I usually get comments on my blog but in the past couple of months it was saying "0 comments", so I really thought no one loved me anymore!
But now I see I'm not the only one that has that problem on their blog. I see your blogs and it has "0 comments" on it too even though you have more than 1 comment. This is weird!!!
In other news,
I got Darksiders 2 on Tuesday but due to life I haven't had the time to sit down and play with it. Maybe today though, i'll get a chance. If you got the game, how do you like it?
In more news,
I'm looking for some good honest opinions on my short and sweet reviews called short burst reviews on my official entertainment blog. Currently I have done a couple of film reviews with this new feature but would like to do it for game reviews, books reviews, anime and other entertainment reviews. The recent film review is Anonymous, which I just saw a few days ago http://entertheqann.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/short-burst-reviews-anonymous/
There is a poll that you can vote if you like my reviews or if you don't like it. you can also comment in the poll post if you want. Thanks! Link to poll on my blog http://entertheqann.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/poll-short-burst-reviews/
You can look around my blog if you want to get a feel for my writing.
Catching up this week/ backlog=>
DeathSpank 2 and Darksiders 1.
I recently heard that Sega is doing an HD remake to one of my most beloved games of all time - NiGHTS: Into Dreams. It's sequel is currently on Nintendo Wii - NiGHTS: Journey Into Dreams. It will be released this fall for XBL, PSN and Windows PC. Wonderful news for me as a fan!
Here's a trailer of the HD remake and some extra details
My Gamespot Anniversary of 7 years is tomorrow. Wow I can't believe it. Some of you I have known for that time and sadly we still haven't met but I hope to change that as soon as I get a car or at least some money to I can take a plane to see you. Ya'll know who ya'll are - Roy and Brad
I'm celebrating my anniversary and Memorial Day by taking a trip to visit a friend of mine. She's cooking BBQ so you know why I'm going. hahah. Plus the owner of my house is doing some renovation in the front of the home so it's good to be gone that way all the noise will be gone by the time I come back home. Well hopefully.
So aside from that how's everyone doing? I'm so pumped for E3. I actually have a video game party (I know finally another one) on June 5 starting at Nintendo Conference so that we can all see it and then comment on all the conferences then play some games. Cool huh?
I'll be writing about E3 in my blogs and my new social network The SidersDev Lounge. This network was created for indie game developers, professionals and gamers to post about the indie gaming industry and make friends. I even have a reward system in place for further activity around the site. It'll be launching as a regular sign up (right now its invite-only but still can be viewed) on May 31/June 1st along with the brand that is behind it, The Indienotic Saloon.
So yeah, I've been pretty busy with all that. After that is finished I will be working on my two business websites and brand site for a launch in June. This is where a good project and time management system should be in place!
Any new games I brought for May? Yeah I got El Shaddai, Rock of Ages (was free on PSN), Storm and a couple of other games on PSN. I also preorderd Halo 4 and Darksiders 2 at Gamestop.
I just want to buy Dragon's Dogma and Ghost Recon: Future Soliders this month. Is that too much to ask for? I need some dough plain and simple.
I just found out about Sonic All Stars Racing. The trailer makes it look so good. No doubt, fanboys are jumping all on this, either defending it or praising it like no other. Since I'm neutral, I just think its even more of a good thing, being a Mario Kart fan and all. What do you guys think of the game itself?
Also, more news on God of War: Ascension. Multiplayer included? I think its a bad idea. Why does it need MP? It did well as an SP all this time. What a way to ruin something grand. Cause you'd have to play it in a certain amount of time to get the full experience with MP. Why couldn't it be just DLC?
What do you guys think of the next-gen systems and game development? I think the more expensive it is to make games, then less creativity you'll have among the AAA titles because only a few studios can afford to take even more of a big leap. See Shokio's video about this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmNy3YWq8f8&feature=colike
Hi guys. It's been a while since I posted here and commented on blogs and at forums. I plan to do more of that now. I've been giving more time at Raptr, Playfire and Giantbomb. I highly recommend Raptr and Playfire because you get to just have straight comments and not have to read a whole thread. Plus they track your game progress.
Anywho, what I've been up to...
Well lots of changes have been going on since the start of this year. I finally decided what I want to do with my life and how I want to help people especially in the gaming industry. So all you guys really need to know is that I'm offering services as a Marketing Consultant to indie game developers. I'll market their games.
This means that you guys and my other friends across my networks will be the first to get promotions, beta sign up information and release dates of these games. Maybe even participate in contests to get the game free.
I have also started the Gameavation company website. When the service launches I'll alert everyone through a blog and its social networks so follow Gameavation on Facebook, Twitter and Google+! All with the same name - GameAvation. Also join the Facebook group - GameAvation. The Gameyourtherapy.com site is still under construction too.
To promote the future indie game marketplace service under gameavation, I will create a network for indie game developers, their fans and reviewers that will discuss indie game development and how the industry benefits from indie games. Also will discuss tips, advice and strategies to better market indie games, run the studio like a business and for writers to have insights on development and its progress.
To top all that off, I will create another service that will be part of my own brand - Vivacious Entrepreneur, which will be a freelancer marketplace just for video game writers/journalists. Outlets looking for writers will come to this site and see the latest and popular articles written by journalists that are also looking for a site to write for. The service will place a demand for paying jobs for journalists rather than free jobs.
Big things are happening as I create an empire. Let's just hope the industry doesn't tare itself apart before I can help everyone.
I'll continue to post updates about these projects here and my other blog:
My niche blog, Cutie the Triple D Gamer, has been updated. New content will start this weekend!
Thanks for reading!
And the Wickedness was not forgotten....
Happy Gaming this holiday season everyone!
Getting anything gaming-related this Christmas? I don't celebrate but I am getting the Kinect with a few games next week. I had to wait since Black Friday. :-(
I also purchased Batman: Arkham City and Lost in Shadow from Amazon yesterday. Amazon has a buy one get next game %50 off or something like that. Both were cheap so I got them.
In other news,
I've been updating the heck out of my website on wordpress - Gameyourtherapy. It's officially up in maintenance for 5 more days. I'll be happy when its complete. I also have to write up a business plan strategy this week. I'm trying to get that plan done before the new year. Don't want to start off with a whole lot of crap to do.
Anyone has plans for Xmas and New Years? My auntie is cooking this Sunday, so i'll be there.
Hi all, I have some awesome news to share with you. Today I found out my very first blog on Gamasutra.com is now featured for the day of 12/9/11. Yes, it already happened before I even heard about it, but now that I have heard about it I'm so happy.
I bet you're wondering what I wrote about. My topic was on Agile Project Management with Scrum. This methodology is used in software projects especially with video game software. If you look at some gaming jobs that needs project management skills, you're likely to find some methodogies listed such as Scrum.
I specially wrote about how to use Scrum with any type of project. I plan to use Scrum for my own blogging projects.
The most known author in Scrum methodology RESPONDED to my article. I couldn't believe it. He's actually looking forward to reading more about how I, a non-business professional from the gaming industry, is using Scrum for any project and not just a video game software project.
In other news,
My niche blog about $exuality and video games is getting a bit of traffic so be sure to check it out and follow it. Cutie, the Triple D Gamer. Yes, my boob size is 46DDD...
So for this month, I got these games:
Spider-man Shattered Dimensions PS3
Metro 2033 X360
Eufloria PSN (Check out my review for it: Link)
My boyfriend got Assassin's Creed: Revelations, MGS HD Collection and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. He recently purchased Sonic Generations and Batman Arkham City so I'm borrowing those two games. He got MW3, which goes without saying
Maybe when I come into some money again I'll pick up Kirby Return to Dreamland and Skyrim.
There is an article going around about a survey noting 57% of 1,000 videogames professionals at the London Games Conference believe digital sales will overtake boxed product sales in 2015. 16% of that group say the switch will happen in a year, 39% say during 2013, and 76% before 2015 is over.
Contrary to these industry executive beliefs, the world does not currently possess this kind of technology on a global scale to handle full console to streaming games digitally. Granted there's plenty of digital games for sale, but it's access isn't made worldwide simply because some internet connections cannot sustain speeds to stream games.
Therefore physical purchases will still be dominate in years to come unless everyone has the speed of fiber optics available in their area. I'm not saying that digital sales will not rise or even outsell in the upcoming years, but saying digital games will discontinue physical purchases in just 3 years is downright mythical. I wouldn't want these execs to work for my company in the finance department.
For more articles, check out my blog: Enter the Q Ann
Though my last post talked about some of the recent games I purchased in July, I will post some images and list all the games I brought.
Have not played yet:
Part of the Humble Games Indie Pack #3: played "and Yet it moves" and "Cogs"
Via Microform developer:
Coloropus via developer
So far I've been posting previews and news to the new site Levelsave.com. Last night was my first debut as a professional game reviewer. I posted a 3-page, 15 paragraph review on a cool WiiWare game. I know what you're thinking. A WiiWare game that has a 3-page review? yes. The games has a lot of stuff in it and I had to give a proper review. IGN does it so why can't I?
I know you're curious about this review so here you go:
In other news, I recently brought Mortal Kombat PS3 version and Alice: MAdness Returns 360 version. I plan to purchase Catherine hopefully this week. I went crazy with some PC games from Steam due to a sale on Civilization 5 and Humble Games Bundle Pack #3. Did you see how much they made already? $1M over the weekend! Sweet!
I have a video game discussion group in facebook. If you want to join, please visit GameAvation
It's my birthday today and I turn 27. It's been a long year. I am happy to have made it this far with the loves of my life - gaming and my boyfriend! Woot!
I can actually say that I am working in my dream career, doing dream projects and with the MAN OF MY DREAMS. For everything else there's always MASTERCARD...
What I plan to do today? Stay in the house where it's cool because the east coast just got a heatwave reaching 103 degrees! If it's cooler than i'll try to go to Gamestop because they gave me some birthday coupons
I plan to get Mortal Kombat 9 and Alice Madness Returns and maybe Portal 2 once I go. I have Catherine PS3 on pre-order.
Perhaps next month when I get things in order I'll have a video game party
I figure across all my gaming network blogs I should start posting the games I'm buying each month. Each month will have a book number, with different chapters.
A couple of days ago I went to Gamestop only to renew my Power Rewards Membership. When I came out the store, two used games fell into my bag miraculously. I never can go to Gamestop and not purchase anything so it seems.
I ended up purchasing these titles:
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom I actually played the demo on PS3. I thought I played it on the 360 so I mistakenly purchased it for the xbox 360. Divinity II has been sitting in my wish list ever since Atlus kept sending me emails about it, and boy they sure know how to market their games! I just love me some Atlus games.
I had to put this back though:
I was too broke to purchase for the PS3 even though it wasn't that expensive. I am getting a new phone this week, so had to set aside money for that. Communication with the outside world comes first gamers. lol
The phone I ordered from Virgin Mobile:
I also pre-ordered some games via Amazon, but I'll post them up once I actually get them.
Until my next madness collection continues...Game On!
The need for community managers in the video game industry has been rising since the definition of community manager is finally understood. This also means that more video game developers are involving gamers in the development process of their games than ever before. We get to make a difference not just with betas but with naming the game, how its marketed, what audience is right for the game and more. Because of this advertising, market research and marketing firms are working closely with Community Managers and developers to get feedback from the gamers.
The Wicked Gaming Community believes in community involvement and likes to help video game developers, other gaming communities and websites to market and promote their products and services to gamers. The WGC's founder is currently looking for gamers to participate in a short survey that will allow them to be involved in the development of a new video game series. If interested, your gaming community, podcast, blog, articles and/or websites will be promoted through the WGC's toolbar, which is available for free download on any of the popular web browsers.
The WGC has only a week to get 80 gamers to take the survey. Please tell all your friends about this. Respond so that I can give you the link to the survey and for you to provide me with your own links if wanted to be promoted via the WGC Toolbar.
i hate you gamers. always begging me to come back and what not. Fools. I shall get my team of ghouls and follow you to your homes and...and...play some halo: reach. That'll teach ya to mess with a game Goddess such as myself.
So you've talked me into coming back. I missed my little following.
Good news: I created a couple of logos. One is on its second draft and the other is finished. i'll post them up when the other is finished.
So ya'll missed me?
In other news, I recently got some cheap games: The Legend of spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Dead Rising and Crash Mind Over Matter. All three for Xbox 360. I got a few PSN Arcade games also: All about a Blob, X-men Arcade, Pac-man Championship DX, Spryo 1 and 2, some minis, Angry Birds on PSP, and more. Add me on PSN: SpawnHellraiser.
I also got my Xbox Live Gold back so i'll be looking to play Monopoly games and Halo: Reach with people.
I am looking for gamers who want to join my community clan. We need Xbox recruits so if you're interested, hit me up. I'll be doing some game review later. Justplainlucas talked me into it. lol.
and the Wickedness never ends...
Well I think this is it for my time at Gamespot. The effy game lists that keeps adding games I don't have and don't wanna delete them is the final straw. I barely come here and if I do, its only to read some news then move on with my day. I don't post anymore and the other thing I was doing was writing blogs.
I got my own blog and community now so i relly don't need to stay here and drag it out. i've been here for 5 and a half years now so its time to say goodbye for good!
I hope everyone had a very nice new years!
If you wanna keep in contact, im on twitter - @gameyourtherapy, facebook.com/quaishathornton, my blog http://gameyourtherapy.tumblr.com, and instant messenging - msn: syn_gericho25@live, aim- spawnnliv2die, yahoo - this_is_the_year_hope_fails_you, skype - notoriousqie24, email - same as msn!
So there's no reason why we can't stay in contact. if we don't then its gonna be your fault cause im not gonna even try looking for you.
So i'm out.
STAY GAMING FOREVER! love you guys for eternity!
Now that I've got your attention, my new clan is up and running even with a new name - Onslaught of Silence. My clan tag is OoS_Spawnie. Yeah, who saw that one coming? lol.
If you want to check out all the details here's the link:http://bit.ly/glB4MB
We are now accepting recruitment applications.
I'm doing this whole community be myself, and im getting less sleep and less game time. grr...
Ok, so this was bound to happen folks! I am creating my own clan that plays any multiplayer across any system. I am brainstorming clan names and managed to make a poll out of the names I got so far. If you would like to join up or at least read about the new clan then please check out this link on my forum:
If joining then help vote for a new name and promote the thread to get more members. I would like to close the poll by next week on the name.
In the meantime, I'm updating everything in the community. So far, I removed the company running the community. It's just now going to be all THE WICKED GAMING COMMUNITY. Once I get some money I'm going to register it and get a domain name.
Currently the WGC has a website, forum, toolbar, a twitter page and facebook page (with two Facebook apps). For more information about what we are doing visit us at http://yourgamingtherapy.webs.com. It's not professional looking yet but it's getting there.
in other news, whose going to watch Spike TV's VGA's tonight? I'm gonna watch it and post some news up in the forum.
my new ending slogan: "And we GAME our Therapy...!"
