This is freaky. I predicted my 360 dying!

Over the last few weeks I've had these wierd recurring dreams. I go up to turn my 360 on, get the Ring of Death, and then my dream ends. After two weeks it was beginning to really creep me out, as it wasn't so much the 360 breaking as it was the symbolism of the Ring of Death. But then I went to turn my 360 on (while awake) and got the red rings AFTER HAVING FIVE DREAMS ABOUT JUST THAT! How bizarre is that?

Anyway, I'm not too bummed about my 360 breaking. Partly because I sort of predicted it would happen, and because in less than 6 months I used it more than an average person would in over a year, so it's not a big surprise. I just need to try and dig up the warranty, and if that's somehow vanished, I'll just have to take it to repairs and wait a while before I can play games with custom soundtracks again. At least it's not as bad as when my Saturn broke: after stores stopped selling them.

"Distance" on the horizon!

Just wanted to announce that my next film "Distance" is finally underway, along with my side short-film "Amortal". Pretty hyped to see how Distance turns out. It's radically different than my usual work; still has that paranormal touch but takes thing much more personal. I don't want to get too ahead of myself but I think this could be the kind of movie that helps people.

Here's an excerpt from an early narration in Distance.

Drail Narrates: "I don't need to eat. But I do. I don't need to sleep. So I don't. I don't want to care. But it's better than the alternative. The same way it's better to eat than to remember I cannot die. The same way it's better to lay awake than let myself become more dependent on dreams beyond the one we all live in. I don't want to be here. But it's better than the alternative. The same way it's better to lose what I want rather than to get what I don't deserve. And when it comes down to it, nobody deserves the alternative.

Few realize that's all they give you in life. A choice between bad and worse. Do you lose your dream or your wife? Your dignity or your money? Your freedom or your salvation? People stand by the choices they make and live on, but ultimately they were simply avoiding the alternative. It's the same way in death. The only reason anyone wants to go to Heaven, is to not go to Hell. A choice between bad and worse."

Book Research Bites!

I find it funny that most authors of fantasy novels brag about how much research they had to do to find out the weight of a long sword or how chainmail armor is made. Here I am looking up how dreadlocks work for my story. I jumped into writing Kindred Sin assuming I'd be able to get away with making most of the stuff up. Boy was I wrong. After I'm done figuring out how my main character does his hair, I'll have to look up the cliche mythology, martial arts styles, assault rifles, biblical timelines, and what it's like to live in both Boston AND California. And this is all for the near future.

In other news I found this pic of a guy who bears a shocking resemblance to my main character. Hope whoever he is, he doesn't mind that I made a few JPEGs depicting him as such.
