Anyone else stoked about the fall lineup?

There are a lot of games coming out this year, even more so than what there was last year. It seems that the gaming market keeps expanding and growing off each successful year. If it continues to go on like this will every year be like this or will we reach a point in where there just won't be as much good content coming out in the fall and it will be more evenly dispersed over the year?

This just may be the best year to be a gamer and last year was just the start with such breakthrough titles such as Bioshock, Mass Effect and Call of Duty. There's even more to look forward to and expect from this year's lineup that should have any gamer excited since a lot of anticipated titles over the years are going to be released. Not just on the Xbox 360 this year, but also a lot of good releases coming from the PS3 as well that could shape the console up for an even more successful year in the coming years.

The lineup proves to appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers alike with a lot of titles being expected on everyone's list. There was a lot of talk at E3 this year that there was nothing for the hardcore gamer and that all three companies are focused on serving the casual gamer overall in the coming year to gain their interests since it's an untapped market. It's safe to say even though they have promised them they haven't forgot the main games that people love to play and starting in the fall that will be proven in it's entirety.
Here are some of the games coming out over the next few months leading to the end of the year.

    Gears of War 2 (X360)
    Fallout 3
    (PC, PS3, X360)

    Mirror's Edge
    (PC, PS3, X360)

    LittleBigPlanet
    (PS3)

    Fable II
    (X360)

    Left 4 Dead
    (PC, PS3, X360)

    Far Cry 2
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Resistance 2
    (PS3)
    Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
    (PS3)
    Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Spore
    (PC)

    NHL 09
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Crysis Warhead
    (PC)

    Rock Band 2
    (PS3, X360)

    Dead Space
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Tomb Raider: Underworld
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Silent Hill: Homecoming
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    007: Quantum of Solace
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Prince of Persia
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    The Last Remnant
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Project Origin
    (PC, PS3, X360)
    Need for Speed Undercover
    (PC, PS3, X360)

As you can tell I'm stoked for Fallout 3 to come out, the game is going to be great. The release date couldn't be better if it was a week late than I wouldn't get to play it as much since there are so many good games coming out in that timeframe. A lot of new details and gameplay videos have been released for it,haven't checked it out yet but I heard nothing but great things about it. From the looks of everything this is going to be that next addictive game atleast for me, the last being GTA IV. There's a lot of innovative ideas put into it and I like the fact you can switch between first and third person as well as play it as a real time fps or slow it down into a more strategic game with a lot of rpg elements.

With so many games it's going to be hard to choose which titles to get and what to either skip or wait til later on to get. I still haven't decided on everything yet because this year's line up is just as good as last year. I plan on getting Fallout, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry, Mirror's Edge are the main ones and the rest are undecided at the moment but I'm sure I'll end up getting quite a few since I'll have a Playstation 3 in the fall. I think the Fall lineup is going to be great and just wanted to know what everyone else thought of it and also any games you planned on getting.
Basically that's it, let me know your opinions on the lineup and peace out.

Everything old is new again v3

There's not much else to blog about at the moment so I thought I'd let everyone know what I'm playing since I don't have a next gen console at my house anymore. I only have one other console that I like as much as the 360 and that being the Playstation 2 so I went back and started playing some of the clas sics.

    Resident Evil 4 (Capcom)
    Photobucket

Resident Evil 4 is just great, and for RE5 to be modeled after it just makes it that much better. I've played this through countless times and remembered I had a save I didn't finish so I thought it be a good time to go back. It's my first attempt at the Pro mode and the last time and at the Krauser fight in Chapter 5, about another few hours and I should be done. I can only imagine how hard some of the scenes in the last chapter are going to be played out since you're constantly surrounded by enemies trying to make your way to the final fight. I plan on finishing the game and unlocking those extra outfits and new weapons to play through it once more before Resident Evil 5 comes out next year.

This is one of my favourite games on the PS2 and just the intensity and the atmosphere combined adds a lot of depth to the game and will always be played out like a new game. Some of the extra challenge modes off the menu are hard, there's this one point challenge where you have to survive as long as possible on a small map and the enemies just come after you wave after wave. The dude with the chainsaw always ends up getting me, not the weak one but the stronger one. Overall amazing game and definitely worth going back to in the last weeks of summer.

    Devil May Cry (Capcom)

    Photobucket

Devil May Cry has to be one of the most refreshing PS2 titles to date. It introduced a new and exciting genre and set the bar incredibly high to top it back when it was released. Already four games in the series and this is the one that started it all. Featuring a dark and twisted story of revenge set in a castle that is to provide Dante with the answers he needs, quickly finds out there's more than what he's searching for very quickly. I must say some of the fights are hard and the way they implemented the combo system is one of the best I've seen even to today's standards. I like the way tactics play a vital role in the way you attack in this game since not all enemies are affected that much by certain weapons.

There are a lot of puzzles and some great boss fights that will test your limits to the edge especially on the higher difficulties. It's been a while since I've played this so I have to get used to it again and if I have time I'll play through the other two games that I have in the series. The attacks are insane and the Devil Trigger I think it's called is awesome in this game. This really is an over-the-top game with a lot of interesting puzzles, enemies and one of my favourite action-shooter hybrid games of all time. I plan on finishing this as soon as I figure out this one section I'm currently stuck on at the moment.

    It happened again

I guess it was going to happen sooner or later so it's no shock to me at this point since it's happened three times before. It's a high count, but they were all refurbs after my first one which was unfortunate. It happened when the Halo 3 beta came out last year and I was left out for that, atleast I got into the Call of Duty 4 later on which was great. Anyways sometime last week during an online match of Gears of War my screen went black and it read searching for signals. I thought it was going to take a second to reconnect like it does for some shows or movies. I looked down and to my surprise the three red lights were present. It still worked after, but it was a warning more than anything.

    Photobucket

After playing a lot of Geometry Wars 2, I decided to get back to playing some console titles with BF:BC being the first, I got this message in the picture above. I decided to go bring the game back to the store and get a new copy, but before doing that I checked my other games and none of them worked. It seems the disc drive is completely shot. I'll be sending it in tomorrow and until then just continue playing arcade games like Castlevania, already at the end of the first castle in just two days with 98%. Just need a few more things done before I can go to the final boss and start the Inverted Castle. I guess that's all there is to talk about.

    Game on everyone.
