I've heard more than a few "What time does X Conference start for me?"
Well, I've taken a list of various time zone areas that I've hear people request for over the past few days and put them together in this nifty list.To help you on your quick search,
- Hit "Ctrl and "F"" this will bring up a prompt for you to enter text into a field.
- Search for your region. If it's not included in the list and you think that it should be, feel free to comment below. Otherwise, you can check to see what time it starts for you by going to each of the conference pages and looking at the count-down timer.

It's Friday night.
I'm sitting here in my local gaming store in Sonoma County.

Dearest GameSpotters, it is that time of year again.
A time where dozens of exhibitors will arrive in Los Angeles, California to show off their best and brightest. This is a special year for me, because two of the console giants will be battling practically side by side in hopes of gaining the trust, support, and dollar of the gamer for our 8th generation.
It is going to be my third year in attendance with my fellow GameSpot staff members. I'm going to try my best to blog fairly regulary about my experinces this year to give you my personal look at E3. Feel free to share with me your wishes for things to see and I will do my best to help enrich your E3 experience this year.
So without further adue I present to you with...
The top 10 things I'm excited to for during E3 2013!

Quick show of hands, how many of you who fancy yourselves writers were aware of "GameSpotting"?
If you're not sure what that is, it's where we've featured user blogs from the site as a GameSpot feature. It finds a home on the front page and everything.
Here's what's been featured so far:Masters of Reality: By Pierst178

BioShock Infinite: Baptism of the Human Heart: By adusenbery
and The Zone of Influence: How Paratext can change our experiences with games: By tom_cat_01These are features that are picked no by community members, but by GameSpot staff, myself, and Carolyn Petit.
If you're interested in being featured, you can do so by doing several things:
PM Me with a link to your blog.
Post a link to your blog in the Writers Round Table for a peer review.

With Hell-a-vators built and a base in the firey depths we are almost ready to take on the Wall of Flesh and enter Hard Mode for Terraria!

We will be getting together at 7:30pm PST and will be trying to take on the Wall, the goal of tonight's game night is to enter hard mode, which should be fairly easy given that some of you already have twinkish characters that you're dying to show off.

Hard Mode features a bounty of awesome shiny additions, including but not limited to EVIL UNICORNS! Seriously, these things will mess you up.

To celebrate Terraria being a part of the Midweek Madness deal on Steam we'll be playing some Terraria this Thursday at 7:30 pm PST.

The game is currently less than a cup of overpriced coffee (3.39) and worth every penny! We'll make a server and dig down to the depths to see if we can enter hard mode!
The deal is only going until 4:00 PM PST today.
To sweeten the deal if we can get 50 people to sign up and participate in this two part game night I will make us an emblem.
MadElk will be assisting with the server, I will be posting details about how to join later this evening. Unless of course he decides to grace us with his presence and inform us in the comments.
We'll be using a chatzy room for communication up until the event happens, then we'll be moving to a group steam chat.

This is why I still think print is amazing
So in a CoroCoro Comics magazine that was recently released, thee was some news pertaining to Pokémon X /Y along with some "spoilers", specifically, news about the Pokémon that are going to be a part of this next gen. The issue is a June issue and it revealed four new Pokémon along with other tidbits of information about the upcoming games.New to the team we have Yanchamu, Gogoto, Yayakoma and Erikiteru.

Yanchamu, a fighting type Pokémon who is a part of the "Naughty" species. This little fella is pretty cute, and has a trademark leaf stuck in his mouth for what I assume to be his first form. Next we have Yayokoma, a "Japanese Robin" Pokémon (normal, flying type). So far we know that one of it's moves is "Nitro Charge" aka "Flame Charge". Then there is Erikiteru which is classified as an electric, normal type Pokémon, the other info shared about this one is that it can generate electricity by absorbing sunlight. And finally, we have "Gogoto" your ticket to ride since he's a riding Pokémon. He's a grass type with "Horn Leech".
Bulbanews also shared the new region that was spoiled the magazine, along with a map of a location called "Miare City" which is located in Karosu (the new region Pokémon trainers will be adventuring in). According to the article, the new city is so big that you can ride your Gogoto to navigate it. This makes me wonder if getting a Gogoto will be a pokemon that you're simply able to "unlock" via some sort of quest or if they'll expect you to go out and catch one of your own.
Information about the Starter Pokémon was also reveled though it was mostly flavor text for the Pokémon. Information like; Chespin, the chestnut Pokémon has a "tough shell covering its head and back". He is able to learn moves like tackle, growl, vine whip and rollout. Fennekin is very hot, running at approximately 200 degrees Celsius though not much info about moves it could learn was shared. We also learned that Froakie, the bubble frog Pokémon is able to jump tall buildings in a single bound.
These new Pokémon seem interesting, though I'm curious to hear what the experts might have to say about this. Since as some of you may know, I took a long break from Pokémon back in 2001 and only recently started trying to get back into the swing of catching them all.

So while walking through the interwebs I saw a post from the amazing OpRainfall that stated that Final Fantay IV, V, and VI would be getting remastered soundtracks.

According to the Square Enix store the track for FFIV will be available on July 3rd (hey... just in time for my birthday... hint hint). The sound track will include "Battle for the four heavenly kings Gorubeza", "Love Theme", and of course the "FF IV Overture".
The only thing that I currently cant figure out is if this is a digital product or a physical release. Because while yes, I'm okay with a digital license to most media, there's something about having the physical copy that I simply hold as preference.
Do you have any soundtrack gems in your physical gaming collection? Or do you usually just listen via the power of the all mighty cloud?

Your assignment is to write up an editorial focusing on the Nintendo, their past, present, and future. Deadline to have your entries submitted is May 3rd, at 12:00pm PST
During the week that went by Nintendo held one of their many Nintendo Direct live streams. It left many users with an overall positive impression, however at the same time Nintendo once again ignited discussion and a great many flame wars. For this weeks Chalk Talk we will be taking a look at Nintendo.
Need some Inspiration? Consider the following topics:
- Nintendo as of late seems to rely to much on nostalgia and well established worn out brands. Is this a good thing? Do they need to reinvent the wheel or if it's not broken should they not worry about fixing it?
- Consider Nintendo's announcement about not having a Press Conference during E3 2013 because they wish to "Utilize our direct communication tools, such as Nintendo Direct, to deliver information to our Japanese audience and we will take the same approach outside Japan for the overseas fans." Is this a smart play for them or is this writing on the wall.
- Will the Wii U become profitable? It's been shown that the Wii U has not been quite the hot ticket that Nintendo had hoped it would be (according to profits from the last fiscal year). But according to Nintendo they have plans to change that. What would you do to help improve the Wii U's image? Or do you feel that the Wii U simply has a bad due to baseless claims from "Nintendo Hater".
Chalk Talk submissions must include the following:
- Entries must be a minimum of 500 words
- Do not use altered text fonts, colors, and be aware of your formatting.
- Select at least one image to act as your "cover shot".
- Submissions are due May 3rd, at 12:00pm PST, please submit as a link in the comments below. (Sorry about the short deadline)Important Note! There will be no Chalk Talk Feature posted on May 10th.

Create your very own creature to feature in this Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate contest for a chance to win a copy of the game!
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was well received by GameSpot, toting that it had excellent large-scale battles, huge amounts of compelling customization, and most importantly fantastically realized monsters! As luck would have it, we have extra codes for both WiiU and 3DS copies of the game, as well as awesome figures.
Want to win a copy of the game? Here's how.
Sadly, the "win a game" portion of the contest is limited to North America only (don't blame me, blame stupid region lock...) HOWEVER, the figurine portion of the contest is not #Tryhard. -

Your assignment is to write up an editorial focusing on the palatial Pokemon production. Deadline to have your entries submitted is April 25th, at 12:00pm PSTNeed some inspiration? Consider the following topics:
- How do you feel about the Pokemon game franchise at this point? Has its decisions to continue to add more beyond the original 150 been a positive experience, or do you perhaps feel that in this particular case less is more and the ever growing numbers of creatures to catch is bogging down the game?
- If you could revolutionize the franchise by rebooting it, how would you start over? Would you go back to the way things were with Pokemon Red and Blue or would you completely retool the mythos that's been created.
- How do you feel about the current online Pokemon tournaments? Do you feel that this is just another eSport or do you think that this is a great way for players to immerse themselves in PokeCulture?
- Where do you think the game will be in the next three years, how about the next five years?
Chalk Talk submissions must include the following:
- Entries must be a minimum of 500 words
- Do not use altered text fonts, colors, and be aware of your formatting.
-Select at least one image to act as your "cover shot".
Submissions are due by April 25th, at 12:00pm PST, please submit as a link in the comments below. -
