (which I feel is very important in connecting the films with LotR).

I actually think each LotR's film was better than their predecessor, so I'm hoping The Hobbit repeats this method.

The original LOTR movies are my favourite films of all time. Seeing the Hobbit was too good to be true. IF I was to have one issue with this film, it would be that it felt a touch too action-y during part of the movie. All in all, it was my favourite movie of 2012. :D

@ShadowofSonic The Lord of the Rings trilogy also holds a very special place in my heart, the only films I think mean more to me are the films of Hayao Miyazaki. LotR is basically I love about movies rolled into one epic, beautiful trilogy (it was so good, even the Academy couldn't ignore it).

I can kind of see what you mean about The Hobbit, but the only action scene I feel was unnecessary (at least for the theatrical release) was the Stone Giants segment (cool as the visuals were, I don't think it was necessary). Though one action sequence I hope we see in the extended edition is the Dwarves and Gandalf's escape from Goblin Town.
