I want to get into Assassins Creed but I hated the first one. My friends say the next three are actually good and after your review I might just have to buy them :D
Oh, wow. I haven't blogged for a while. I even missed my three-year anniversary here.
Well there's plenty of excuses but one stands out. Assassin's Creed Revelations. Even before the game released I was so excited about it I sort of neglected the internet. My bad?
Would it make up for it if I lied and said I missed you guys? Well enough of that, I have to start this blog, sicne I have a lot to update. Let's start with music.
Evanescence released a new album back in October. It's pretty awesome. I've also been listening to a lot of other music recently, some that I liked before, and some new ones. Like Fireflight, Paramore, Flyleaf and Trust Company. It's been helping me write (especially Evanescence) and so I present to you Chapter III and Chapter IV of Project Colossus. Let me know what you think. I also picked up the deluxe edition of Breaking Benjamin's Shallow Bay/Best of album but I'll talk about that another time (dammit where is Evil Angel and Had Enough?).
So I'm going to a concert tomorrow. Simple Plan is playing and my friend got us tickets. I'm really excited to go, since it'd be the first concert that I'm going to for a band that I actually *like.* Even though I haven't listened to Simple Plan for a while I like a lot of their old songs so I can't wait.
Hm, let's see... My parents got me a Dragon Age II shirt a while ago. It's like twice my size but it's pretty cool. They got it from the Gamestop Rewards thing. And remember when I went on vacation? Yeah, when I went, I had a temporary tattoo on my arm (lame, I know) of the Hyrule Royal Family's crest. I got a tan while we were there. Then the tattoo came off... I tanned around the tattoo. It was pretty cool.
We went to the PA Renaissance Fair, too. That was *amazing.* But that's just me, since I'm into that sort of thing. I got pictures with all four knights from the Jousting Tournament, and the Ultimate Joust was EPIC. My parents took me, my brother, and my two best friends. I kind of feel bad because I saw this awesome messenger bag but it was $48 and my parents still bought it for me, saying it was an early birthday gift. They's so awesome. They also bought me a necklace and my friend bought me a green feather-flower... thing. It's really cool even though flowers are stupid. Here's what my parents bought me:
Pretty cool right? You're jealous, I know. In case you're wondering, the thing in the background is my Kingdom Hearts blanket. You can sort of see Donald and Mickey.
I've also been reading a lot. Not only have I finished every Ranger's Apprentice book, but I've re-read the entire Warriors series. Right now I'm on Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Fading Echoes, or simply the second Omen of the Stars book. I forgot how much I loved these. After I finish Omen of the Stars (currently Erin Hunter has four books out I think, so hopefully the final two will be out soon) I want to read either Maximum Ride - which I promised Ams I'd do for a while now - or John Flanagan's new series, Brotherband Chronicles.
Video games! Oh! That is what this site is about, right? I beat some good stuff since my last blog. Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Zelda: Four Swords, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, plus Shadow of the Colossus and ICO. All amazing games, especially the last two. I had a lot to say about them but that's for another time I guess. I can't go into much detail about anything right now if I want to spend all my time talking about AC Revelations.
So. Revelations. Assassin's Creed. After beating the story mode on Monday at about 10pm all I have to say is this: Wow. It's just... amazing. The best game in the history of ever. To be honest I can't decided if it's better than Shadow of the Colossus or not because I claimed that to be my favorite game after I beat it. And now I just don't know.
Well, anyway, it all began with the multipayer beta. Oh, my. Not only was it better than Brotherhood's, but there was a bonus! I got to assassinate our friendly neighborhood Nintendo-naut! (See what I did there?) Like everything, though, it came at a price. One dreadful night I had to spend the time (IIRC, it was 11pm-2am) actually speaking with Naut. Now, I don't have a PS3 mic or anything, so I would usually use messages or text chat. But that night I had used my headset with my laptop and MSN, and actually had to *talk.* Blech.
It wasn't all bad though. It was kind of fun insulting him verbally.
To hell with that, onto the actual game. It was *amazing,* for lack of a better word. The graphics were great - Constantinople is so full of color and life in the game, it felt real. Not only do you get to play the main story as Ezio, but you get to play as Altair every time you collect a Masyaf Key, which is basically the point of the game - collecting all the keys so you can open Altair's Library under the Masyaf Castle.
As well, if you collect at least 30 Data Fragments, you can play all of Desmond's Journey - basically Desmond's backstory mixed with a crazy platforming-type of gameplay new to AC - back on the Animus Island. These were especially great for me because I love Desmond. And they were really fun to play, not to mention it was interesting to learn more about Desmond. And of course, Subject 16! Oh man! It was great to see him. He has a face (and so does Altair!) at last. I love that guy even more now.
And the ending. Damn. Another AC cliffhanger. Ubisoft are a cruel, wonderful people, and I've said it more than once. Needless to say, now I cannot wait until Assassin's Creed III. I hope it focuses a little more on Desmond, because he's the frickin' main character and he always takes a back seat to Altair or Ezio. So yeah. More Desmond is *always* a good thing. :3
I want to say more but I don't have the time. I couldn't even find a cake for my GS anniversary. Oh well, another time I guess. So how's it been with you guys? Anything cool going on? Let me know in a comment or something. Ciao!
Le's bounce, yo! Peace out! ~V
@Bugbag: Thanks! Oh noes! D: Bug gets killed a lot, doesn't he? Finally, someone else who enjoyed Revelations! I thought the Desmond sequences were really original actually, if only to AC. I haven't played anything like it, myself. Everyone loves Skyrim - my brother even has it. I bought Oblivion recently but I'm guessing that doesn't count? :P @Anonymous_shade: It's an epic necklace. You should totally be jelly. @Aidan129: I would have returned all the sooner had I known it would make you sad. I don't think I'll be playing Skyrim - not anytime soon anyway. And stop trying to get internet people to send you their stuff. It's not working. @VideoGamerNerd: As always, I'm glad you liked Project Colossus. But... but... D: How could you? :x I'll admit Brotherhood's cliffhanger was better (and much, much more cruel), but I still like Revelations better. Anyway, everyone knows ACIII will be the best thing in the history of ever. Desmond FTW! :3 @Nintendo-naut: Enjoyed what, insulting you verbally? Yes, that part was fun. Everyone seems more interested in the blanket. I'll have to upload a pic of it later.
@Megamannt123: I'll have to upload a picture of the blanket next time (but there's no telling when that'll be XD). *noms cake* Thanks! Sounds like you're doing pretty good. @Curtis1560: Pfft! There was never any respect for you. Now you're in the negatives. Have you at least gotten Revelations yet? @Nunchuk28: Well there's your problem. If you only played 10 minutes of ICO it's hard to appreciate it. Honestly it's a wonderful game, you should give it another try. @Artsterisyours: That is truly great news. What game are you up to now? @Soulless4now: Haha, everyone seems to like the blanket, I'll have to upload a proper pic of it...eventually. :P Thanks, and happy extremely-late anniversary to you! @Courtney817: It's not cute, it's a dragon! :P Haha, I'll upload a pic of the blanket next time. A pirate theme sounds awesome. Do you plan on going again? @Sohaibiftikar: Honestly I'm just an AC fangirl. XD And yes - the mild cliffhanger is concerning Desmond (of course, it's not as bad as Brotherhood's cliffhanger). Have you picked up Revelations yet? If so, what do you think? @Dragon66116: Hey, you didn't mention it in your blog, either. So I don't have to. :x You STILL haven't beaten AC1? Go play it now! Or do I have to walk you through it? :P @Konamic: Thanks! ^^ @Twilightlullaby: Okay, I missed some of you. Sort of. A Zelda-themed 3DS? :o I'm so jealous. What's it look like?
You know you liked it, Fur. Also, while I'm not all that jelly of your haul from the Fair, I *am* most jelly of your KH throw. BTW, did you see that AC drawing my friend did that I shared on FB?
You already know my thoughts on the newest chapters of Project Colossus. I'm really for another chapter! I'm also afraid to tell you my thoughts on AC: Revelations in fear of you killing me. :P It was a great game, but it definitely didn't impress me like Brotherhood did. I'm waiting on ACIII, because I *know* that game will be flipping amazing. I did really enjoy the Desmond sequences though. Those were pretty awesome. And you know... more Desmond is always a good thing indeed. ^_^
Dearest Slyfur, I am sorry to see your return after many illustrious days with you being gone. That Dragon Age II shirt sounds pretty nice. You should send it to me  Also, you should forget Assassin's Creed and play SKYRIM. @twilightlullaby: You got that Zelda-themed 3DS? I WANT! :x Give it to me. NOW :x And send your FF13-themed Xbox 360 with it! And your 60 lb bag of coal.
Happy three year anniversary!:D Bugbag got shot! It's like the short story I'm writing now at another union, where Bugbag gets killed by space pirates leaving his ship in his friends control. But in the next part, Stephen launches a revenge mission. Not because Bugbag is dead, but because they stole his lightsaber!:o Bugbag also died in Haunted Gamers Planet. About twenty times actually. Revelations was great, the only problems being glitches, and the Desmond's sequences lacking originality even though I enjoyed them. You should get Skyrim. It's my favorite RPG yet!
You know you missed us. :P Well, most of us. ...some of us. Maybe. XD "It's really cool even though flowers are stupid." That made me laugh so much. Oh! I got a 3DS! It's Zelda-themed. :D
No mention about your recent marriage to a certain someone? I'm disappointed in you. :x:P That necklace looks pretty sweet. Congrats on beating Revelations! Unfortunately, I haven't been playing AC1 so that's been collecting dust. :P
Its nice to hear about Revelations, its also kinda reassuring because of the reviews of the game, I'm myself waiting for the PC version... Can't wait to dive right into it, oh, and by the way I'm totally with you about Desmond, loved him in Brotherhood it'd be good to hear more about him since now they're going to be concluding his version of the story in the next title... You said another cliffhanger?? I'm guessing that's regarding Desmond because they said this one is going to conclude Ezio's story???
You've been quite busy, miss! That bag is cute! I'm sure that Kingdom Hearts blanket is, too! I wish that I could see more of it! :P I was able to go to the Michigan Renaissance Festival last year. It was quite a lot of fun. It was pirate-themed the day we went!
KH blanket? *nosebleeds* O_O Happy late anniversary. I just celebrated mine earlier in the week. 8 years for me. :|
AC isn't really my cup of tea, but it's good to hear you enjoyed the game unlike most of the fans I have seen lately that called it dissapointing. Ocarina of Time and SotC are great games, but I'll NEVER see the appeal in Ico, I played it for 10 minutes and it was just plain awful.
I plan to get Revelations soon but I'm mainly focused on gettin Evanesence's new album, why? "My Heart is Broken" played over and over again in my head all day:P As far as games go, I might Batman Arkham City first then Revelations second. And with that statement, I'd say your respect for me(Or lack thereof:P) has gone down even more:P
wow, quite the update, sounds like you've been having lots of fun ;) and that's right, your bad. YOUR. BAD. to be honest, i'm more jealous of the kingdom hearts blanket :P *hands piece of cake* happy anniversary :D hmm, anything cool happening....i bought some awesome movies, got an awesome girlfriend, and it's almost winter break, so i suppose those would count :P
now i want AC Revelations :). anyways i havent been on as much either i havent even seen the others online as much.anyways Fireflight,Evanescence and many of the bands are awesome.and a Renessance Fair sweet but im more of a modern person with military but sees interesting. well with me lately got a PS3 now but been gaming more often and yeha i made a PSN account heres my username berto64X. other than that nonthing really.
