Slightly passed the anniversary date, but I managed to survive on this site for a whopping 9 years.
I am not as active on the site as I used to be due to my own personal life. Overall the site, community and staff has changed so much over the years, that everything is totally different now. To be honest I liked the site better in the earlier days than now, but change is inevitable and it's something we all have to deal with.
I no longer keep track of post counts, levels, emblems or other site achievements because they are useless to me and means nothing in real life, but for 9 years, I am Level 71 with 20908 posts. Virtually, it means a lot, in reality, it's useless.
I don't know how long I would last on this site activity wise, but it is my primary source for gaming news and reviews (and controversy *cough*RE6*cough*)
1 Like Congrats on making it 9 years! I made it to 9 years in September. Like you I'm not nearly as active as I was way back when and miss the old gamespot, but it's still one of the main places I get my gaming news from. I still enjoy tracking my collection here too, this is the only site I have my whole collection tracked on. Again, congrats, Soul, and here's to another year. :)

1 Like I'm just slightly behind. It's been 8 years now on this site. So many things have changed in the recent years (within the site). It's certainly very hard to keep track with everything. Like everything in life, we move on. But here at Gamespot, however, will remain a place of nostalgia and teenage memories

remembering Bethany and there have been huge changes but this still has the best community around.
it replaces the social sites I once used.

1 Like Congratulations on 9 years here! I also use this site primarily for gaming news too... and miss the earlier days as well. Change does happen... but sometimes is not always for the best. There are some things I like about the new Gamespot... but alot more I miss from the older days! :)

And I see what you mean on controversies on this site, heck perhaps all over the internet. The controversy that gets me the most in recent memory is over Bayonetta 2 Wii U exclusive. As if Nintendo and SEGA haven't had enough of it for their own reasons.
