Perhaps you've heard of a little game that has come out recently that goes by the name of... oh, what was it again? Ah yes, Spore. I was expecting the game to be pretty good stuff, but I must admit I wasn't as excited for it to come as I was in the past for games such as Mario Galaxy.

However, I was blown away. The scale of the game is immense and coming across the other user created content is really nice. I am in the process of writing up my review for it, but I do think that an online multiplayer mode with your buddies would have been a good addition. I look forward to what the inevitable expansion packs bring.

Telltale have made games for Bone, CSI, Sam & Max, Homestar Runner (they are awesome, by the way!) and now... Wallace & Gromit! Incase you don't know, Wallace & Gromit are stop motion clay animations made by British dude Nick Park, whose man and dog combo have been on both TV and the cinema.

Following Telltale Games' past games, this will be a point-and-click adventure in which you can control both the characters along their wacky adventures. Screenshots and a trailer are on the site, and I can't wait to find out more about this!

Phew! That's another E3 that has quickly flown by. I'd first like to thank Gamespot for all their awesome coverage, such as the live conferences and their daily 7-hour stage shows. Every day I would look forward to sitting down and seeing what games were being shown off. Plus Brian read out my name, which is flippin' fab.

Sadly, I think that this is one of the weakest E3s in recent years. There didn't seem to be many big surprises being announced from anyone, and it didn't help that Microsoft and Nintendo's conferences were very poor in comparison to Sony's, which luckily for them had no "Riiiidge racer!" moments.

The game that I am most excited for that came out of this year's E3 is Animal Crossing: City Folk. It looks to be the same as previous Animal Crossing games, but that is in no way a bad thing. The addition of the city should help keep things nice and fresh, as well as a little something called Wii Speak.

Yes! Finally Nintendo have ventured into voice chat. Instead of a normal headset however, this device sits on top of your sensor bar and picks up sound from the entire room, enabling anyone to speak. It'll be interesting to see how they cut out any unwanted background noise that'll be picked up.

I've been reading about de Blob in the Nintendo magazine, but the concept didn't really sound that exciting for me. That was until I saw it on Gamespot's Thursday stage show. The graphics look very good, as does bouncing from building to building while splattering them in paint.

My only worry with de Blob is that the concept could grow old very fast, and the game will be sitting on my shelf with hardly any play time. Obviously I'm hoping this doesn't out to be the case. Do you have the same worries as me? Oh, and "I am so totally gray" is the best line in a game this year.

Wii Music looks... well, let's just say it looks different. It looks more like a toy for little kids rather than a game. Where's the challenge? I'm sure I'm not the only one to think that Nintendo's conference was very disappointing. Except the four people dancing while playing Wii Music - that was hilarious.

I don't like the way Nintendo are heading at the moment. The majority of their E3 conference was spent looking at their new casual titles, while quickly brushing aside the fact that new Mario and Zelda games are in the works. Have Nintendo really forgotten about their great IPs and fanbase? What do you think?

I've blogged before about the Lego series from Traveller's Tales and how impressed I was with them, despite not owning the Lego series. However, as a fan of the Indiana Jones series (for the record, the latest film was good), I was full of fan boy glee when this gem finally dropped through my letterbox.

If you're a fan of the whip-bearing adventurer, don't be afraid to play this game. You may think that because it is Lego that it will be for kids (granted, there is nothing to stop them playing it), but this game really is for everyone as it is full of clever puzzles and level design. My review for the game can be found at this link.

Spore is one of those games that was just set to be awesome right from when it first entered Will Wright's mind. The recent Creature Creator has allowed for some brilliant creations, one of my favourite having to be a Monkey Island-inspired three headed monkey. Have you made anything cool?

I currently only have the demo of the Creature Creator, but I have ordered the full one from GAME for a fiver. Not only this, but they also send you a code so you can get a £5 discount off the actual Spore game, meaning the CC is free! Bargain or what?

Laura (from Gamespot UK) always has good things to say about the Phoenix Wright series, but I have never picked it up. I recently ordered the first game from eBay (it was out of stock on sites such as Amazon) and I'm currently in the second case. I'm instantly in love it all, and it feels much like Hotel Dusk, a game I loved playing at the end of '07.

I'm looking forward to working my way through the cases and playing all the different games, although judging by the reviews it seems the rest are all pretty much the same game, just with new cases. What do you think on this? Do the later games in the series deserve the scores they got?

Another eBay purchase of mine is Grim Fandango. It's one of those games that I wish I had played when it first came out, but I was just not interested for whatever reason. I'm only about half an hour (if that) deep in the game, but the voice acting is an immediate highlight for me.

I'm finding the controls a bit iffy (I switched to using the 360 controller, and that's working out a bit better), but I suppose they're just like Monkey Island 4. I would have preferred a point and click game with 3D environments, - the recent Sam & Max games being a good example of this - but I suppose you can't have it all!

Thursday was a day of utter excitement for me. I am a long time fan of Homestar Runner, a brilliant online cartoon series. I'm also in love with Telltale Games due to their Sam & Max franchise. Imagine my surprise when Telltale announced their new episodic adventure game: Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.

That's right! You play the character of Strong Bad as you go around the HSR universe talking to people, checking emails and solving problems in the point-and-click fashion. The game will be released in five episodes, starting in June on both PC and WiiWare (I'll probably be getting the former version if both versions are virtually the same).

Mario Kart Wii looks like a solid, fun racing game, but it has been getting mixed reviews across the board ranging from 6 to 9.4 scores. I'm sure it'll be a blast regardless, but I am just wondering if it is going to live up to its DS counterpart which I've spent hours thrashing (*cough*) people on. I've also heard bad things about the wheel. I'm hoping Nintendo aren't losing their touch...

To try and make up for us in the UK getting Brawl late, Nintendo decided to be kind to us and give us Mario Kart on the Wii first. Sadly, despite having the game pre-ordered, I still don't have it in my mitts (it's two days after the release). You can read more about my sad story here. Update: The game arrived this Monday morning.

Tennis is the one sport that I like, but I've never owned a tennis game - probably because the giants of EA don't produce one. However, after reading about Sega Superstars Tennis in the Official Nintendo Magazine, it got me interested. The mix between Sega characters and tennis isn't exactly an original mix (Mario's already done it), but it looks to be a fun game.

The unfortunate downside? The Wii version has no online play. It's a real shame, because the Xbox 360 and PS3 have that luxury. Is it because Sega are just too lazy to develop it for the Wii, or is it because Nintendo doesn't support third-party developers wanting to use the Wi-Fi connection enough?

Set to be a sleepless hit, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a puzzle-solving/adventuring game for the DS which mixes lovely visuals with clever puzzles. The game also allows players to download new puzzles every week, something which will give the game long-lasting value.

There isn't a release date set for the UK at the moment (as far as I know), so I really hope this does get released here, even if it is way after everyone else. Given the 9.0 Aaron Thomas gave this in his review, I hope other developers will pick up on this and start making stuff like this, rather than the tacky Wii ports they seem to love throwing out.

Anyone who has played decent adventure games should know of Bill Tiller, who helped make the awesome game that is Curse of Monkey Island. Bill has a new game in the making, and the name of that is A Vampyre Story. The game is a point-and-click and has stunning hand-painted locations.

At first I didn't pay much attention to this game, but as more information slowly seeped out, my adventure game senses picked up and I look forward to getting this game. If you want some more information on this game (since I've sold it so well to you... right?) which I'm pretty sure is coming out soon, check out the official website.

As you can see from my emblem on the right, I watched the Nintendo '07 E3 conference live and when I was watching it I was awaiting some big new game announcement that would totally shock me, perhaps a new franchise that they had been secretly working on, a game that all the hard-core gamers would love. What was it instead? Wii Fit.

When I heard the news, I laughed it up with all my friends, but I've changed my mind on it. Although I really dislike this whole approach Nintendo is taking in trying to introduce new gamers (Wii... Chess!?), I'm going to get this. Not only does it look really innovative, but perhaps other developers could use the balance board to make some clever, new game.

First up, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you had a good Christmas. Mine was excellent and one of my presents was Hotel Dusk: Room 215, now one of my favourite DS games. You play the role of Kyle Hyde and you are out looking for your partner Bradley at Hotel Dusk, but while you're there other mysteries unwrap...

The DS really needs more games in the genre and stylė like this, simply because it's what I love. Adventure games aren't as popular as they used to be and so Hotel Dusk has turned into somewhat of an unappreciated, ċlassic game. You can find out some more of my feelings in my review. It really is worth a purchase.

Another game I got under the tree was Need for Speed: Pro Street. I've not been a fan of NFS for long, and only really started getting the games when Most Wanted came out (which is still, in my opinion, the best NFS game out there). When ProStreet was announced, I was a bit weary (I posted about it here in my blog). Was I right to be?

Yes, I think so. Even though I haven't played it much yet, I can already see flaws. Similar track designs, no police and open worlds, annoying commentator, hard-to-navigate career menu. However, the cars do handle well and the game looks really stunning. I'll have a review posted up as soon as I've completed it.

The Lego Star Wars games were guilty pleasures. I'm not too keen on Star Wars, but I have enjoyed some of the games over the years - the Phantom Menance and the pod racing game. I liked the Lego adaptations of the series due to the humour and the gameplay. I didn't end up purchasing the games for myself (played round a mate's house), but now something else has come along...

Lego Batman! Everyone knows Batman is the coolest superhero - his films and TV shows are always better than the rest. Lego Batman is now on my most wanted listfor 2008. Hopefully the game will have the same quality as its counterpart. Little details have been revealed about the game yet, though (by the way, the gamespace banner for the game here on GS is made by me!).

Psychonauts. A game all the critics loved, but it was a shame that it didn't get as many people buying it as it should. I say that because I never got the game. I know, I know. I knew about it when it first came out, but I dismissed it as something I wasn't interested in. How wrong I was!

I was looking at the game details a few months ago and realised I should get this game. So I popped it on my list, sent it to Santa and I now await to see if he delivers it. Then again, even if he doesn't, I'll go out and buy it. I look forward to exploring Tim Schafer's masterpiece.

Review update: I'm a bit up to my head in work, so I haven't reviewed a lot recently. I have a couple more stars to go on Galaxy, so look out for my review on that soon. I'll also have a bunch of reviews going up after Christmas.

I'd be lying if I said that I expected Super Mario Galaxy to get a 9.5 from Gamespot. I was pretty sure it was going to land a 9.0, despite other reviews, simply because Gamespot like being a bit harsh on games. However they have surprised me and really confirmed that Super Mario Galaxy is going to be one awesome game.

I have got the game pre-ordered from GAME website(the UK's leading game store) and as you probably know, GAME tend to get the game to you a couple of days before the release date, so I'm hoping I'll get to play the game mid-week sometime. Look out for my review after the games release. Until then, check out my Sam & Max Season 2: Ice Station Santa review [/shameless plug].

Crash Bandicoot is just like Spyro - it's gone downhill since the original. The best Spyro game to date has been Year of the Dragon, and there is a new Spyro game coming out soon called 'The Eternal Night'. I don't have high hopes for this game, but I will get it if it receives good reviews.

Just as a little note, if you listen to the GameSpot UK podcast you may have heard my username being read out. Guy read out my comment about him on the banner and my question about Rock Band. A big grin spread across my face when I heard my username. I'm looking forward to the emblem - I always did think it looked rather jazzy.

If you've read my blog before, you'll know that for previous generations I've mainly beena PC gamer, thus I missed out on some many great games, the Guitar Hero series being one of these. The new game in the series - number three - is being released on 23rd November (already out in America) and I'm looking forward to my first taste of rocking out with a guitar controller.

But wait! There's a catch for people like me who blow all their money as soon as they get it. Yes, Guitar Hero 3 is £60, twice the price I'd usually pay for a game... and £60 is quite a lot. Should I wait for the price to drop or should I just splash out as a treat? I'm leaning towards the first option, simply because there are so many other games coming out soon (Zak and Wiki, anyone?).

Simon the Sorcerer is one of the best point-and-click adventures ever to be released, up there with the likes of Monkey Island and Sam & Max (although not as well known, sadly). If you like those kind of games, you should really try and pick up a copy of the first and second game (skip the third, it was awful).

A fourth game was released in Germany earlier this year, and I had a lot of doubts whether or not the game would get translated over here. Luckily, it is! The game is to be released in the firstquarter of next year and I can't wait! I'm just hoping the game is actually good and that they get some good voice actors (maybe even some of the original people)...

Who would have ever believed that one day we would see Mario and Sonic in the same game together? But that time has come as Sonic and Mario are going to be battling it out at the Olympic Games, taking part in all the typical events such as sprints, hurdles, triple jump and all that stuff.

But wait... this doesn't some like a game you can sit down with for hours on end and enjoy. You're right. That's because Nintendo and Sega decided to make their mascot's first game together a feast of mini-games. Everyone sure loves mini-games. Wrong. I'm not buying this game and it sure doesn't help the stereotypical view of the Wii's games.

Twilight Princess was my first Zelda game (see last blog) and has got me interested in the series. For those of you who are interested, I'm now up to the part which sees wolf Link collecting the balls of light (whatever they are called) for the third time. Sure I should have probably completed it by now, but my excuse is that I've been busy.

I am now interested in Phantom Hourglass. Although I haven't pre-ordered it and may not get it any time this year, I will still pick it up. DS games don't really keep my interest for that long as I'm rarely on the move and it takes some real boredom for me to sit down with a handheld instead of playing the PC or Wii.

Cast your minds back to December when the Wii first came out and everyone was going crazy and buying it with a copy a Zelda. I wasn't one of those people. Sure I snapped up a Wii, but why I didn't get Zelda with it remains a mystery. The fact that I was low on money had nothing to do with it, I assure you. So now 8 Wii games later I have finally got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

I have to say it is one of the worst games I have ever got and I am considering it sending it back. If I told you this I'd be a liar. Zelda is the best Wii game I own at the moment, mainly due to the fact it isn't mini-games. I have never played a Zelda game before, but the story and gameplay is really interesting. If only I could get those damned monkeys (I know, I'm not very far in).

In dog and rabbit related news, the official release date and name for the first episode for Sam & Max Season 2 has been announced- Ice Station Santa. There have also been a couple new previews from websites with new screens and a new video. Telltale have said they will be updating their site later today with pre-ordering info, screens, videos and FAQ questions.

The story is that Santa has been sending inappropriate gifts to kids and it is up to Sam & Max to try and stop him. However, Santa has a gun and I'm sure he isn't afraid to use it. Other characters return for minor roles - Soda Poppers, the bug, Abe Lincoln, Max... I can't wait for the game! November seems so far away...

Update: I've officially lost interest in the Sims 2. I've played Bon Voyage twice. Don't expect a review for it from me. Sorry!

On browsing the Telltale Games forums, I noticed people discussing an idea that Telltale could make an Asterix and Obelix game. To me this idea is perfect. Telltale likes to base their games on comics, and Asterix is a superb one. The comic is also perfect for the point-and-click genre. I really hope Telltale look into this game possibility.

I haven't purchased any of the other Asterix games, but I've heard that they're not exactly the best. I've only ever played a demo a while ago which was a lot of mini-games put together. It was okay, but it wasn't top quality material. I believe Telltale could fix this run of poor games and bring out some really awesome adventures.

If you've been looking at my Now Playing section to the right, you'll have seen that I have the latest Sims 2 expansion pack, Bon Voyage. But the category 'Now Playing' isn't really the right term as I have only had time to play it once since I got it last Thursday. This is because I've been busy, so I look forward to playing it at the weekend.

The impression I got from my short play was something pretty good and bad. The holidays are fun and there are lots of places you can visit, so there is no reason to get bored quickly. The biggest downfall in the game is that this supports hardly any expansion packs. You can't set up your own hotel andyou can't take pets on holiday, which is just stupid. I'll probably have a review up for the game (should it fall into a 0.5 number, otherwise I won't do one) in about two weeks or so.

The new Simpsons game is coming out pretty soon and it is shaping up to be a decent game, with the cast recording their lines (as it should be) and some humorous gameplay. I'm hoping the game turns out to be good, because there probably wont be another Simpsons game for a few years.

The only concern I had was that I didn't know whether the game was coming out on PC or not. Gamespot and Amazon don't have it listed, but Play and GAME do. This left me confused, so I contacted EA Support and asked them if the game was coming out on PC or not. They said no, so it looks like I'll have to get it on Wii instead- unless of course they release it on PC a few months later, as with Hit & Run.

Some of you may not understand this blog title, but it has to do with this game, chocolate oranges and a bad pun. MySims isn't your normal Sims game. When first game screenshots for this game came out, I simply thought EA have messed up big time with this game. This isn't Sims! Then I looked deeper into it and pass the Sims title, and I realised this is a game I'm getting.

I believe that Animal Crossing have some serious competition on their hands now. MySims is doing what that does, mixed with a bit of Harvest Moon, and a whole lot more. The fact that you can make your own furniture looks to be a really neat feature along with talking to everyone in your town. I can't wait!

Super Paper Mario is already out in America, but us Brits have to wait. I'm hoping it'll be worth the wait, because this game looks awesome. The idea of flipping between 2D and 3D seems like a really fun idea, and the game is getting good reviews too, which always helps. I don't think it's going to top Mario Galaxy, but it should give me my Mario fix until that comes out.

The English cover of the game is really yellow, and I'm undecided if I prefer the American cover or the English one. Not that it makes any difference at all, of course. I've entered a competition in Official Nintendo Magazine to try and win a copy of this game, so wish me luck... I'll probably need it.

Zack and Wiki is a point-and-click adventure coming to the Wii, and as readers of my blog will know, I love adventure games and I love those in the traditional point-and-click variety. This game looks like it could be a real winner, and if it does get good reviews and lots of copies are sold, I'm sure we'll start seeing more games on this type soon.

I saw the game being played by Ryan on On the Spot a few weeks ago, but it was only a small segment where Ryan was talking about some of the controls and about the puzzles. It looks to be a really interesting game, plus it's got pirates in it. Who doesn't love pirates? Except LucasArts.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a big adventure game fan and I love the Monkey Island series (bring out a fifth game!) and the Simon the Sorcerer games (the third game was a letdown, though), but I've never got round to buying Sam & Max Hit the Road, even though I knew of the games existence.

I decided to buy the game as I'm a keen fan of Telltale's Sam & Max Season 1, so I went to Play.com and nabbed Hit & Run for £7.99, which I thought was a bargain. The game worked perfectly in Vista without in the use of ScummVM (to my surprise) and I've gotta say... the game is great. I did have to look up what to do a few times (shameful, I know) because it was quite hard, but I loved the game. Check out my review here.

Rayman: Raving Rabbids? Massive letdown. I love the Rayman series and when Rayman '4' was announced, I was excited. "Finally, another Rayman game!" It was then revealed that this game has now been changed into mini-games and that it is focusing on the Wii and being ported to every other console. I got the game on the PC (despite owning a Wii) because I have all other Rayman games on PC, and I felt the need to continue the tradition (don't ask). To put it shortly, it was a good game that didn't deserve the Rayman title.

They've now announced (well, a while ago) Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Oh, please! I want another platforming Rayman game, not Rayman and some rabbits in crazy mini-games. The game is only coming out on Wii and DS, so I'm undecided whether I should get the game for the Wii or not. I'll probably enjoy it for what it is, but deep down I'll just be annoyed it isn't the Rayman game that I want.

I was sad to hear that Rich was leaving because he was the soul of Gamespot and put all his effort into presenting the shows, especially attempting to chuck the paper at the camera on On the Spot! I was glad to see that the team did a good job hosting the shows now that Rich was gone, and it was a pleasant surprise to see Ryan MacDonald hosting Tournament TV the other day, as I haven't seen him since the Wii Launch (which I didn't get the emblem for... oh well).

Button Mashing is airing another episode today, and the description says that Rich is hosting, and the picture on the right hints this too. I know it was probably recorded before he left, but I'll be happy to see some new Rich content on the site... hopefully he'll post a new blog soon telling us what he's up to!

I'm a fan of the Worms games, and I have a fair few of them such as Armageddon, 3D and Mayhem. I was happy to find out that Worms was coming to the DS, but then it ended up getting bad reviews so I decided not to get it. Now that a second game cleverly titled Worms Open Warfare 2 is coming out and with Wi-Fi, I'm hoping this one is going to be good and get decent reviews - I'll probably get it anyway even if it doesn't.

Bioshock. The biggest hyped game at the moment getting excellent reviews and a game that has something to do with an underground water world or something, with big machines that you shoot at and drugs you inject into yourself. Now is it just me, or am I the only one who really doesn't care about this game at all? I'll be interested to read what Jeff scores it, but I won't be getting it either way as it isn't my type of game. Does anyone else feel the same?

As you'll know (unless you've been living under a rock), Gamespot have changed their review system. The scores now go up in 0.5 and there are no longer components that the games are rated for (graphics, sound, etc). Many people disliked this new system, but Gamespot turned a blind eye to it and did it anyway. Luckily the player reviews stayed under the old system, but I read that they would change that soon too. I started a post to try and stop the new review system being put in place for us, but sadly they have now changed the player reviews over to the new system. Expect fewer reviews from me now that this has happened.

In unrelated news, I've now entered the infamous level 20 which takes ages to get out of, apparently. I'll keep on watching videos, reading reviews, posting videos and images and so on like I usually do to try and get out of level 20 as soon as possible. Wish me luck!

I'm excited about the upcoming Crash of the Titans for the Wii that is coming out soon. I owned a PS1 and got introduced to Crash Bandicoot then, my favourite game being number 3: Warped. I didn't own a PS2, so I sadly missed on all the Crash games that got released for that. Luckily they are bringing out a game on the Wii like I mentioned, and it looks to be quite good. I can't wait to get my hands on Crash again!

If you've read my blog before or ever visited my union, you'll know that I'm a big Sam and Max fan. I'm also a big fan of Telltale Games (the people who make it), simply because I like the way they run things and they take criticism from their fans and use it to improve their next games. However, I've never actually got round to playing any of their other games, so the other day I decided to download both Bone games.

Y' know what? They're great - I mean it. The first one was short and needed some improvements, but the second game was just pure gold - I even rated it the same score as I did my favourite Sam and Max game, Reality 2.0. I'd recommended the two Bone games to anyone who likes adventure games and/or Sam and Max. Please remember to check out my reviews of the Bone games here and here, and then make your way on over to buy the games!

I've never played any of the Smash Bros. series before, but I have read about it and stuff. When I heard that there was a game coming out for the Wii, it really didn't bother me and I wasn't at all interested. But due to the daily news updates posted on the official site and the build up surrounding it, I've been caught up in the hype and I now can't wait for this game - although I still want Mario Galaxy more.

The thing that'll really make this game good will be if it has Wi-Fi or not, which it really better do! This is going to be a big letdown if Nintendo say something like they haven't had enough time to implement Wi-Fi features, or that they didn't think a game like this needs it. We shall see...
